                <text>The electrical and thermal analysis of blended clamshells powder, kaolin, and CuO ceramics have beenconducted. Clamshell is used in the experimentation due to its high CaCO3 that is about 96-98%. Theresearch is aimed to analyze the effect of CuO addition on clamshell powder-and-kaolin mixed ceramics andto observe the electrical and thermal properties of its. CuO concentration was varied up to 10% (weight).We found that the samples could not set and directly disintegrate under the exposure to cold air when baked at temperature higher then 600°C. 8% addition of CuO to white shell gave a more stable sample and recorded 2,17 x 10-7 S/cm electrical conductivity and 0,9977 W/m°C thermal conductivity. There was a trend that those two conductivities are increasing over a large CuO concentration and kept increasing. Based ongeneral classification, this sample is considered to be semiconductor and its thermal conductivity is larger than glass. Semiconductors are very important in electronic manufacturing sector and this material shows the capability of tailoring its conductance. XRD analysis tells that CuCO3bonding has been initiated in the mixture.</text>

                <text>Studies on impact of variation of carbon monoxide concentration to air temperature have been conducted at Simpang Lima, Banda Aceh. Objectives of this research are to determine the level of emissions of carbon monoxide from motor vehicles, to study the fluctuations of air temperature in the area, and　to analyze the impact of increasing carbon monoxide concentration to the air temperature at Simpang Lima Banda Aceh during 2010. Concentration of carbon monoxide and air temperature were recorded by Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS) device installed at Simpang Lima Banda Aceh. The result shows that carbon monoxide concentration increases as well as number of vehicles passing the area. Change of the concentration in the air is also influenced by temperature variability in the research area. For the temperature, beside affected by carbon monoxide concentrations are also influenced by weather factors such as solar radiation, wind speed and precipitation. However, levels of carbon monoxide concentration at Simpang Lima, Banda Aceh are considerably safe for the environment, i. e. less than 100 ppm.</text>

                <text>Research about mechanical analysis of limestone in District Jaya, Lhong, and Lhoknga has been done from Dec. 2011 to Mei 2012. This study aim is to classify the limestones based on physical and mechanical tests as well as identify opportunities limestone utilization in accordance with the SII 0378-80 as a condition of quality natural stone for building. Research have been done by testing compressive strength, modulus Young, wear, specific gravity, porosity, and absorption. The result shows that the limestones are qualified natural stone for building the foundation, curbstone, stone and ornamental stone or paste.</text>

                <text>Abstract             Students' conceptual understanding of mathematics acquired through investment concepts and the association of a concept with other concepts. Procedural understanding is that task completion procedure can be given via a demonstration by the teacher. Assumed inductive learning strategies can improve conceptual understanding and procedural math students. This study was conducted to see the effect of inductive learning strategy to increase conceptual understanding and procedural mathematics student and it is a mixed method study. This study is a population that is all class XI IPA MAN Kuta Baro Aceh Besar, which consists of two classes. Obtain experimental class learning with inductive learning strategy and classroom learning gain control conventional. The research instrument consisted of conceptual understanding and procedural tests and interviews. Processing data by using SPSS, Microsoft Excel, t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Data processing results obtained: 1) there is no difference increased conceptual understanding of mathematics students who learn by inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall student well in terms of student ratings of high, medium and low, 2) there is a difference increase in the  procedural understanding of mathematical students are learning with inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall students and students from low ratings, but there is no difference in terms of improvement when students rank high and medium. Results obtained some mistake interview students, among others: 1) erroneously determine the function of derivative with using the concept of limit because there was erroneous of multiplication algebra process, 2) erroneously write  the example of  function thas has  derivative equals 3, that  does not have derivative, and grouping function that has derivative 2 and it’snt 2 because they do not understand the concept of derivative, 3) erroneously indicate a function that has a derivative at a point because they don’t understand the mean of question  (4) erroneously explain why the f '(0) is undefined for f(x) =    because they don’t understand what is known on th question and divisibility by zero (5)erroneously conclude when a graph has a derivative around x=a because of they don’t understand the reason (6)erroneously determine the derivative quotient and the products of two functions because they don’t understand the definition of a derivative, the proces of algebra product, and it’s simplification (7) erroneously determine the derivative of the root form because  there was an erroneous  in the process of changing the root form. Keywords: Inductive Learning, Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Understanding</text>

                <text>Abstract: Principal is a pearson who is responsible in improving teachers’ performance. This study aimed to find out the principal’s leadership behavior in improving teachers’ performance in State Elementary School (SD Negeri) 2 Lambheu of Aceh Besar Regency. This study used qualitative approach. The techniques of data collection were documentation, observation, and interview. The Subjects of this study were principal and teachers. This study showed that:  (1) the policy formulated by the principal by improving the teachers in improving the teacher’ performance in SD Negeri 2 Lambheu of Aceh Besar Regency led to written or unwritten rules that based on the vision and mission of school and school’s objectives. The principal also formulated performance improvement plant. The results of implementing this policy were the better teaching that made the students could easier to understand the subjects and felt convenience in school, and the better education quality. (2) The principal’s programs in improving the discipline of the teacher by performing good commutication (not rude, arrogant, or authoritarian), conducting seminars and workshop have showed happy results. The program made the teachers became more disipline that they were able to finish their tasks well. (3) The principal’s strategies in improving the responsibility of the teachers were by involving all teacher and acting as a model. (4) The factor that influenced the principal’s leadership in improving the teacher’s performance was the commitment of the principal in improving school achievement both in local and national level. The leadership was also influenced by the principal’s personality, school organization, and external environment.Keywords: Leadership, Principal, and Teacher’s performance.Abstrak: Kepala sekolah adalah orang yang bertanggung jawab dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru disekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru pada SD Negeri 2 Lambheu Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah dan guru. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perumusan kebijakan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan guru-guru pada SD Negeri 2 Lambheu Kabupaten Aceh Besar telah membuat aturan-aturan tertulis maupun lisan sesuai visi misi sekolah dengan melibatkan guru, sasaran sekolah dan kepala sekolah merumuskan kegiatan-kegiatan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru. Hasil ini membuat guru-guru dapat mengajar dengan lebih baik sehingga murid-murid lebih mudah memahami pelajaran dan dapat merasakan adanya kenyamanan selama disekolah dan tercapaianya mutu pendidikan yang lebih baik; (2) Program kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru-guru pada SD Negeri 2 Lambheu Kabupaten Aceh Besar dengan memakai komunikasi yang baik (tidak kasar, melakukan pengawasan langsung, tidak arogan dan otoriter), menyusun program KKG, seminar-seminar dan workshop dengan program ini menunjukkan hasil yang menggembirakan, guru lebih disiplin sehingga dapat menyelesaikan tugasnya dengan baik; (3) Strategi Kepala Sekolah sebagai pemimpin dalam meningkatkan tanggung jawab guru-guru pada SD Negeri 2 LambheuKabupaten Aceh Besar dengan melibatkan semua guru dan memberikan contoh langsung dan (4) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru adalah keinginannya meningkatkan prestasi sekolah supaya punya prestasi yang lebih baik di tingkat Aceh dan nasional.                 <text>Abstract. Geometry is one of the subjects studied at the high school level. Learning geometry includes the position, distance, and angle of the elements of a space. This study was a qualitative study aimed to look at the students' mastery of geometry. Subjects in this study were students in high schools in Banda Aceh were categorized in high school, medium, and low. Categories of student mastery of the geometry were analyzed based on mistakes made by students in answering the questions. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that (i) high school students in Banda Aceh had not mastered geometry, (ii) there were mistakes made by students in answering the question of geometry. Mistakes made by students include misconceptions, operation, and analysis, (iii) the student mistakes caused by (1) not mastered the concepts, (2) inability to perform the operation, and (3) not able to perform the analysis in accordance with the expected completion problem.                 <text>In daily life, it is often found that office buildings and shopping centers use air conditioning system (AC Central) for room cooling. The refrigerant in the cooling system releases the heat into the air with the help of the motor fan. In order to release the heat faster, the condenser pipe winding is designed and equipped with fins. The heat released from the condenser will be discharged to the air. This will lead to global warming if large numbers of air conditioning system are used. In this case, thermoelectric technology is a main alternative solution that can be implemented. Thermoelectric converts heat energy directly into electrical energy. Therefore, in this paper, we design a simple power system by utilizing waste heat energy from a condensor based on thermoelectric method. Based on the result of the experiment, an average temperature of 34°C results in voltage of 3.14 Volts and power of 0.16 Watts.</text>

                <text>Abstract: Integrating education on disaster risk into the national curriculum and providing save school facilities are two priorities which contributes to the development of a country to achieve the Millennium Development Goal. In developing a safety and preparedness culture especially for children and young generation, Disaster Education is required at the level of primary and secondary schools. The objective of this research was to find out and analyze the influence of integrating material related to disaster in to the curriculum on the student’s preparedness for an earthquake and tsunami at elementary and secondary schools in Banda Aceh. The method used in this research was a quantitative research utilized to collect the data related to the influence of integrating material related to disaster and preparedness for the earthquake and tsunami disasters into the curriculum on knowledge, attitude, participation and competence at schools. The data was collected by using a set of questionnaire and in-depth interview to three school principals from SDN 2, SMPN 1 and SMAN 1. The research results showed that the level of preparedness shown by the students of SDN 2, SMPN 1 and SMAN 1. It was evident from the number of respondents with good levels of preparedness at SND 2 (75.4%) and poor level (24.6%), good levels of preparedness at SMP 1 (75.8%) and poor level (24.2%), good levels of preparedness at SMAN 1 (80.0%) and poor level (20.0%). Based on the statistical analysis, it was found the there was a significant influence of knowledge, attitude, participation and competence on the preparedness shown by students at SND 2 (p-value = 0.0001), SMPN 1 (p-value = 0.0001), and SMAN 1 (p-value = 0.0003) in Banda Aceh, meaning that the difference was found in all schools. It is recommended that the government of Banda Aceh, especially the Department of Education, integrate materials related to earthquake and tsunami disasters into the teaching and learning process.                 <text>Abstract. The objective of this research was to determine the characteristics and mineral content of coastal sand from  Lhokmee, Beureunut, and Leungah Aceh Besar District. The sand analysis was conducted at Material Laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah Kuala University from March to April, 2014. Samples were collected using purpossive sampling method. The observed physical characteristics of this research were sand color, shape and particle size. The mineral content was analysed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Joint Committee for Powder Diffraction Standard (JCPDS) program. The result showed that Lhok Mee coastal sand was physically characterized as white, sub-angular rounded shape and 0.21 mm of size, while Beureunut coastal sand was light brown, rounded-well rounded shape and 0.19 mm of size, then Leungah coastal sand was black, angular-well rounded shape and 0.13 mm of size. Based on  mineral content showed that Lhok Mee, Beureunut, and Leungah coastal sand were dominated by SiO3, SO3 and Fe3O4, respectively. All identified minerals at all stations were classified as volcanic minerals of lithogenous sediment. Keywords: Beach sands; Color difference; Mineral content; Shape; Particle size. </text>
