BKL-1 crude protease were obtained after 27 hours incubation period in Nutrient Broth (NB) medium added with peptone 0.5%, NaCl 0.5%, lactose 0.1%, and CaCl2 0.1%. BKU-31 crude proteases were obtained in NB medium added with 0.1% skimmed milk (NBS) for 18 hours incubation period. The highest activity of proteases of S. marcescens biogp 1 BKL-1 reached after 27 hours of incubation, namely 0.002 U/ml with protein concentration 0.064 mg/ml. The proteases of S. marcescens BKU-31, on the other hand, reached their highest activity (0.064 U/ml) at 24 hours of incubation with protein concentration 0.056 mg/ml.The optimum temperature crude BKL-1 proteases were 30°C, whereas BKU-31 proteasess had the optimum temperature of 50 ºC. The research aims to get iodized fertilizer formula which is capable to improve iodine rate in crop that lasted from May to September 2007. The field experiment was conducted in Baturiti, Tabanan Regency. The formula tested of iodized fertilizer represents field experiment using one factor simple randomized completely block design (RCBD) by using 15 fertilizer formulas combination treatment. Iodized fertilizer formulas of which main material is KI as source of iodine was combined with fertilizer of Urea, ZA, and phonska as source of nitrogen. Each formula was added which organic fertilizer, such as Kascing, Compost, cow manure, and chicken manure. Fertilizer doses used as a treatment was 10 kg I, 138 kg N, 60 kg P, 60 kg K, and 5 ton organic fertilizer ha-1. Generally, iodized fertilizer formulas that was used as a treatment could improve iodine content in crops. There were no significant influence among the iodized fertilizer formulas to crop iodine content and plant yield, except it was compared to crops iodine content and yield which was without treatment (control). The iodine content in crop increased to 500-700% with iodized fertilizer formulas. After being given fertilizer dose treatment 10 kg I, 138 kg N, 60 kg P, 60 kg K, and 50 ton organic fertilizer ha-1, iodine content of each crop are as follows mustard greens 514.57-539.36 μg kg-1, cabbage 527.19-545.10 μg kg-1, cassava leaf 445.40-458.34 μg kg-1, and corn grain 220.53-223.18 μg kg-1, respectively. Daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum Wight.) mengandung beberapa senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengaruh konsentrasi optimum dari ekstrak metanol daun salam (S. polyanthum Wight.) yang memiliki senyawa antibakteri yang dibuktikan dengan adanya zona bening untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri K. pneumonia isolat klinis. Jenis penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Rancangan penelitian ini terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 4 pengulangan, yaitu 4 variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun salam 35%, 50%, 65%, dan 80% dan 2 kontrol (kontrol positif menggunakan antibiotik ciprofloxacin dan kontrol negatif menggunakan pelarut metanol). Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun salam memiliki pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan K. pneumonia yang ditandai dengan terbentuknya zona hambat yang diameter rata-rata 11,5 mm pada konsentrasi 35%, 12,5 mm pada konsentrasi50%, 8 mm pada konsentrasi 65%, dan 10,7 mm pada konsentrasi 80%. Kontrol positif ciprofloxacin memiliki diameter yang lebih besar 25 mm. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Uji Normalitas, dilanjutkan dengan ANAVA (Analisis Varian) dan Uji Jarak Ganda Duncan (UJGD). Berdasarkan analisis data secara statistik yang dilakukan, pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak metanol daun salam terhadap pertumbuhan K. pneumonia tidak berbeda nyata.Kata kunci: Syzygium polyanthum Wight., antibakteri, Klebsiella pneumonia,isolat klinis. Balai Benih Induk (BBI) Perdamean village Tanjung Morawa from March 2012 to June 2012. Reducing seedling number per hill from 5 to 3 and 1 respectively, increased plant growth and grain yield significantly. Increasing seedling age from 7 to 14 and 21 days resulted in significant increasing plant growth and grain yield.
