The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation on the development didrogesteron placenta in pregnancy by measuring the levels of PlGF. This study is a randomized double-blind clinical trial (Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial) held at the Antenatal Clinic (ANC) at the General Hospital dr. Zainoel Abidin (RSUZA), Banda Acehto women of reproductive age in the first trimester in RSUZA ANC checkup. Nonprobability sampling sampling with consecutive sampling. In this study there were two groups of women of reproductive age who are not in pairs is given didrogesteron group A while group B received placebo. Measurement of PlGF levels in both groups performed before and after treatment. PlGF levels prior to treatment in Group A 25.95 pg/ml while Group B 40.80 pg/ml. PlGF levels after the measurement results given didrogesteron in Group A for 4 weeks gainedincreasing levels of PlGF is 212.15 pg/ml, whereas in group B were given a placebo for 4 weeks was 89.60 pg/ml. Data analysis was performed using bivariate analysis between supplementation didrogesteron and PlGFlevels using SPSS 17. Analysis of data for comparative analytical numerical information unpaired two groups: Group A: the results of a PlGF levels in pregnant subjects were given didrogesteron and Group B: the results ofa PlGF levels in pregnant patients given placebo. Unpaired t-test results of the two groups showed that the group receiving didrogesteron have elevated levels of PlGF were significantly (p = 0.000 or p < 0.05) compared with the placebo group were only given alone. From these results it can be concluded that the administration can trigger didrogesteron PlGF levels in women of reproductive age. This study was carried out to investigate the administration effects of Cissus quadrangularis Salisb extract (CQSE) on the histology of lumbar bone in ovarectomized rats. There were 16 female rats (Rattus norvegicus) as samples and were then divided into 4 groups of treatment, with 4 replications each. K0 consisted of ovarectomized rats without CQSE supplementation, whereas K1, K2 and K3 consisted of ovarectomized rats administrated with 300, 500 and 700 mg/kg body weight CQSE for 60 days, respectively. On the day 61st, all rats were euthanized with chloroform and their fourth lumbal bones were collected for histological preparation. Parameters observed were densities of active osteoblast, passive osteoblast and osteoclast. The results of this study showed that density of active osteoblast of rats in K3 (27.25 ± 2.75) was significantly higher (P<0.01) than rats in K0 (1.75 ± 1.25), K1(4.00 ± 1.41), and K2 (8.50 ± 7.40), respectively. There was no significant difference (P>0,05) of passive osteoblast density among rats in K0 (16.50 ± 6.13), K1 (41.00 ± 6.48), K2 (44.50 ± 16.34), and K3 (39.00 ± 15.23). Osteoclast density of rats in K0 (85.25 ± 25.91) was significantly higher (P<0,05) than that of rats in K1 (52.50 ± 16.66), K2 (51.00 ± 7.16), and K3 (50.75 ± 9.20). In conclusion, consecutive administration of 700 mg/kg body weight of CQSE extract for 60 days might increase active osteoblast density in ovarectomized rats. Khitosan yang digunakan adalah hasil deasetilasi khitin dari kulit udang. Pembuatan membran komposit khitosan berikatan silang dilakukan dengan variasi komposisi PVP:khitosan dan variasi konsentrasi asam sulfat yang digunakan sebagai pembentuk ikatan silang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komposisi PVP:khitosan optimum adalah 0,1:2 (b/b) dengan persen penyerapan sebesar 88,62% dan konsentrasi optimum H2SO4 adalah 0,5 N. Waktu kontak dan pH optimum diperoleh pada 15 menit dan pH 4. Kinetika adsorpsi dipelajari berdasarkan persen adsorpsi pada pH yang berbeda dan mekanisme adsorpsi yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi H+ dan gugus amino yang ada pada khitosan mempengaruhi laju adsorpsi, dimana semakin besar konsentrasi H+ dan gugus amino semakin besar laju adsorpsi, sehingga kinetika adsorpsi fenol merupakan orde 2. The ability of lignin from sawdust waste to adsorb the copper ion has been evaluated by varying adsorption time, pH of solution, and adsorption capacity. The concentration of copper ion was measured by atomic adsorption spectrometer. The result showed that the optimum condition of ion Cu(II) by lignin were achieved at adsorption time of 15 minutes, pH of solution of 6, and copper concentration of 20 mg/L with adsorption efficiency of 99,3 %. In this study, we have studied the adsorption of three nonionic surfactants of alkyl polyglycoside, namely commercial APG from Cognis and APG produced from glucose as well as APG synthesized from sago starch, at fluid–fluid interfaces. The variation of surface and interfacial tension with the concentration of surfactant in the bulk was studied, and the data were fitted using a surface equation of state derived from the Langmuir isotherm. The kinetics of adsorption with respect to the initial dye concentration was investigated. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were applied to describe the experimental data. Equilibrium data fitted well to the Freundlich model for concentration range (0 – 160 mg/L). The maximum adsorption capacity of the carbon with BET surface area of 431 m2/g obtained from the Freundlich model was 36.72 (mg/g) (L/mg)1/n. The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were employed to describe the kinetic data. The experimental data fitted well to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with constant rates 5.42x10-4 and 2.22x10-4 g/(min-mg) for initial concentrations 50 and 100 mg/L, respectively.
