<text>Nosocomial infection is a disease caused by a pathogenic agent that is acquired during a patient’s hospitalization or treatment inside another health care facility. The said infection can be caused by microorganisms. These microorganisms may already be present in the patient's body or may come from the environment, contaminated hospital equipment; An intravenous (IV) set used during IV therapy is one example of the possible materials containing these microorganisms. The main purpose of this study is to determine the presence of microorganisms on injections ports of IV sets before and after disinfection whenadministering IV medications in the patients admitted to the medicine wards of Hospital X and Y. Presence of microorganisms despite disinfection may pose risk to patients through the entry of bacteria upon injection through the port. Thirty swab samples were obtained from each hospital. Swab samples were then isolated on nutrient agar plates. Hospital Y samples yielded no bacterial isolates whereas all 30 samples in Hospital X showed bacterial isolates. Swab samples underwent gram-staining to distinguish between gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Streptococcus species and Staphylococcus species which are classified as grampositive bacteria were among the bacterial species identified before and after disinfection and were found on all the samples obtained from Hospital X. Based on the findings of this study, adherence to infection controlprocedures were not well established to reduce or eliminate microorganisms on injection ports in Hospital X that may cause Nosocomial infections. In line with these, it is highly recommended that proper infection control and maintenance procedures should be strictly enforced to reduce, if not eliminate themicroorganisms on injection port which are possible causes of Nosocomial infections and may threaten thempatients’ health</text>

<text>Diabetes Mellitus or diabetes is an aggregation of metabolic diseases distinguished as a condition occurring when the body can’t utilize glucose from the foods eaten. In 2011, 366 million were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus with 4.6 million deaths and 50% among which are undiagnosed. According to the International Diabetes Federation in 2011, diabetes is expected to rise by about 552 million by the year 2030. Patient nonadherence can be a pervasive threat to health and well-being and carries an appreciable economic burden as well, yet, only few studies have been conducted to examine the relationship between adherence to therapeutic regimen and well-being among type 2 diabetic individuals The main intention of this study is to provide an in–depth review of the relationship between the adherence to therapeutic regimenand well–being among type 2 diabetic individuals in Iligan City. Descriptive Correlational design was utilized to describe the relationship between the variables under investigation. Modified standardized questionnaireswere given to 133 respondents who were chosen using a simple random sampling. Results showed that among the therapeutic regimen adherence investigated, most of the respondents have an average level of adherence to diet compared to medication, exercise, and stress reduction techniques in which their level of adherence scored good. For their well–being status, only mental scored good, while physical, emotional and spiritual scored average. Furthermore, findings showed a significant inverse relationship between age ofrespondents and their level of adherence to diet, the respondents’ work status and their level of adherence to diet and stress reduction techniques. Positive significant relationship was found between the respondents’ educational attainment and their level of adherence to therapeutic regimen, economic status and medication adherence, and educational attainment and mental well–being. Therefore, therapeutic regimen adherence was found to have a positive impact on the well–being of the respondents. Collaborative team consisting ofendocrinologists, nurses, nutritionists, dieticians, exercise physiologists, and spiritual leaders is highly recommended for the intensive management of diabetes patients, thus, improving adherence and well–being</text>

<text>The purpose of this study is to explore the barriers that have an impact on the adherence to therapeutic regimen among Type II diabetics in Iligan City. Specifically, it attempted to evaluate if there’s a significant relationship among the patients’ length of diagnosis, blood sugar level, awareness of the disease, their relationship towards their doctors and the availability and accessibility to healthcare services as to their adherence to therapeutic regimen in terms of their medication, diet, exercise, lifestyle and stress reduction techniques. It also tried to examine if the patients’ profiles (age, gender, religion, civil status, educational attainment, work status, family monthly income, social support system and clinic) can influence their therapeutic regimen adherence. This study used the Descriptive Survey Method. 10 self-structured questionnaires derived from published questionnaires were given to 56 Type II diagnosed diabetes mellitus patients in the private and public clinics of Iligan City, selected through random sampling technique. Data generated by the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlations. Results from thesurvey showed that the patients’ accessibility to healthcare services and their social support system largely affect their medication adherence. Female and working patients are more diligent in taking their medication. Patients having their consultation in the public clinic and those with lower blood glucose level prove to have a better performance in lifestyle modification. Patients who are married, working, and who are more aware about their disease showed to be more effective in reducing stress than the other patients. Patients in thepublic clinic exercise more than those in the private clinics. Finally, the frequency in which the patients were doing exercise is greatly affected on how efficient their healthcare providers are</text>

Kunci: Metode magnetik, Panasbumi, Anomali medan magnetik total</text>
