Pemberian ASI pada bayi merupakan makanan terbaik yang diberikan untuk bayi dalam usia 6 bulan pertama, dan mulai usia 6 bulan bayi mendapat makanan pendamping ASI (MP-ASI). Fenomena yang terjadi dimasyarat adalah ibu lebih memilih memberikan MP-ASI dini (pada usia kurang dari 6 bulan) karena menganggap dapat memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi bayi.Tujuan. Untuk mengetahui hubungan pemberian makanan pendamping ASI dengan status gizi bayi usia 7-12 bulan di Posyandu Puskesmas Singkil Kabupaten Aceh Singkil.Metode. Penelitian analitik observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional, dilakukan pada 73 responden pada tanggal 1-30 November 2012. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner dan melihat kartu menuju sehat (KMS).Hasil. Dari 73 responden hasil uji chi-square ada hubungan pemberian MP-ASI dengan status gizi bayi, nilai P value 0,001 (? ? 0,05), ada hubungan frekuensi pemberian MP-ASI dengan status gizi bayi, nilai P value 0,004 (? ? 0,05). Hasil uji Fisher Exact ada hubungan jenis MP-ASI dengan status gizi bayi, nilai P value 0,047 (? ? 0,05), tidak ada hubungan riwayat pemberian ASI dengan status gizi bayi, nilai P value 0,450 (? > 0,05). Hasil uji Mann Whitney ada hubungan status gizi bayi yang diberi ASI eksklusif selama 6 bulan dengan bayi yang mendapat MP-ASI dini dengan nilai P value 0,001 (? ? 0,05).Kesimpulan.
