This research was conducted at teaching farm and Pathology Laboratory, Veterinary Medicine Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, on June to November 2011. Pliek u was collected from home industry in Jangka village, Bireuen. Pliek u added in feed with concentration of 0.5%, 1%, dan 2%, that was given every day for 28 days. Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this research with four treatments K0 (control), K1 (0.5% pliek u), K2(1% plieku), and K3(2% pliek u), each treatment group contain three broiler. The results showed that the concentration of addition pliek u in feed had no effect to histomorphometric of small intestine villi of broiler</text>

<text>AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of an iso-intense continuous and intermittent training program on maximum aerobic capacity ( O2 max) and other anthopometric profiles, like, body mass index (BMI) and fat mass of sedentary males. 24 healthy sedentary males of 21.8±3.7years participated in this study. They were divided into 3 groups, like, control group (n=9), continuous training group (n=7) and intermittent training group (n=8). Exercise group performed the training 3 days per week up to 12 week. The study was approved by ethical committee of the UniversitiSains Malaysia, KubangKerian, Kelantan, Malaysia. O2 max of each individual was determined following a graded exercise protocol to exhaustion, on an Excalibur Lode Cycle ergometer. For continuous exercise, subjects cycledat 60% of individual O2 max for 45 minute on an ergometer. In intermittent training, the subjects cycled at 45% of individual O2 max for 10 min followed by 5 min rest and then at 75% of individual O2 max for 10 min followed by 5 min rest. This repetition continued until 45 min. Both the training programme were madeiso-intense. The relative O2max of both the continuous and intermittent training groups improved significantly, but the degree of improvement was more in intermittent training programme. No improvement was observed in BMI. Regular physical activity is a part of healthy lifestyle that is known to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease. Hence, in conclusion, our study indicated a beneficial effect of exercise training in improving the cardiorespiratory fitness ( O2 max), through continuous and intermittent training programme.</text>

<text>This study was specified in documenting Mimosa reaction in the state of defoliation on the plants. As defoliation was believed to cause plants experiencing both positive and/or negative effects on its growth performance, thus among the aim of this study is to monitor the emergence of foliar buds in respond with vary level of defoliation intensities. The seedlings were grown singly in polybags up to four leaf stage as. Grown seedlings were randomly subjected under four different defoliation intensities: control (un-defoliated), 25%, 50%, and 100% in which 10 replicates of seedling for each treatment. Experiment was ceased at the 6th month after establishment of plants grew. Results shown that, the effect of defoliation on the production of foliar buds was significantly difference between the treatments (P< 0.05). As compared with 25%, 50% and 100% defoliation, un-defoliated plants showed the highest amount of foliar buds production which is 14 buds. While, there were no differences amount of foliar buds production between 25% and 50% defoliation with 5 foliar buds per plants. Emergence of foliar buds was reportedly lowest in 100% defoliation plant when there were no sign of buds emergence. Results concluded that, the subjected plants of control, 25% and 50% leaves defoliation treatments, were able to performed tolerance effect relative to the induced stressor. Apart from that, experiment revealed that the 100% defoliation has probability of detrimental effect on growth and reproduction of Mimosa seedling as it hindrance the germination of foliar buds.</text>

Compost consisted of two levels, i.e. without compost and compost 30 ton ha-1. The result showed that biochar application affected significantly to stem diameter 7 DAP and not significant to number of leaves and plant height 7, 14, 21, 28 DAP, stem diameter 14, 21, 28 DAP, the 6th of length and width leaf and plant fresh weight. Compost application affected significantly to number of leaves 14 DAP and the 6th of length leaf; and highly significant to number of leaves 7, 21, 28 DAP, plant height 7, 21, 28 DAP, stem diameter 7, 14, 21, 28 DAP, the 6th of width leaf and plant fresh weight, but not significant to plant height 14 DAP. There was significantly interaction between biochar and compost application to stem diameter 7 DAP. There were not interaction to number of leaves and plant height 7, 14, 21, 28 DAP, stem diameter 14, 21,28 DAP, the 6th of length and width leaf and plant fresh weight.</text>

At the P7 treatment (biochar residue + compost + without urea) gave the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested. Based on plant yield, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on cornhusk ear length, cornhusk cob diameter, cornhusk cob weight, cob length without cornhusk, cob diameter without cornhusk, cob weight without cornhusk, and yield. At P5 treatment (biochar residue + without compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and without cornhusk provide the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested. </text>

<text>The objective of this study was to know the effect of biochar residue, compost and urea fertilization on growth and yield of maize. The research was conducted at University Farm Ie Seum Research Station, Aceh Besar district, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The experimental arranged in a randomized complate block non factorial design with four replications. There were eight treatment combinations: P1 (without biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P2 (without biochar residue + without compost + urea), P3 (without biochar residue + compost + without urea), P4 (without biochar residue + compost + urea), P5 (biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P6 (biochar residue + without compost + urea), P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea), P8 (biochar residue + compost + urea). Based on the plant growth, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on plant height age of 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, leaf number aged 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, stem diameter ages 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. </text>

<text>Cavitation in various nozzles of different geometries and dimensions, i.e., two-dimensional (2D) and cylindrical nozzles, and liquid jets discharged from the nozzles are visualized using a digital camera, and the index for estimating cavitation in a nozzle is discussed. Simultaneous high-speed visualization of cavitation in the cylindrical nozzle and a liquid jet are also carried out to investigate the relation between cavitation and ligament formation. As a result, the following conclusions are obtained: (1) Flow pattern transition in cavitating flows induces the transition in liquid jet patterns. As the liquid flow rate increases, flow patterns of cavitating flows and liquid jets transit from (no cavitation and wavy jet), (developing cavitation and wavy jet), (supercavitation and spray), to (hydraulic flip and flipping jet); (2) When the trace of a cavitation cloud comes out of the nozzle, a ligament is formed at the liquid jet interface. (3) The collapse of cavitation clouds near the exit and induces ligament formation, which, in turn, causes liquid jet atomization; (4) The causal relationship between cavitation cloud and ligament formation holds not only in the two-dimensional nozzle but also in the cylindrical nozzle</text>
