Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 5 ulangan. Rata-rata atom% 15N di dalam tanah dipengaruhi oleh kedalaman dan waktu pengamatan (P<0.001). Pemberian pupuk 15N secara terpisah dan injeksi pada kedalam yang berbeda meningkatkan 15N yang terdeteksi di dalam tanah dan didalam tanaman. Rata-rata dugaan %Ndfa tanaman Gliricidia menggunakan atom% 15N yang terdeteksi di daun adalah 57.3±4.2 (rentang dari 44.9 hingga 68.7%) and 52.8±5.7% (38.5 – 67.7%), dengan cacao dan kopi sebagai reference. Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang nyata antara waktu dan saat pengamatan pada pendugaan %Ndfa antara kedua reference. Cacao menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik sebagai reference dibandingkan kopi dalam menduga %Ndfa Gliricidia pada sistem agroforestri yang diteliti. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan enam perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Setiap kelompok perlakuan kecuali kontrol (P0) diberi paparan EPEC secara oral sebagai penginduksi diare sebanyak 6,0x108CFU/mL selama 7 hari. Perlakuan terdiri atas kontrol tidak diiinfeksi dengan EPEC (P0), kontrol positif yang diinfeksi dengan EPEC tanpa pemberian Nifuroxazide dan air seduhan kelopak bunga rosela(P1). Perlakuan P2,P3, P4 dan P5 dilanjutkan dengan pemberian 500mL/70 kg bb Nifuroxazide (P2), 250 mL/kg bb seduhan kelopak bunga rosela (P3), 500 mL/kg bb seduhan kelopak bunga rosela (P4) dan 750 mL/kg bb seduhan kelopak bunga rosela (P5). Perlakuan diberikan secara oral dari hari ke-8 hingga ke-11 sesuai dengan pemberian antibiotik standar. Parameter yang diamati adalah frekuensi defekasi diamati setiap 30 menit selama 5 jam. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan air seduhan kelopak rosela mempengaruhi frekuensi defekasi mencit diare akibat EPEC dan dosis terkecil sudah mampu menurunkan frekuensi defekasi dari mencit diare akibat infeksi EPEC.Kata kunci : Hibiscus sabdariffa L., EPEC, Frekuensi defekasiABSTRACTThis study was perfomed to examine the antidiarrhea activities of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. calyx infusion caused by Enterophatogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) in white mice. Completely randomized design was applied of this research consisted six treatments and four replications of each treatment. Each group were infected orally by 6,0x108CFU/mL of EPEC for 7 days. Control was not infected by EPEC (P0) and infected by EPEC (P1). Antibiotic Nifuroxazide 500 mL/70kg body weight as comparison (P2), and given Hibiscus sabdariffa L. calyx infusion at a dose of 250 mL/kg body weight(P3), 500 mL/kg body weight (P4), and 750 mL/kg body weight (P5). Treatments given orally from 8th to 11th according to standar of antibiotic. Parameter were frequency of defecation observed every 30 minutes for 5 hours. Data analized by ANAVA and continued with Duncan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di laboratorium mikroteknik Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh, mulai bulan Juni sampai November 2013. Metode eksploratif digunakan dalam penelitian ini terhadap empat ekor musang. Segmen duodenum, jejunum, dan ileum dibuat menjadi sediaan histologis melalui metode parafin dengan pewarnaan HE dan PAS. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan gambar. Proporsi panjang usus halus P. hermaphroditus adalah empat sampai lima kali panjang tubuh. Panjang usus halus mengalami peningkatan sejalan dengan peningkatan berat usus halus dan berat tubuh. Dinding ketiga segmen tersusun atas lapisan mukosa, submukosa, tunika muskularis, dan serosa. Urutan ketebalan lapisan penyusun jejunum dan ileum dari tebal ke tipis berturut-turut adalah mukosa, tunika muskularis, submukosa, dan serosa. Submukosa dan tunika muskularis pada duodenum memiliki persentase yang hampir sama. Setiap segmen dapat memiliki 0 sampai 8 plika. Sel enteroendokrin terdapat dalam kripta duodenum. Peyer patch terdapat di lamina propria dan tunika submukosa pada jejunum dan ileum. Tunika muskularis tersusun atas otot polos sirkuler pada bagian dalam dan longitudinal bagian luar. Tunika serosa terdiri atas lapisan mesotelium. Hasil pewarnaan PAS, karbohidrat terdistribusi pada striated border, sel goblet, kelenjar lieberkuhn, dan kelenjar brunner dengan menunjukkan warna magenta. Sel goblet yang sedang bermitosis memperlihatkan intensitas warna magenta yang rendah.Kata kunci: Paradoxurus hermaphroditus, usus halus, struktur mikroskopis, dan distribusi karbohidrat.ABSTRACTThis research aimed to know the microscopic structure and distribution of carbohydrates in small intestine of Paradoxurus hermaphroditus. The research had been conducted in the microtechnic laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh, from June to November 2013. Explorative design was applied to the research of four P. hermaphroditus. Duodenum, jejunum, and ileum segment were made into histological slide in paraffin method and staining in HE and PAS. The data was analyzed descriptively and presented in tables and figures. The length of small intestine proportion is four to five times the body length. The length of small intestine gradually increased with small intestine mass and body mass. The layer of three segments are composed by mucosa, submucosa, tunica muscularis, and serosa. The order of constituent layers thickness in jejunum and ileum from the thickest to thinnest are mucosa, tunica muscularis, submucosa, and serosa. Submucosa and tunica muscularis in duodenal have almost the same percentage. Each segment could has 0 to 8 plicae. Enteroendocrine cells present in duodenal crypts. Peyer patch is found in lamina propria and submucosa of jejunum and ileum. Circular smooth muscle in inner part and longitudinal in outer part of tunica muscularis. The serosa consists of mesothelium. The carbohydrate distribution of PAS staining appeared in magenta color in striated border, goblet cell, lieberkuhn, and brunner gland. Efektivitas herbisida dalam mengendalikan gulma sangat ditentukan oleh faktor jenis dan dosis herbisida.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jenis dan dosis yang tepat untuk mengendalikan gulma pada tanaman kedelai kultivar argomulyo. Jenis herbisida yang digunakan adalah: clomazone dan pendimethalin, sedangkan dosis yang digunakan adalah: 0; 0,75; 1.50; dan 2,25 kg b.a.ha-1. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok bifaktorial.  Peubah yang diamati adalah: persentase pengendalian gulma, persentase penutupan gulma, dan jenis gulma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis herbisida sebanyak 2,25 kg b.a.ha-1 dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma Cleome rutidospermae dan Ipomoea triloba serta menurunkan persentase penutupan gulma. Herbisida pendimethalin dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma Cleome rutidospermae.The Application of Herbicide Clomazone and Pendimethalin on Argomulyo Cultivar of Soybean: I. Weed CharacteristicABSTRACT. The effectiveness of herbicide to control weeds is determined by type and dosage of herbicide.  This research aimed was to study the accurate type and dosage of herbicide to control weeds on soybean of argomulyo cultivar. Herbicide type and dosage tested were clomazone and pendimethalin, and 0; 0.75; 1.50; and 2.25 kg a.e.ha-1 respectively. To understand the effect of both factors on the effectiveness of herbicide, Randomized Completely Block Design was employed.  The variables observed were weed control percentage, weed coverage percentage, and weed species. The result showed that application 2.25 kg a.e.ha-1 of herbicide increase the percentage of weed control on Cleome rutidospermae and Ipomoea triloba but decreases weed coverage percentage. Meanwhile pendimethalin herbicide simply raises the control percentage of Cleome rutidospermae. A research about study of indigenous knowledge of euphorbiaceae as medicinal plant by Acehness people was done on June until October 2007. The research was carried on 9 district of Banda Aceh city which aimed to get the knowledge from acehness people about medicinal effect of euphorbiaceae plant such as: Euphorbia pulcherrima, Euphorbia hirta, Phyllanthus urinaria, Ricinus communis, Aleurites molucccana, Manihot esculenta, Jatrophe curcas, Codiaeum variegatum, dan Hevea brasilensis. The method used was PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) which purposive sampling for respondences: keuchik, tuha peut, dan tabib on every villages. The parameters of this research was: the kinds of disease, organ of plant used, mixing way of medicine, and how to use. The result showed that from 455 respondents, all of them, have the indigenous knowledge about Jatropha curcas as medicinal plant. Contrary of Euphorbia pulcherrima, Manihot esculenta, Codiaeum variegatum, and Hevea brasilensis are unknown as medicinal plant. Phyllanthus urinaria is the most species used, because can heal 10 disease.
