Shortage of water in rice fields can be evaluated by the efficiency of existing irrigation.Based on the Indonesian‟s irrigation design criteria 65%, the project efficiency for Irrigation Planning is 65%. This value when compared to some countries in Asia was still much greater. This might be caused by undeterminating the water losses in the rice field. The study aims to determine the efficiency of irrigation in rice fields (Field Application Efficiency) is actually through direct measurements in the field, started at the land preparation up to the growth of rice plants. Measurements were taken at one tertiary JKr21Kr in Krueng Jreue Irrigation Region. To evaluate the efficiency of irrigation in ricefields used two methods of measurement. Inflow-outflow method for measuring the delivery of irrigation water in rice fields (Vf) which use the modified pipes that serves as the entrance and exit of water in the tertiary, the difference between incoming water and outgoing water is the amount of water used in rice fields. Water balance in the field is measured using Drum technique method with a diameter of 50 cm and height 125 cm. The drums are planted in the ground and a quarter of the height of the drum located above thesurface. By this equipment, the evapotranspiration parameters, percolation and effective rainfall can be obtained. These results showthat the efficiency of irrigation in rice fields (Ea) of 65.29%. It means that actually the project efficiency is 42.44% far below than Indonesian‟s criteria. Metode teknik drum padi untuk mengukur kebutuhan air di petak sawah (Vm), menggunakan 3 (tiga) buah drum dengan diameter 50 cm dan tinggi 125 cm. Drum ini berfungsi untuk mengukur parameter evapotranspirasi, perkolasi dan curah hujan efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan nilai efisiensi irigasi pada petak sawah (Ea) sebesar 59.57%. Hasil penelitian merekomendasikan efisiensi irigasi berdasarkan Standar Perencanaan Irigasi perlu diperhitungkan sampai ke petak sawah, sehingga di peroleh nilai efisiensi irigasi sebesar 38.72% dan efisiensi irigasi berdasarkan perencanaan menjadi sebesar 40.68%. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possibility of jaloh (Salix tetrasperma) leaf  powders as alternative raw material for tilapia fish feed. Four concentrations of jaloh leafe powders  (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%) were examined in this study. The experimental fish were fed three times a day on  08.00AM, 12.00AM and 17.00PM. with feeding ration of 5% of body weight for 42 days. The one-way Anova test showed that the different concentrations of jaloh leaf powders gave a significantly effect on growth performance of tilapia larvae (p< 0.05), but did not give a significant effect on their survival rate (p>0.05). The Duncans test showed that the higher growth performace and survival rate were found at 5-10% of jaloh leaf powders, it was indicated that diet with 5-10% jaloh leaf powders were better than control (without jaloh leaf powders). Therefore, it is concluded that the jaloh leaf powders is suitable as alternative raws material for tilapia formulated diet at concentration of 5-10%.  Key words: Protein, carbohydrate and alternative feed Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemungkinan pemanfaatan  tepung daun jaloh (S. tetrasperma) sebagai bahan baku alternatif untuk pakan ikan nila (Oreochormis niloticus). Dalam penelitian ini telah diuji beberapa tingkat proporsi tepung daun jaloh yaitu (0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15%). Pemberian pakan dilakukan tiga kali sehari, yaitu pada pukul 08.00, 12.00 dan 17.00 WIB. Ikan diberikan pakan sebanyak 5% dari berat bobot tubuhnya selama 42 hari. Hasil uji Anova satu arah menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun jaloh memberikan pengaruh nyata  terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan laju pertumbuhan harian benih ikan nila (p<0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidupnya (p>0,05). Uji lanjut Duncan menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun jaloh 5-10% dalam pakan memberikan hasil terbaik dari segi pertumbuhan mutlak, pertumbuhan harian dan kelangsungan hidup, dan hasil ini lebih baik berbanding kontrol (tanpa daun jaloh). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan tepung daun jaloh dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku alternatif dalam pakan ikan dengan kadar 5-10%. The objective of this study was to know potential of solid waste in Pelalawan district, Riau province. Research was carried out from December 2007 – January 2008 in Pelalawan district by using 4 factories of Elaeis guineensis (PKS). The four factories that were used for data collection were PT. Multi Palma Sejahtera (MPS), PT. Inti Indo Sawit Subur (IIS), PT. Sinar Agro Raya (SAR) and PT. Musim Mas (MM). The results of study showed that solid waste in Pelalawan district of Riau province had a great potential. Production of solid waste in Pelalawan district was around 76.176 tons/year and carrying capacity was 5.132 animals unit. Farmers will use solid waste at large quantity if they raise livestock in commercially, for instance for fattening purpose. The strategies which can be applied to maximize solid waste utilization are through partnership between farmers and factories or local government pihak PKS. Jambi soybean is one the soybean production centers of tidal swamp areas. This trial was aimed at evaluating of several soybean promising lines and selecting the most adaptable to tidal swamp growing areas in Jambi Province. There were 12 promising lines and 4 control varieties tested were G100H/SHR-60-38, SHR60/G100H-70, SHR60/G100H-75, G100H/TGM-D-1-3,G100H/TGM-D-1-16, MYP/G100H-D-2, and MYP/G100H-D-6. The control varieties were Wilis, Kaba, Anjasmoro, and Tanggamus. The trial was located at farmer’s field at Desa Bandar Jaya, Kecamatan Rantau Rasau, Tanjung Jabung Timur District, Jambi Province frol April to September 2008. The crop was grown at standard cultural practices for soybean with planting distance 40 by 15 cm and two seed per hole. Variables collect were germination rate, days to flower, plant height, days to maturity, number of productive branches, percentage of fertile seeds, one hundred seed weight, yield, pest, and disease infection. Result showed that all of tested lines and varieties had fairly good adaptation at tidal swamp growing areas. There were two lines which gave yield above 2 t/ha, namely G100H/SHR-60-38 (2.10 ton ha-1) and G100H/SHR60-34 (2.04 ton ha-1). Yield of these line is comparable to yield of control variety Tanggamus (2.07 ton ha-1). The two lines have better agronomic traits of compared to Tanggamus, namely bigger seeds and mature earlier. Kegiatan penyedian tenaga kerja merupakan tahap yang sangat menentukan dalam kehidupan perusahaan yaitu meliputi proses seleksi dan penempatan tenaga kerja bukanlah proses yang mudah karena pada dasarnya menuntut dan ketepatan dalam kualifikasi waktu dan juga efisiensi. Kesuksesan proses seleksi dan ketepatan penempatan tenaga kerja berarti terpilihnya karyawan-karyawan yang kompeten dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan proses seleksi dan penempatan tenaga kerja pada PT. Energi Alamraya Semesta di Kabupaten Nagan Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif . Tehnik pengumpulan data melalui interview, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Sedangkan analisis datanya terdiri dari: analisis terhadap kualifikasi yang menjadi dasar dalam proses seleksi dan analisis prosedur penempatan tenaga kerja serta analisis dan menginterprestasikan pelaksanaan proses seleksi dan penempatan tenaga kerja yang tepat untuk digunakan. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa prosedur proses seleksi yang dilakukan oleh PT. Energi Alamraya Semesta dilaksanakan dalam waktu yang relatif singkat, seleksi tenaga kerja bertujuan untuk membantu perusahaan dalam membuat keputusan tentang calon karyawan yang tepat untuk memenuhi kualifikasi yang dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan. Penempatan tenaga kerja dilaksanakan setelah proses seleksi selesai di lakukan dan calon karyawan dinyatakan lulus seleksi. Saran yang dapat penulis berikan adalah perusahaan dapat menyediakan waktu yang panjang antara permohonan kebutuhan tenaga kerja dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan tenaga kerja yang dibutuhkan, sehingga dapat terpilih karyawan calon karyawan yang berkualitas seperti yang diharapkan oleh perusahaan dan menyarankan agar perusahaan agar perusahaan mengadakan penambahan tenaga kerja pada bagian personalia Human Resource, mengingat tugas dan tanggung jawab pada bagian ini cukup banyak agar dapat melaksanakan fungsi-fungsi personalia dengan lebih tepat.
