                <text>Evaluation of Resistance to Fusarium at Seedling Stage of  Several Hybrids Gladiolus Bakhtiar, Hajrial Aswidinnoor, dan Toto Sutater ABSTRACTOne of the major problems in flower and corms production of gladiolus is wilt diseases and corm rot caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. gladiolii. Therefore, the development of resistant gladiolus cultivars through breeding programs is highly desired to overcome these diseases. The seedling tests make it possible to obtain new gladiolus cultivars with high levels of fusarium resistance. The objective of this experiment were to develop a seedling test for early selection of Fusarium resistance in gladiolus and to evaluate the levels of fusarium resistance of hybrids produced at seedling stage. Screening for fusarium resistance in seedling populations that using ± 103 propagules per gram of soil could be conducted at 8 weeks after sowing. Queen Occer x 623-1, 646-15 x 623-1 and 623-1 x Queen Occer crosses gave more resistant progeny than the others.  </text>

                <text>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana efektifitas pembelajaran koperatif Model Jigsaw II dalam meningkatkan keahlian berkomunikasi, sikap dan prestasi akademik siswa dalam mata pelajaran ekonomi. Sebanyak 60 orang siswa Kelas XI dari sebuah Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Aceh dipilih sebagai sampel dalam kajian ini. Instrumen kajian adalah kuesioner dan ujian esei pencapaian. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa nilai Alfa Cronbach bagi semua konstruk keahlian berkomunikasi dan sikap terhadap mata pelajaran ekonomi berada pada tingkat kepercayaan yang tinggi, yaitu antara 0,848 dan 0,817. Analisis statistik inferensi yaitu ujian-t, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Korelasi Pearson dan Regresi digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis pada tingkat signifikan p &amp;lt; 0,05, dengan menggunakan Program SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Hasil kajian uji-t, ANOVA, regresi dan korelasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan keahlian berkomunikasi siswa dan sikap terhadap prestasi akademik siswa dalam mata pelajaran ekonomi antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.</text>

                <text>The combination of O2, CO2, and low concentrations of CO in CO-MAP has repeatedly been shown to increase the shelf-life of red meat products. Concentrations of CO2 of 30% has been shown to slow microbial growth while O2 preserves the natural color of red meat. The addition of low concentrations of CO (&lt;0.4%) preserves the color stability of the meat while allowing for lower levels of O2 which reduces the oxidative spoilage of the product. Shelf-life extension of 5 to 10 days above traditional MAP has been seen with CO-MAP technologies. The addition of active/smart films such as antimicrobial films and/or the combination of irradiation further extends the shelf-life of red meat. Undetectable levels of E. coli at storage temperatures as high as 10oC at 28 days have been shown with CO-MAP and irradiation.  </text>

                <text>(Feeding behavior of local cattle fed based ammoniation rice straw with different feeding method)ABSTRACT. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of feeding methods on feeding behavior include the frequency and duration of eating time, the frequency and the duration of rumination for one day, night and daytime. The study used twenty of local cattle feeder males (Peranakan Ongole) with an age range of 1.5 – 2 years old and initial weight were 200-273 kg. They were fed randomly with four feeding methods of top concentrate, component feeding, total mixed ration (TMR) and free choice. Thus, completely randomized design was used for this study. Data length of eating and rumination time was analyzed using analysis of variance and continuities by honestly significant difference test (HSD). The frequency of eating and rumination were analyzed using Chi square. The results showed that the treatments affect significantly (P &lt; 0.05) on spent of eating night; rumination daytime and night spent, but had no effect (P&gt;0,05) on spent of eating one day, spent of eating daytime and spent of rumination  for one day. Rumination frequency one day, daytime, and night were not affected (P &gt; 0.05) by feeding method. Night rumination of feeder cattle groups fed with TMR method were longer ( P &lt; 0.05 ) compared to feeder cattle groups fed with Component Feeding and Free Choice method, but it was similar ( P &gt; 0.05 ) to feeder cattle groups fed with Top Concentrate. Between the groups feeder cattle fed with Component feeding and Free Choice were not significantly different ( P &gt; 0.05 ).</text>

                <text>Supplementation of molasses to improve the quality of rice straw ammonization and its effect on fermentation product in-vitroABSTRACT. Aimed of this research was to find out the optimal level of molasses addition at straw rice ammonization process to N-NH3 production, VFA and microbe protein synthesis. Material used was rumen fluid of fistula cattle, rice straw, water, urea and molasses. Treatment tried was level of molasses addition 0%, 15% and 30% on rice straw which given urea. Research was carried out by experimental method as in vitro, was conducted use completely randomized design. Variable measured were N-NH3, VFA and microbe protein synthesis. Intake data entered in data tabulation and analyzed variance then continued by orthogonal polynomial test. Research result after ammonization indicated that acidity level and concentration of released NH3 decrease parallel with addition of molasses level, and also increase the nutrient content which was crude protein increase and crude fiber decrease. Variance analysis and Test of orthogonal polynomial result indicated that treatment of molasses addition have highly significant effect (P&lt;0.01) and linier respond to concentration of released NH3 after ammonization. Research result as in vitro indicated concentration N-NH3 and VFA total decrease while microbe protein synthesis increase. Variance analysis result indicated that molasses addition treatment at straw rice ammonization process have highly significant (P &lt; 0.01) on concentration of N-NH3, VFA total and Microbe Protein Synthesis. Test of orthogonal polynomial for molasses addition at straw rice ammonization process indicated linier respond on concentration of NH3 N-NH3 and VFA total, but microbe protein synthesis quadratic had respond (P &lt; 0,01) white regression equation Y= 52.187-1.089222X + 0.11X2 (r2) 87.27 and (r) 0.9341. Research result could conclude that molasses addition up to level 30% able to improve quality of straw rice ammonization process by NH3 fixation so that increase nutrient ingredient, decrease NH3 that lost to atmosphere, improve utilization of N-NH3 and VFA and also increase microbe protein synthesis.</text>

                <text>The effect of molasses on ammoniated straw by using urea on dry and organic matter digestibility as in vitroABSTRACT. Aimed of this research was to find out the optimal level of molasses addition to improve quality, dry matter and organic matter digestibility of rice straw ammonization process. Materials used were rumen fluid of fistula cattle, grind of rice straw, water, urea and molasses. Research designed used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). As treatments were R0: rice straw 1000 g dry matter + 500 g water + 50 g urea + 0 percent of molasses, R1: R0 + 15 percent of molasses, R2: R0 + 30 percent of molasses. Urea and molasses dissolved in water and then entered into pollybag. All pollybag observe and let for 15 days, each treatment replicated 6 times. Variable measured were dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility. Research result showed that ammonization product of NH3, Acidity Level and crude fiber having decreased while crude protein content increased. Variance analysis indicated that treatments had significant effect (P&lt;0.05) on dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Orthogonal polynomial test indicated that level of molasses increase (P&lt;0.05) of dry matter and organic matter digestibility linearly. It can be concluded that addition up to 30 percent in ammoniating of rice straw using urea can improve quality of ammonization and increasing dry matter and organic matter digestibility.</text>

                <text>Abstract. Nusa Penida is one of the marine protected area in Bali Province. The location has a potency higher as tourist destination. Hence, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the potency and benafit of the this marine protected area as a marine ecotourism. The study was conducted in September 2012 to February 2013. The descriptive quantitative method was used in the study, the data collection was covered the percent cover of corals communities, corals mortality index, marine ecotourism sustainable index, carrying capacity of marine ecotourism. The results of this research showed that the percent cover of corals communities at Nusa Penida was categorized  from good to very good  ranged between 52.00% to 97.00% with corals mortality index ranged between 0.00 to 0.01 at a depth of 3 meters and between 0.00 to 0.025 at 10 meters depth. The marine protected area of Nusa Penida is suitable for  diving activity snorkeling,and beach ecotourism with carrying capacity for diving was 153 people/day, snorkling 212 people/day, and beach ecotourism 122 people/day. The marine protected area of Nusa Penida gave impact on increasing of human well being of society in Nusa Penida with increasing the revenue  10%-30%. and also gave profits the Klungkung Regency. Nusa Penida adalah salah satu kawasan area konservasi laut di Bali yang berpotensi tinggi menjadi salah satu tujuan wisatawan. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana manfaat kawasan ini sebagai kawasan wisata bahari. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2012 sampai Februari 2013. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis perhitungan persen tutupan komunitas karang, indeks mortalitas, indeks kesesuaian ekowisata bahari, daya dukung kawasan ekowisata bahari, evaluasi tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persen tutupan karang di Nusa Penida dikategorikan dari baik sampai sangat baik yaitu berkisar antara 52,00%-97,00% dengan indeks mortalitas berkisar antara 0,00 – 0,01 pada kedalaman 3 meter dan  0,00-0,025 pada kedalaman 10 meter. Oleh karena itu kawasan konservasi Nusa Penida sesuai untuk aktivitas wisata selam, snorkling, dan wisata pantai dengan daya dukung kawasan untuk selam 153 orang/hari, snorkling 212 orang/hari dan ekowisata pantai sebanyak 122 orang/hari. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kawasan konservasi Nusa Penida memberi dampak terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat sebagai pekerja wisata dengan bertambahnya pendapatan sebesar 10%-30%  dan juga menambah pemasukan daerah Kabupaten Klungkung.Kata Kunci :  Ekowisatata Bahari; Kawasan Konservasi; Manfaat; Nusa Penida</text>
