Writing is a very important skill for students in learning English as foreign language. However, the students get difficulties in writing. It is required that teachers find alternative technique which could be helpful in teaching writing. Using picture strip story is a possible solution. This study employs library research, which was conducted through the readings of related sources available. The collected data were then processed and described systematically. The study found that picture strip story can help students improve writing skill. Besides, they become more active, motivate, and confident because of the picture strip story presents the colorful picture and it is more livelier so that the students can be more active and motivate in writing. Therefore, we hope that the results of this study can be used as a treatment model in teaching writing. Keyword : Picture Strip Story, Writing</text>

<text>Abstract - The property such as microhardness of boridelayer formed on S45C iron was investigated. Boronizing was carried out in a solid medium consisting of nano size powders of 50% B4C as a donor, 45% SiC as a diluent, and 5% KBF4 as an activator treated at the temperature of 10000C for 8 hours. The phases that were formed on the substrate was found as Fe2B and FeB layer that had smooth and flate shape morphology. The hardness of boride layer on S45C was over 2000 HV, while the hardness of untreated S45C iron was about 196,39 HV. Depending on process time and temperature, the depth of boride layer ranges from 25 to 55 μm, leading to a diffusion controlled process. Keywords : Boronization, hard layer, heat treatment, B4C.KBF4.SiC powder, low carbon steel.</text>

Therefore, information about the adaptation of wheat plants at planting date at a particular location will benefit farmers in determining how best to utilize the wheat plants in each production system through morphological characters. Then conducted research The Impact of Differences Planting date against Morphology Character of some Wheat Genotypes in Berastagi of Karo district to determine the most appropriate wheat genotypes grown in Berastagi at certain times growing season through morphological characters. This research was conducted at Berastagi with two planting date (planting date I = late February to early June 2012 and planting date II = late October 2012 to early February 2013), using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) non factorial using 12 wheat plant, namely 2 varieties (Selayar / K and Dewata / L) and 10 genotypes that OASIS / SKAUZ / / 4 * BCN (A); HP1744 (B); LAJ3302 / 2 * MO88 (C); RABE / 2 * MO88 (D), H-21 (E), G-21 (F), G-18 (G); MENEMEN (H); BASRIBEY (I); ALIBEY (J). Observational data were tested with analysis of variance and combined analysis. The observed morphological characters were plant height, number of spikelet spike-1, number of grainspike-1 and grain weight spike-1. The results of analysis of variance and combined analysis showed that all parameters were observed give significantly different results for each planting date.</text>

<text>The purposes of this research are to examine the impact of Indonesia Presidential Election year 2014 on the average of abnormal return and the average of trading volume activities on Advertising Printing Media Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange before and after the Presidential Election from 8th July 2014 until 10th July 2014. This research used event study method that observed the average of abnormal return and trading volume activities one day before, event date, and one day after the Presidential Election year 2014.This research used secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Indonesia Capital Market Directory (ICMD). The data used in this study included the daily closing price, CSPI index, daily stock trading volume, and the number of outstanding shares. The expected return used market adjusted model. The populations of this research are all companies under Advertising Printing Media stocks listed on IDX. The results of this research are: (1) Based on the statistical test of the average abnormal return of stocks during the event period, it was found that there was no significant difference in the average of abnormal return before and after the presidential election year 2014. It is due to the type of capital market of Indonesia that is semi-strong type of capital market, therefore the information or events that happened in Indonesia did not respond quickly by Indonesian investors. (2) Based on the statistical test of the average trading volume of stocks during the event period, it was found that there was no significant difference in the average of trading volume before and after the presidential election year 2014. The absence of significant differences in the average of trading volume activities before and after the presidential election was because of no demand from investors to trade their stocks, this means investors assumed the presidential election year 2014 was not a big event that affects the desire of investors to trade their stocks in market. Keywords: abnormal return, trading volume activities, event study, Indonesia Presidential Election year 2014</text>
