Sampel adalah 56 mahasiswa suku Aceh (27 lelaki, 29 perempuan atau 13 orang berasal dari Aceh Besar, 17 Aceh Utara-Timur, 11 Aceh Barat-Selatan dan 15 Aceh Pidie) yang berumur 18 sampai 25 tahun dengan oklusi normal, tidak mempunyai karies, tidak memakai protesa, gigi permanen lengkap dan belum dirawat ortodonti. Dental cast digunakan untuk mengukur ukuran lengkung gigi yang meliputi inter-kaninus, inter-molar pertama, inter-molar kedua, kedalaman kaninus, kedalaman molar pertama dan kedalaman molar kedua rahang atas dan rahang bawah. Perbedaan lengkung gigi lelaki dan perempuan di analisis dengan uji t serta uji ANOVA untuk melihat perbedaan ukuran lengkung gigi berdasarkan kelompok daerah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan ukuran lengkung gigi lelaki dan perempuan.
