Salinity plays an important role for phenomenon identification of upwelling and downwelling. Upwelling that occurs in the Indian Ocean south of Java to South of Bali is influenced by monsoons, ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) and IOD (Indian Dipole Oscillation Mode). Upwelling and downwelling patterns based on vertical structure of salinity and its seasonal variability within seven years (2004 to 2010) is studied here. Argo Float dataset is used in this study, processed by Ferret software for a vertical schematic model, and Pearson correlated with IOD and SOI indexes. The aim of this study is to  obtain the pattern of upwelling and downwelling based on profile of seasonal salinity during the period 2004-2010 in Indian Ocean south of Java – Bali and correlated with ENSO and IOD.  Further discussion on upwellling is provided since it is more important to the fisheries activity. Result shows an intensive upwelling phenomenon occurs at 110°E correlated with fishing ground area. ENSO and IOD phenomena has been founded also affect upwelling. Upwelling increasing in intensity during the La Nina - IOD (+). Salinitas berperan penting untuk mengidentifikasi fenomena upwelling dan downwelling. Upwelling yang terjadi di samudera Hindia Selatan Jawa hingga Selatan Bali dipengaruhi oleh angin musim, ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) dan IOD (Indian Oscillation Dipole Mode). Dalam peneletian ini dikaji pola upwelling dan downwelling berdasarkan distribusi salinitas secara vertikal dan vaeriabilitas musiman dikaji dalam waktu tujuh tahun (2004 – 2010). Data hasil akuisisi argo float digunakan dalam penelitian ini, diolah menggunakan software Ferret selanjutnya dilakukan  pembuatan model skematik  dan analisa korelasi pearson terhadap Indeks IOD dan SOI. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memperoleh pola upwelling dan downwelling terhadap musim berdasarkan profil salinitas selama periode 2004 – 2010 di Samudera Hindia Selatan Jawa hingga Bali dan hubungannya dengan fenomena ENSO dan IOD.Penelitian lebih lanjut tentang upwelling penting untuk industri perikanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Fenomena upwelling secara intensif terjadi pada koordinat bujur 110°BT, menunujukkan adanya kesesuaian dengan lokasi daerah penangkapan ikan. Fenomena ENSO dan IOD juga mempengaruhi upwelling, intensitasnya meningkat saat periode La Nina-IOD (+). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis spektrum Fast Furier Transform (FFT) dan analisis kenormalan curah hujan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa spektrum curah hujan aceh Besar memiliki periodesitas 6, 8, 10, 42, 50, 52, 66, 76, 78, 80, 100, 102, 110, 136, dan 156 bulanan terhadap spektrum indeks dipole mode. Hasil tersebut diperoleh dengan cara membandingkan frekuensi indeks dipole mode dan frekuensi curah hujan pada periode yang sama. Dibanding fenomena dipole mode negatif (DM -) fenomena dipole mode positif (DM +) memberikan pengaruh yang lebih kuat terhadap curah hujan Aceh Besar, hal ini berdasarkan pada jumlah kesamaan periode puncak dan lembah frekuensi indeks dipole mode terhadap Aceh Besar. Untuk dipole mode positif memiliki kesamaan puncak dan lembah frekuensi terhadap curah hujan Aceh Besar sebanyak 26 kali, sedangkan kesamaan periode puncak dan lembah frekuensi indeks dipole mode negatif terhadap curah hujan Aceh Besar hanya sebanyak 12 kali. The study area was divided into four locations that were the upstream of the tunnel (Location 1), bridge area at the south (Location 2), branch of the river area (Location 3), and the downstream of the two creeks. The study was done from April to June 2012. The method was survey and destructive sampling. The species of benthos was analysed descriptivelly and the diversity was analysed by diversity index formula (H). The results showed that there were 20 species of benthos found in the area and the index of diversity was between 1.996 and 2.652. In brief,  River Bale is still suitable as the habitat of aquatic organisms. This study aimed to find out what the program of school committee, the strategy/approach used by the school committee, and the obstacle faced by the school committee in improving the education quality. This study used qualitative approach with descriptive method. Techniques of data collection used were observation, interview, and documentation study. Subjects of this study were chairperson of school committee, principal, and teachers. The results of the study showed that: (1) the programs of school committee in improving the education quality included regular meeting of school committee for each semester, participating to approve the School Activity and Budget Plans (RKAS)/School Budget (RAPBS), giving suggestion and recommendation to local government to improve the quality of educational services based on the school’s need. However, the implementation of these programs was not effective yet. (2) The strategies of school committee in improving the education quality were regular meeting with school community at the end of each semester, together with the school, formulating vision and mission of school, formulating RKAS and RAPBS, and developing the potential to better prospect. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah komite sekolah, kepala sekolah dan guru. Pengaruh limbah air cucian beras terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman pakchoy belum diketahui. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh air cucian beras dan dosis yang tepat air cucian beras terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman pakchoy. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non faktorial, dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Dosis perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu P0 (kontrol/0% air cucian beras), P1 (25% air cucian beras), P2 (50% air cucian beras), P3 (75% air cucian beras), dan P4 (100% air cucian beras). Air cusian beras yang digunakan adalah air cucian beras yang pertama. Parameter yang diukur yaitu tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), dan berat kering (gram). Data dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Of Varians (ANOVA), sedangkan uji lanjut berdasarkan nilai KK yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitan diperoleh bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari berbagai konsentrasi air cucian beras terhadap  tinggi tanaman pakchoy pada umur 10 dan 20 HST) dan berat kering, namun tidak pada jumlah daun. Its function is still unclear. This is an encouragement to study the gene by disrupting the expression of the gene. This study was aimed to generate Arabidopsis thaliana possessing suppressed Atnda1 utilizing RNA interference.  Double stranded nda1-RNAi silencing was chosen for this project. The generation of the lines was started by creating specific primer for Atnda1. The creation of nda1-RNAi cassette used the Gateway cloning. We utilized Agrobacterium strain GV3101 as a mediator to transfer the cassette into the plants. Dipping the flower into Agrobactrium solution was done to transfer the nda1-RNAi cassette into wild type Arabidopsis. The seeds collected from the mutant plants were checked in selective media. Contamination was the daunting problem in the process of checking the plants. This was crucial to ensure that the insertion has been done successfully. However, selection of the mutants must be done before analysis of the function is carried on the mutants.
