Spodoptera litura is a polyphagus and primery pest on many plants. This insect can be infected by nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV) and tropical yam was knowingly capable of controlling the insect. The research was aimed at finding an effective concentration of combination of SlNPV and tropical yam extract on mortality of S. litura larva. The research was conducted in Plant Pest Laboratory of Plant Pest and Disease Departemen, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. The experiment applied a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of six treatments and four replications. The treatment were in SlNPV concentrations of 0, 3x105, 3x106, 3x107, 3x108, and 3x109 polyhedra inclusion body/ml respectively, combined with poisonous for gadung extract in concentration of 120 ml L-1. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at level of 0,05. The result showed that application of combination of SlNPV and tropical yam extract was effective and compatible in controlling S. litura. In general, mortality of S. litura was significantly different than control. Mortality of S. litura at all treatments of concentration except S1 and S0 were 100 per cent at 9,8,8, and 7 day after application (DAA). Average of the fastest larvae mortality was 5,46 days given by 3x109 polyhedra inclusion body ml L-1 and the longest was 7,38 days given by control. Treatments of combination of SlNPV and tropical yam extract at concentration of 3x107, 3x108, and 3x109 was compatible and effective in controlling S. litura larvae with mortality level of 85,95, and 100 per cent at 7 DAA, respectively. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji lebih mendalam tingkat bahaya erosi yang terjadi di Sub DAS Krueng Jreu DAS Krueng Aceh Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survai dengan cara observasi langsung ke lapangan. Erosi dihitung dengan menggunakan persamaan USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) yang dikemukakan oleh Wischmeier dan Smith pada tahun 1978. Metode ini mengamati beberapa aspek, seperti erosivitas, erodibilitas, faktor panjang dan kemiringan lereng dan faktor pengelolaan tanaman dengan tindakan konservasinya. Secara garis besar penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, meliputi : (1) pengumpulan data dan penyiapan peta kerja, (2) pelaksanaan kegiatan lapangan dan (3) analisis tanah dan interpretasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dilokasi penelitian terdapat sembilan satuan peta lahan (SPL) dengan total luas areal 22.796,22 hektar. Erosi aktual dan erosi potensial terbesar terdapat pada SPL 3 yaitu 1.390,21 ton ha-1 th-1 dan 4.634,05 ton ha-1 th-1. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada lahan gambut pada agrosistem kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir, Sumatera Selatan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menduga cadangan karbon gambut. Prediksi cadangan karbon adalah sebesar 1,675.361 - 9.055,922 ton C ha-1. The Prediction of Peatland Carbon Stocks in Oil Palm AgroecosystemsABSTRACT. The role of peat on degraded land becomes extremely important and valuable, for being the last carbon stocks because of the loss of vegetation due to deforestation and forest fires. This research was conducted in peatlands that have been used for oil palm agro-ecosystem, Ogan Komering Ilir District,  South Sumatra. The purpose of the study was to estimate carbon stocks in peatlands. The results showed that the peat depth ranged from 200 to 850 cm, the bulk density between 0.211 to 0.347 g cm-3 and the organic C content of approximately 56.30 -58.31%. The prediction of carbon stock ranged from 1.675,361 ton C ha-1 to 9.055,922 ton C ha-1. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan bauran pemasaran keripik ubi yang digunakan pedagang pengecer di Bireuen dan Saree serta untuk menganalisis perbedaan keuntungan rata-rata yang diperoleh pedagang pengecer di Bireuen dan Saree. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode analisis deskriptif dan analisis kuantitatif. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan bauran pemasaran keripik ubi yang digunakan pedagang pengecer di Bireuen dan di Saree, untuk produk perbedaan terdapat pada bentuk , variasi rasa dan warna, daya tahan, ukuran kemasan, bahan kemasan, cara pengemasan, dan jumlah keripik ubi yang dipasok. Pada harga yaitu daftar harga (harga beli dan harga jual), serta pemotongan harga. Pada tempat yaitu letak tempat berdagang. Dan pada promosi yaitu bentuk kegiatan promosi yang dilakukan pedagang pengecer. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universiity Farm Lampahan, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Mekar Ayu, Timang Gajah, Bener Meriah, Aceh. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Maret sampai Juli 2013. Faktor-faktor yang diteliti adalah jarak tanam dan jumlah bibit per lubang tanaman. Faktor jarak tanam terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu 20 cm x 15 cm, 20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 25 cm dan 20 cm x 30 cm. Faktor jumlah benih terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 1, 2 dan 3 biji per lubang tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jarak tanam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap bobot butir per plot dan produksi hektar, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 15 HST. Jumlah benih berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap bobot butir per plot. Terdapat interaksi yang sangat nyata antara jarak dan jumlah benih per lubang tanam terhadap bobot butir per plot. Kombinasi perlakuan terbaik pada bobot butir per plot adalah jarak tanam 20 cm x 20 cm dan jumlah 3 benih per lubang tanam.The effect of distance and number of seeds planting hole-1 Plant Against Plant Growth and Yield of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the best spacing with the right amount of seeds as well as the interaction of these two factors on the growth and yield of wheat, in order to obtain growth and yield of wheat optimal. This research was conducted at the University Farm Lampahan Syiah Kuala University, Mekar Ayu, Timang Gajah, Bener Meriah, Aceh. This study was conducted from March to July 2013. Factors studied were plant spacing and number of seeds. Spacing factor consists of 4 levels, namely 20 cm x 15 cm, 20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 25 cm and 20 cm x 30 cm. Factor number seed consists of 3 levels ie 1, 2 and 3 seeds planting hole-1. Results showed that the spacing very significant effect on grain weight plot-1 and production hectare-1, significantly affect plant height age 15 HST. The number of seeds very significant effect on grain weigh plot-1. There is a very real interaction between spacing and number of seeds to grain weight plot-1. The best treatment combination on grain weight plot-1 is spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm and the number 3 seeds planting hole-1. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial, Faktor pertama adalah jenis media matriconditioning (abu gosok, serbuk gergaji dan arang sekam). Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi zat pengatur tumbuh (0 mL/L air, 1 mL/L air, 2 mL/L air dan 3 mL/L air). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jenis matriconditioning berpengaruh terhadap viabilitas benih cabai kadaluarsa terutama pada tolok ukur keserempakan tumbuh, indeks vigor, kecepatan tumbuh dan T50. Perlakuaan terbaik adalah arang sekam. Perlakuan konsentrasi ZPT berpengaruh terhadap viabilitas benih cabai kadaluarsa pada potensi tumbuh, daya berkecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, keserempakan tumbuh, indeks vigor dan T50. Perlakuan terbaik adalah konsentrasi ZPT 3 mL/L air. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara kedua perlakuan. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of N-hexane extract of the stem from Jatropha curcas were investigated. Antimicrobial activity was tested by using a diffusion method which each concentrations 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. The bacteria Salmonella typhii and fungi Candida sp were used. The results showed that extract inhibited both of S. typhii and Candida sp. Extracts at 50% concentration inhibit Candida sp with zones  inhibition 11 mm. Meanwhile extract at 30%-40% concentration inhibited S.typhii with zones inhibition 10 mm.
