Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah mata tunas dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan jarak pagar serta ada tidaknya interaksi antara kedua factor tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh yang berlangsung sejak 8 Oktober sampai dengan 8 Desember 2007. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial. Ada 2 faktor yang diteliti, factor pertama adalah Jumlah mata tunas (J) dan factor kedua adalah Media tanam (M) yang masing-masing terdiri dari 3 taraf dengan 3 ulangan. Pengamatan yang diamati adalah jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, jumlah daun per tunas, jumlah daun per setek, jumlah akar dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah mata tunas berpengaruh sangat nyata pada pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar. Jumlah mata tunas terbaik diperoleh pada 12 mata tunas (T2). Komposisi media tanam juga mempengaruhi pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar dan media tanam terbaik dijumpai pada komposisi media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam (M1) dan terdapat interaksi antara keduanya  sedangkan kombinasi terbaik terdapat pada jumlah mata tunas 14 dengan media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam  (M3T1)Effect of  Buds and Composition of Planting Media to the Growth of  Jatropha Plants Cutting (Jatropha curcas L.)ABSTRACT. The pedological feature of paddy soils are different from the non paddy cultivated. The aim of the research were: to study the pedofeatures of paddy soils in a toposequence on volcanic materials in the Bogor – Jakarta area; to study the influence of paddy cultivated intensity of pedofeatures. Twelve pedons of different altitude (90 – 650 m above see level) and different paddy cultivated intensity (0/year, 1/year, 2/year) were investigated, each horizons were sampled for laboratory analysis to study the pedofeatures. The result of the research showed that on non paddy cultivated, pedofeature observed at B horizon is indicating rock weathering. On 1x paddy, at tillage layer nodules and hypocoating were found. On 2x paddy, at plow plan layer clay infilling dense complete was found. Hasil maserasi bunga kamboja putih dengan pelarut n-heksana menghasilkan ekstrak bewarna kuning dengan berat sebesar 21,06 g dengan rendemen ekstrak yaitu 2,78 %. Ekstrak n-heksana dipisahkan dengan Kromatografi Kolom Cair Vakum (KKCV) sehingga diperoleh 7 kelompok fraksi gabungan yaitu fraksi A (0,38 g), fraksi B (0,31 g), fraksi C (5,83 g), fraksi D (3,83 g), fraksi E (1,92 g), fraksi F (1,42 g), dan fraksi G (0,3 g). Ekstrak kasar dan fraksi-fraksi yang diperoleh diuji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. aureus dan E.coli dengan metode Kirby-Bauer menggunakan cakram dengan konsentrasi 1%, 10%, 20%, kontrol positif (kloramfenicol), dan kontrol negatif (n-heksana). Hasil uji aktivitas antimikrobial menunjukkan bahwa fraksi G memiliki potensi sebagai antimikrobial terhadap bakteri S.aureus dan E.coli dengan nilai zona hambat masing-masing pada kosentrasi 20% adalah 14,2 mm dan 9,1 mm. Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MIN Baturalang Kecamatan Teupah Selatan Kabupaten Simeulue. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 9 orang guru dan 15 orang siswa, yaitu kelas IV 5 orang, V 5 orang, dan VI 5 orang yang diambil secara purposive sampling (sampel bertujuan). Untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini digunakan instrumen wawancara, dan setelah data terkumpul melalui wawancara langsung dengan informan, selanjutnya data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian: (1) Kualitas Penyediaan Makanan Tambahan untuk Anak Sekolah (PMT-AS) sudah sesuai dengan standar gizi yang disyaratkan oleh pemerintah dan (2) Prestasi belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah pelaksanaan program Penyediaan Makanan Tambahan Anak Sekolah (PMT-AS) terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan. Simpulan: (1) Kualitas Penyediaan Makanan Tambahan untuk Anak Sekolah (PMT-AS) sudah sangat baik sesuai dengan standar gizi yang disyaratkan oleh pemerintah dan bahan kudapannya juga berasal dari pangan lokal setempat dan (2) Prestasi belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah pelaksanaan program Penyediaan Makanan Tambahan Anak Sekolah (PMT-AS) sebelum pemberian kudapan sangat rendah atau kurang, akan tetapi setelah pemberian kudapan prestasi mereka menjadi semakin meningkat dan semangat belajar mereka juga mencapai peningkatan yang optimal. Saran: (1) Diharapkan kepada pemerintah agar dapat meneruskan program Penyediaan Makanan Tambahan Anak Sekolah (PMT-AS) ini dalam rangka upaya meningkatkan ketahanan fisik, gizi, dan kualitas peserta didik di masa yang akan datang dan (2) Diharapkan kepada pihak sekolah agar dapat menyediakan kudapan yang sesuai dengan standar gizi, sehingga prestasi belajar peserta didik menjadi semakin meningkat.
