The experiment was conducted to study agronomy characteristics and mycorrhiza effectiveness of upland rice in green house with various levels of AMF inoculants and mulch dosage application. The pot of experiment was carried out in the green house of Agricultural Faculty, The University of Lampung from October 2004 untill February 2005. The experiment used randomized complit block design arranged in factorial pattern with two factors. The first factor was dosages of mulch (0, 5, 10, and 15 ton ha-1) and the second factor was AMF inoculants dosages which consist of four levels, those were 0, 25, 50, and 75 g pot-1. The result of this experiment showed that dosages of mulch and AMF inoculants affect to agronomy characteristics and mycorrhiza effectiveness of upland rice in the green house. Hama pengisap polong adalah hama utama yang dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil tanaman kedelai baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan efektivitas insektisida botani pada beberapa varietas kedelai terhadap serangan hama pengisap polong tanaman kedelai. Species hama pengisap polong yang dijumpai pada tanaman kedelai di lapangan adalah: Riptortus linearis dan Nezara viridula.  Ada tiga jenis N. viridula yang teridentifikasi yaitu N. viridula var. torguata, N. viridula var. aurantiaca, dan N. viridula var. smaragdula.  Insektisida botani yang digunakan pada penelitian ini memiliki kemampuan yang bervariasi dalam mengendalikan hama pengisap polong pada tanaman kedelai.  Ekstrak daun Tephrosia vogelii dan Azadirachta indica dapat menurunkan intensitas kerusakan yang lebih ringan dan berimplikasi pada meningkatnya komponen hasil dibandingkan dengan menggunakan ekstrak daun dan bunga Lantana camara.  Ada perbedaan resistensi varietas Kipas Merah dan Anjasmoro terhadap kerusakan oleh hama pengisap polong yang ditunjukkan dalam hal perbedaan intensitas kerusakan, jumlah trikoma, dan hasil.  Tingkat kerusakan polong antara varietas Kipas Merah dan Anjasmoro disebabkan karakteristik dalam hal jumlah trikoma, luas permukaan polong, and jumlah polong per cabang. Jumlah trikoma pada varitas Kipas Merah adalah 41,6 trichomes/4 mm2 dan lebih banyak dibandingkan varietas Anjasmoro yaitu sebesar 29,1 trichomes/4 mm2.  Efficacy Some Botanical Insecticides for Controlling Pest Pod Sucking in Soybean FieldsABSTRACT. Pod sucking bugs are the important pest that can causing yield loss soybean on quality and quantity. Mutu baja yang digunakan untuk tulangan pokok dan tulangan geser sebesar (fy) 407,43 MPa, tulangan tarik yang digunakan berdiameter 15,8 mm ulir, tulangan tekan diameter 11,9 mm ulir dan tulangan geser diameter 11,9 mm ulir. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semua balok mengalami gagal lentur sesuai yang direncanakan. Lendutan maksimum didapat pada serat polypropylene dengan persentase peningkatan besarnya lendutan terhadap BMT tanpa penambahan serat sebesar 306,56% dengan beban maksimum 199,53 kN, sedangkan untuk balok BMT serat kawat bendrat lendutan meningkat sebesar 160,52% dengan beban 203,26 kN dan pada balok BMT serat karet ban bekas lendutan yang terjadi meningkat sebesar 184,56% dengan beban 194,14 kN. Daktilitas balok BMT serat polypropylene terjadi peningkatan daktilitas terhadap balok BMT tanpa serat sebesar 298,9%, balok BMT serat kawat bendrat meningkat sebesar 148,0%, sedangkan balok BMT serat karet ban bekas meningkat sebesar 178,3%. An ecological study of aquatic weed for biomonitoring trophic status of water reservoir system was conducted in Rawa Pening Water Reservoir, Ambarawa, Semarang Regency. This research was conducted from February to October 2006. Variables of study were taken from nine selected observation stations representing upstream, middle, and downstream both in wet season and dry season. The study was aimed to investigate the diversity of aquatic weed in Rawa Pening Water Reservoir at the three zones in both season in order to obtain bioindicator for trophic status of water reservoir ecosystem. The analysis on community structure of aquatic weed was carried out by describing data on the diversity of aquatic weed species. The similarity of aquatic weed characteristics among zones was analyzed on the basis of average similarity dendogram. The variation of water quality and aquatic weed characteristics among stations was analyzed using multivariate analysis based on the analysis of main component, while spatial distribution of aquatic weed was analyzed using correspondence factorial analysis. Based on the variation of characteristics of water quality, Rawa Pening Water Reservoir belongs to eutrophic status. Low diversity of aquatic weed in Rawa Pening Water Reservoir both in wet season and dry season (12 species) was observed. The dominant species in both season were Eichhornia crassipes and Salvinia natans. Other species found were Hydrilla verticillata, Pistia stratiotes, Chara sp., Nitella sp., Ipomoea aquatic, Cyperus cephalotes, C. pilosus, Alternanthera philoxeroides, Nymphoides indica, and Sacciolepis interrupta. Both in wet season and dry season, spatial distribution on the basis of aquatic macrophyte weed was evenly distributed and had grouping pattern of sufficienly high similarity (> 70%). The group tended to be dominated by E. crassipes and S. natans.
