Currently, squid populations, especially in the District Barru, were intensive exploited, that is feared to affect the population biology parameters. The study was conducted fromFebruary to April 2011. The sampling period was three times a week. The Samples were obtained using random collection from the fishermen catch using Rambo left net. Squid mantle length was measured to the nearest one mm.The parameters analyzed were age group, gonad maturity stage, growth, mortality, and exploitation rate. Squid population in Barru district consists of three age groups with the length of each mode of 51 mm, 98 mm, 133 mm formales, and 51 mm, 96 mm, 127 mm for females. The gonad maturity stage ranging from TKG I to IV for males and females, with the largest percentage of TKG TKG III (47.82% in males and 50.06% in females). The squid firstmaturity is reached at 94.3827 mm in long coat for males, and 59.6735 mm for females. Growth equation for males was Lt = 227 {1 - e -0.31 (t + 0.30)} and females are Lt = 196 {1-e-0, 37 (t +0.26)}. The total mortality rate (Z) is1.59 for males and 1.63 for females. The natural mortality rate (M) is 0.20 for males and 0.57 for females. The capture mortality rate (F) is 1.39 for males and 1.06 for females. The highest CPUE values reached in 1999 was 0.0022 ton per trip, while the smallest CPUE values reached in 2001 was 0.0001 tons per year. These are the source of network congestion, which can interfere the communication data rate. This study discusses a system to overcome the congestion with Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scalability-based approach, for the video sequence encoding method into two layers, which is a solution to decrease encoding mode for each packet and channel coding rate. The goal is to minimize any distortion from the source to the destination. The coding system used is a video coding standards that is MPEG-2 or H.263 with SNR scalability. The algorithm used for motion compensation, temporal redundancy and spatial redundancy is the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and quantization. The transmission error is simulated by adding Gaussian noise (error) on motion vectors. From the simulation results, the SNR and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) in the noisy video frames decline with averages of 3dB and 4dB respectively. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh, mengidentifikasi dan menentukan kondisi optimum dari isolat lokal Pria Laot Sabang yang potensial memproduksi protease termostabil. Empat isolat (PLS A, PLS 75, PLS 76 dan PLS 80) dilakukan uji kualitatif terhadap aktivitas protease menggunakan media kasein dan susu skim. Bakteri penghasil protease diidentifikasi morfologinya menggunakan pewarnaan Gram dan Scanning Electron Microscop (SEM). Penentuan urutan nukleotida dilakukan dengan cara mengamplifikasi fragmen gen 16S rRNA dengan primer com-1F dan com-1R menggunakan metode Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Produksi protease dianalisis dengan kurva pertumbuhan dan aktivitas protease dengan variasi waktu inkubasi dan suhu. Kurva pertumbuhan diukur dengan menentukan berat sel kering dan aktivitas enzim diuji menggunakan metode Anson dengan kasein sebagai substrat. Dari keempat isolat yang diuji, hanya PLS A yang potensial menghasilkan protease yang ditunjukkan dengan terbentuknya zona bening pada media kasein dan susu skim. Kondisi optimum produksi protease dari PLS A menunjukan aktivitas protease tertinggi pada waktu 18 jam dan suhu 650C dengan aktivitas sebesar 0,035 (Unit/mL). Hasil identifikasi morfologi memperlihatkan bahwa PLS A tergolong bakteri Gram negatif berbentuk batang dengan profil morfologi yang seragam.
