Di bawah bimbingan Yusmanizar ST, MP sebagai pembimbing utama dan Dr. Rita Khathir, S.TP, M.Sc sebagai pembimbing anggota.RINGKASANUmbi gadung (Dioscorea hispida Dennst) adalah salah satu produk pangan lokal yang potensial dengan kandungan pati yang tinggi sehingga dapat diolah menjadi tepung. Tepung gadung dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan dalam pembuatan kue atau kerupuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pengeringan gadung yang disawut dengan menggunaka alat pengering tipe kabinet. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Bulan September sampai dengan November 2012 di Laboratorium Teknik Pasca Panen Program Studi Teknik Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah pengering kabinet, termometer alkohol, timbangan digital, stopwatch, anemometer, kamera digital, pisau stainless steel, dan keranjang. Bahan yang digunakan adalah umbi gadung yang sudah disawut sebanyak 30 kg, abu sekam, dan garam dapur. Karakteristik pengeringan yang dikaji adalah distribusi suhu, kelembaban relatif dan aliran udara dalam ruang pengering. Mutu hasil pengeringan dikaji berdasarkan kadar air bahan, rendemen, densitas kamba, kadar pati, analisa warna, dan uji organoleptik. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa temperatur rata-rata di dalam ruang pengering tidak stabil dan bervariasi dengan perbedaan kapasitas pengeringan, misalnya temperatur tertinggi pada kapasitas pengeringan 5 kg, terletak pada rak 2 (38oC), namun pada kapasitas pengeringan 10 dan 15 kg, temperatur rata-rata tertinggi dicapai pada rak 1 (36oC) dan rak 5 (37oC). Dengan perbedaan temperatur tersebut, kisaran nilai kelembaban relatif juga berfluktuasi. Kadar air akhir dianalisa pada setiap rak dengan dua titik pengamatan yang berbeda juga menunjukkan nilai yang tidak sama. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa belum tercapainya keseragaman kadar air dari gadung yang dikeringkan. Adapun nilai rendemen pengeringan untuk semua kapasitas pengeringan adalah sama yaitu 39% karena pengeringan dimulai dan dihentikan pada kadar air yang sama. Kadar pati pengeringan kapasitas 5, 10, dan 15 kg adalah 34,65%, 25,42%, dan 22,83%, di mana perbedaan ini timbul sebagai akibat dari ketidakseragaman kadar air. Sebagai efek dari proses pengeringan, nilai densitas gadung yang telah dikeringkan menurun sampai 50% menunjukkan bahwa efesiensi pengemasan dapat ditingkatkan. Analisa warna L*a*b menghasilkan nilai yang beragam juga. Sementara hasil pengujian organoleptik dengan skala hedonic terhadap 3 kriteria yaitu warna, aroma, tekstur, panelis paling menyukai hasil pengeringan kapasitas 5 kg. This research was carried out to obtain indegenous isolates of probiotic bacteria from digestive tract Cyprinus carpio. Selection criteria were appointed based on the capacity to produce the antibacterial compound against the pathogen and grow at pH 2. The research was conducted from May to July 2014 at Microbiology Laboratory, Biology Department, UNSYIAH. The research was carried out by experiment laboratories. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of agriculture faculty unsyiah which began in April 2013 to September 2013. This research used a randomized block design with 6 patterns of non-factorial treatment that G1- wilis genotype, G2- kaba genotype, G3- sinabung genotype, G4- agromulyo genotype, G5- burangrang genotype and G6- anjasmoro genotype with 3 replications in order to obtain 18 units of unit experiment. The parameters measured were the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width aged 30, 45, and 60 days after planting and dry weight of plants. Outcome variable measured were the number of pieces cropping, seed number, 100 seed weight, seed weight perhectare, perarea seed weight, seed weight and planting. The resul of this research indicate that there is significant influence between the appearance of the growth and yield of soybean genotypes due to different treatments. Sinabung genotype showed the highest growth and diversity, anjasmoro genotype showed the highest diversity of results. The number of leaves, dry weight, seed weight and weight of 100 seeds perarea have heritability and genetic advances higher. Significant genetic correlation between the characters and yield growth occured in the number of leaves and weight of 100 seeds were negatif. Keywords : Glycine max L. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengambilan data primer dan data sekunder, dilakukan dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi berpedoman pada kuisioner dan observasi langsung ke lokasi penelitian. Untuk mendukung penelitian ini diperlukan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari instansi dan dinas yang erat kaitannya dengan penelitian ini. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dengan jumlah responden 81 petani. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model regresi linear berganda dengan menggunakan fungsi Cobb-Douglas dan didukung dengan model matematis metode ordinary least square (OLS). Hasil penelitian ini diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 16 menunjukkan bahwa faktor luas tanam dan modal berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap produksi sedangkan faktor tenaga kerja berpengaruh negatif tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap produksi. Sedangkan secara simultan variabel luas tanam, modal dan tenaga kerja mempengaruhi produksi. Nilai koefisien determinasi R Square (R2 ) adalah sebesar 0,919, berarti bahwa variasi produksi jagung dapat di jelaskan oleh variasi luas tanam, modal dan tenaga kerja sebesar 91,9 persen atau variabel luas tanam, modal dan tenaga kerja mampu mempengaruhi produksi jagung sebesar 91,9 persen. This research aims to investigate physical characteristics of Arabica coffee powder with addition of corn and rice milled through mechanical process. This experiment used two mechanical mills including hammer mill and disc mill. Before it is milled, coffee was mixed with other materials including corn and rice. Parameters observed were yield, moisture content, bulk density, and angle of respose, particle uniformity index, fineness modulus, and the average particle dimensions. Based on the results obtained, it was revealed that moisture content of each test still meet SNI standard with the maximum of 7%. Bulk density of coffee powder resulted using disc mill was higher compared with hammer mill. However, particle generated from milling process may be categorized as powder with medium cohesiveness based on its angle of repose. Dimensional average particle is proportional to the fineness modulus of coffee powder produced. Highest fineness modulus obtained from coffee powder without additives, and using a hammer mill is equal to 4.37 with the highest average dimensions of 2.05 mm, while the lowest fineness modulus that the coffee powder without any additional ingredients milled with a hammer mill is equal to 4.22, with the lowest average dimensions of 1.94 mm. Ada pun sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebesar 50% dari total populasi yang ada di Desa Meunara Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Usaha yang dilakukan oleh peternak penggemukan sapi kereman di Desa Meunara Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar layak dilakukan.
