In addition, this study was also to determine whether the provision of compost can increase effectiveness of urea fertilizer for seedling growth of betel palm. Results of research showed that compost significantly affected seedling growth of betel palm. The best dosage of compost for the seedling growth was 1.5 kg per seedling. Urea fertilizer also significantly affected seedling growth of betel palm. The best dosage of urea for the seedling growth was 1.5 g per seedling. ZainoelAbidin General Hospital Banda Aceh Year 2012. This type of research was descriptive explorative study with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique was total sampling with sample of 37 chronic kidney disease respondents. Data were collected using guided interviews using questionnaires in form of dicotomus scale with ordinal measurement scale consisting 40 items of questions. The data were analyzed descriptively by determining the percentage of assisted and not supported (independent). The results showed that the ability of self-care in terms of bathing was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (81.1%), the ability in dressing was in compensatory nursing system category (78,4%), ability to eat was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (78,4%), the ability in dress up/make upwas in compensatory nursing systemcategory (73,0%), the ability in personal hygiene was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (78,4%), the ability to use tools in daily activities was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (81,1%), the ability in non-parenteral treatment was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (86,5%), the ability of oral hygiene was in compensatory nursing systemcategory (86,5%), and the ability of toileting was in compensatory nursing system category (78,4%). Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh Tahun 2012ABSTRAKPerawatan diri (Self care) merupakan salah satu kemampuan dasar manusia dalam memenuhi kebutuhannya guna mempertahankan kehidupan, kesehatan dan kesejahteraan. Perawatan diri mencakup mandi, berpakaian, makan, berdandan/berhias, kebersihan diri, menggunakan alat untuk aktivitas sehari-hari, pengobatan non parenteral, kebersihan mulut dan toileting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan perawatan diri pasien gagal ginjal kronik di ruang rawat inap penyakit dalam Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh Tahun 2012. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptifeksploratif dengan desain cross sectional study. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara total sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 37 responden gagal ginjal kronik. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik wawancara terpimpin menggunakan kuesioner terdiri dari 40 item pertanyaan dalam hasil ukurdicotomusdan skala ukur ordinal. Data di analisa secara deskriptif dengan menentukan presentase dengan kategori di bantu dan tidak dibantu (mandiri). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan perawatan diri ditinjau dari mandi berada pada kategori dibantu (81,1%), kemampuan berpakaian berada pada kategori dibantu (78,4%), kemampuan makan berada pada kategori dibantu (78,4%), kemampuan berdandan/berhias berada pada kategori dibantu (73,0%), kemampuan kebersihan diri berada pada kategori dibantu (78,4%), kemampuan menggunakan alat untuk aktivitas sehari-hari berada pada kategori dibantu (81,1%), kemampuan pengobatan non perenteral berada pada kategori dibantu (86,5%), kemampuan kebersihan mulut berada pada kategori dibantu (86,5%), dan kemampuan toileting berada pada kategori dibantu (78,4%). Secara umum menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan perawatan diri pasien gagal ginjal kronik berada pada kategori dibantu (86,5%).
