<text>The nematode, Ascaridia galli, caused pathological changes in the gut, while the larval development takes place in the intestine epithelium. The aim of this research was to examine the effect of excretory/secretory product released by L3 of A. galli to prevent intestine destructions based on villous compact in duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of laying hens. Excretory/secretory was prepared from metabolic of L3 released in culture médium in flasks containingrosswell park memorial institute (RPMI) 1640 media, pH 6.8, without phenol red. Excretory/secretory product was concentrated with vivaspin 30.000 MWCO. The chickens vaccinated with 80 >g protein excretory/secretory in crudemixed with Fruend Adjuvant Complete and repeated three times with dose of each 60 >g mixed with Freund Adjuvant Incomplete with an interval of one week intra muscularly. The chickens were challenged with 1000 infective larvae A. galli one week later. After two weeks the chickens were operated. Villous compact in duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of laying hens were analyzed. The result showed that immunization was able to sustained significantly intestinevillus compact, particularly in duodenum. This research concluded that the excretory/secretory product could protect villus in duodenum against parasitic diseases caused by A. galli.</text>

Different ratio of clay in polypropylene to study which ratio has a better mechanical property. The tensile test was carried out using INSTRON5565 and the maximum stress, strain, and modulus of elasticity observed. The experimental results showed that polypropylene/clay nanocomposite has a higher maximum stress compare to pure polypropylene and un-synthesis clay. Besides that modulus of elasticity of specimen calculated and finds that it increased with increment filler content and strain did not affect by filler. The synthesis clay filled into polypropylene will have a better mechanical property. Keywords: nanocomposite, polypropylene, synthesis clay</text>

<text>Anthurium andraeanum is an epiphyte with a habit of growth climbing. This plant has long duration of seed development and juvenile growth phase before flowering. A. andraeanum has 5 flowers per plant per year, with a variation from 0 to 7 flowers. The aims of this study are to determine the effect of intermittent mist and inclination bench on the growth and production of Anthurium in rock wool medium. This study uses cluster randomized design (RAK) 3 x 3 factorial pattern with 3 repetitions. There are three factors were tested in this experiment: 1) mist treatment (mist and control), 2) media type (bark andgranulous rock wool), 3) inclination angle of bench (0, 30 and 60 degrees). The investigations were leaf area, the number of inflorescence harvested, the spathe area, the fresh and dry weights. The results showed the plants with intermittent mist have bigger leaves and growth faster than control. Intermittent mist hassimilar effect with relative humidity as in the native of A. andraeanum. The root of plants on the inclination bench 0° with intermittent mist contact a substrate, and attached or penetrate to the rock wool medium and grown down wards the medium and bench. All flowers from plants grown under intermittent mist classified as large flowers, with the average around 14.19 cm. Intermittent mist and medium influenced the fresh and dry weight of Anthurium. Plants with intermittent mist have the average 18.17gram fresh weight and control just 12.96 gram per plant. The structure, length, branching pattern and thickness of aerial roots varied depend on intermittent mist, medium and inclination bench have an effect to the growth and flowering of plants</text>

<text>Postharvest diseases caused by microbial pathogens account for a great loss every year. Fungicides have been used for decade to control spoilage in conventional agriculture. It is generally known that long term use of chemical would harm the environment and bring resistance to organisms. Increasing public concern over the use of conventional fungicide due to health issues has prompted investigations to find alternative environmentally friendly control agent that might be used to suppress diseases development in storage.Ozone has been considered by researchers as an effective alternative to the use of traditional pesticides in food preservation because it leaves no residue on fresh produce so that safer to consumed. This work determined the effect of low level ozone exposure (180 ppb) on colony development and spores production of Rhizopus oryzae, R. stolonifer and R. microsporus var.chinensis in vitro. Two types of inocula were used, mycelial and spore, as both are responsible for spread of spoilage when stored with uncontaminated food. The tested fungi were stored in an ozone chamber at 7-8 oC for 14 days. Colony development was studied by measuring the colony diameter while spores production by time fungi was assed on the 14th day of the incubation period. Ozone exposure at 180 ppb has varied result on colony development and spore production on each species examined.Overall the work suggests that continuous low level of ozone exposure at 180 ppb for 14 days has different effect on different species depend on the ability each microorganism to counteract with ozone exposure.</text>

<text>In this study, composites were made from source of recycled HDPE and rice husk as filler as well as addition of double coupling agent in order to improve mechanical properties of produced composites. The aim of this study is to know the effect of addition of double coupling agent of maleic anhydride (MA) and maleic anhydride polyethylene (MAPE) on quality of produced composites. In this research, the ratio of MA and MAPE that applied are 1:1; 1:2 and 2:1. The hot press method was used in order to form these composites. The composite formation process was perfomed at medium temperature of 170 oC for 30 minutes. After pressed manually and heated at these temperature later composite samples were cooled to room temperature naturally, and finally composites were tested to know its mechanical properties of tensile strength and bending strength as well as water absorption capacity. The results showed that the simultant addition of MA and MAPE as double coupling agent can improve the quality of the produced composites. The amount of MAPE that is added in MA coupling agent affected both the value of the tensile strength and bonding strength of the composites. The similar characterstics also occurred on property of water absorption on immersed composite. By addition of the MAPE and MA together then both coupling agents are increasing bonding adhesion between matrix and filler becomes stronger and tighter. The highest value of tensile strength of 5.75 MPa was obtained on the composite ratio of MA:MAPE= 1:2. While the highest value of bending strength of 4.1 MPa was also obtained on the composite with the same ratio. The highest water absorption of produced composites was found on composite by adding of ratio MA:MAPE=2:1 that is 9.4%</text>

<text>. The effect of picloram concentrations and three explants types on cacao somatic embryogenesis was studied. The objective of this work was to evaluate a procedure for somatic embryogenesis of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) Aceh clones. Somatic embryogenesis was induced using floral tissue explants (petal, staminode, and anther) on North Aceh cacao genotype. No growth was observed on petal types of explants on low concentrations of picloram. Depending on the explants, the percentage of explants producing one or more embryos ranged from 3% to 75%, 5% to 80%, and 10% to 90% on media containing 3 mg/l, 4 mg/l, and 5 mg/l picloram respectively. Staminode explants produced 3 to 10 times more somatic embryos than petals, while anthers produced 2 to 5 times. Secondary embryos were induced from the floral explants of the North Aceh cacao genotype that exhibited efficient primary embryogenesis. Percentage embryogenesis generally increased with culture time</text>

The effect of propolis to treat fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance, total cholesterol was examined. Experimental Research with Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT) design was utilized in the study. Intervention given was propolis at dose 50 mg/kg bwt and health education administered for 20 days. The quality of propolis was 20%extract and quercetin content 25.29 mg/L tested by Biofarmaka Laboratory Test of Hasanuddin University, health education used counseling strategy. Thesamples were 64 prediabetic patients consist of 32 patients treated with propolis and 32 treated with health education. The result of Wilcoxon with significant level of 0.05 has proved significantly decreased fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance and total cholesterol respectively 14.28 (p=0.000), 23.16 (p=0.000) and 16.3 (p=0.000) The result of group given propolis as significant as health education group respectively fasting blood glucose 14.9 (p=0.001), glucose tolerance 13.98 (p=0.000) and total cholesterol 9.76 (p=0.021). Giving propolis and health education are effective for the change of fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance and total cholesterol. <text>Abstract - This paper examines how rainfall patterns affect the mechanisms of shallow slope failure. Numerical modelling, utilising the commercial software SVFlux and SVSlope, was carried out for a coupled analysis of rainfall-induced slope seepage and instability, with reference to a shallow landslide took place in Jabiru, Northern Territory (NT) Australia in 2007. Rainfall events were varied in terms of pattern in this analysis. The results revealed that slopes are sensitive to rainfall pattern when the rainfall intensity has a high degree of fluctuation at around the same value as that of saturated hydraulic conductivity. Average rainfall intensity at the beginning of a rainfall period plays a primary role in determining the rate of decrease in initial factor of safety (Fi) towards minimum factor of safety (Fmin). The effect of rainfall events on the slope instability is attributed to the amount of rainwater infiltration into slope associated with rainfall pattern. Keywords: Rainfall pattern; Fluctuating intensity, Shallow failure mechanism; Slope failure; Rainwater infiltration.</text>
