The research aim was to test the ability of the potential osmotic solution and fungicides to reduce seed germination. Completely randomized design with two factors and three replications, i.e: PEG 6000 (w/v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60% (potential osmotic solution) and fungicide (active ingredients were pyraclostrobin + metiram ) (g / 1 kg seed): 0 g, 10 g, 20 g, 30 g and 40 g, were applied. The results showed that PEG 30% can inhibit seed germination up to 9.07% and 37.47% and fungicides 40 g/1kg can reduce fungal attack during storage of 12 and 16 days.  Combination of PEG-6000 30% and fungicides 40g / 1 kg could maintain seed storability by pressing the seeds germination up to 10.67% and fungal attacks up to 18.00% during storage of 16 days with 96.80% germination.</text>

<text>Rubber seeds have no dormancy, germinate rapidly and fungal growth is the limiting factor influencing storage period of seed viability. Solution of Polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) have osmotic potential and osmotic adjustment that is used as a coating material is expected to be a preservative during storage. The purpose of this study was to test the effect of polyethylene glycol 6000 in inducing secondary dormancy by reducing the seeds germination and fungus growth to maintain the seed viability in storage period and to test seed viability and vigor after storage period. First stage of the study was using nonfactorial completely randomized design with four levels of polyethylene glycol with four replications, namely:PEG 6000 (w / v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%; The second step, was germination phase in germination tub after the storage period. The first study showed that concentration of 15% PEG 6000 to 45% were able to induced secondary dormancy by delaying seed germination from 0.67% to 0.33%, that significantly different from the 0% PEG 6000 (17.67%) that was able to reduced fungal seed from 16.33 to 26.33% andwas not significantly different in each treatment. The second study showed that PEG 6000 can maintain viability and vigor of seeds with seed germination above 97%, seedlings height 22.40 cm and number of leaves was 7.16. PEG 30% is the best concentration to increase the shelf life period of rubber seed andmaintained morphological characteristics after storage period. The higher the concentration of PEG 6000 the higher were the seed viability during shelf. The morphology and growth of the seedlings, had the same adaptability to the tub germination in planting medium.</text>

The results showed that 80% acetone extracts had both the highest contents of total phenolics and flavonoids. Acetone extracts showed better antibacterial activities against Gram-positive bacterial strains and there were no inhibitory effects found on tested Gram-negative bacteria. In addition, 80% acetone extracts from R. rubescens had relatively higher antibacterial activities with the lowest values of MIC and MBC at 2.5 mg/mL and 5 mg/mL against B. subtilis. The antibacterial mechanism of 80% acetone extracts against Bacillus subtilis might be described as disrupting cell wall, increasing cell membrane permeability, and finally leading to the leakage of cell constituents</text>

"Selama ini nilai ekspor minyak atsiri Indonesia saat ini berada di angka 160,39 juta dollar Amerika Serikat dan Aceh merupakan pemasok nilam sekitar 15 sampai 20 persen dari volume produksi 2.382 ton," sebut Hurum bersama Koordinator tim, Chindy Maulizar. <text>The world now is facing two energy related threats which are lack of sustainable, secure and affordable energy supplies and the environmental damage acquired in producing and consuming ever-increasing amount of energy. In the first decade of the twenty-first century, increasing energy prices reminds us that an affordable energy plays an important role in economic growth and human development. To overcome the abovementioned problem, we cannot continue much longer to consume finite reserves of fossil fuels, the use of which contributes to global warming. Preferably, the world should move towards more sustainable energy sources such as wind energy, solar energy and biomass. However, the abovementioned challenges may not be met solely by introduction of sustainable energy forms. We also need to use energy more efficiently. Developing and introducing more efficient energy conversion technologies is therefore important, for fossil fuels as well as renewable fuels. This assignment addresses the question how biomass may be used more efficiently and economically than it is being used today. Wider use of biomass, a clean and renewable feedstock may extend the lifetime of our fossil fuels resources and alleviate global warming problems. Another advantage of using of biomass as a source of energy is to make developed countries less interdependent on oil-exporting countries, and thereby reduce political tension. Furthermore, the economies of agricultural regions growing energy crops benefit as new jobs are created. Keywords: energy, gasification, sustainable, wet biomass</text>

<text>AbstractA field experiment to evaluate the effect of variety and Trichoderma harzianum compost doses which riches on the growth and yield of red chilli was carried out at the Experimental Farm Agricultural Faculty Syiah Kuala University, from May 2013 through to January 2014. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Factorial Design with two replications. The treatment one consisted of three variety i.e.: F-1 Paramas 201, Ferosa var CA. 237 and Kheng Aik, the treatment two consisted of four doses T. harzianum compost i.e.: control, 10 g per plant, 20 per plant and 30 g per plant. The result showed that the variety and T. harzianum compost doses increased growth and yield of red chilli, and the variety F-1 Paramas 201 was found to give the highest plant, long fruit, height per fruit, fruit number per plant and fruit weight per plant and dosage of 20 g per plant of T. harzianum compost was found to give the fruit number per plant, height per fruit and fruit weight per plant.Key words : red chilli, variety, T. harzianum, Capsicum annuum</text>
