<text>End stage kidney disease (ESKD) is a disease where both kidneys are no longer functioning properly and patients require renal replacement therapy (RRT) such as haemodialysis to prolong their life. The numbers of modality for haemodialysis had increased, as the numbers of new patient of ESKD increased. In Malaysia, the numbers of new patient had increased three-fold for the past 10 years, from year 2002 to year 2012. In this paper, demographic data, clinical data and input and output of dialysis for the selected patients are presented. The post-dialysis urea concentrations for each patient with different weightfor one compartment model were simulated using MATLAB software. The simulated values of post-dialysis urea concentration were then compared with the clinical values of post-dialysis urea concentration for different weight. The simulated values of post-dialysis urea concentration underestimated the clinical value of post-dialysis urea concentration for patient with weight less than 70kg but overestimated to patient with weight greater than 70kg. The ratio of simulated values and clinical values of post-dialysis urea concentration were found to increase with the weight of patient</text>

<text>The simulation of Bay of Bengal (included Andaman Sea) has been done. This investigation used equation of motion (Navier-Stokes equation).  The equation of motion was solved by means of Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). The analysis is done for the year of 2007. The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) data for year of 2007 is used to force the Bay of Bengal.  The sea surface temperature (SST) and sea surface salinity (SSS) have been obtained and analyzed. The highest SST occurs in April 2007, while the lowest SST occurs in October 2007. The pattern of SST depends on the wind vector. From January untill June 2007, the SSS pattern is a west-east pattern. The SSS value is lower in the east and higher in the west. From July untill December, the higher value of SSS is generally in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. Generally, the value of SSS is higher in July and August, while in December and January the value of SSS is lower. Some results have been compared and consistent with the study of Vinayachandran dan Kurian (2008) and Vinayachandran and Yamagata (1998).</text>

<text>This paper presents the results obtained from the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to modelling the crosswind and steam addition effect on a turbulent non-premixed flame. A pre-processor software GAMBIT was employed to set up the configuration, discretisation, and boundary conditions of the flame being investigated.  The commercial software Fluent 6.3 was used to perform the calculations of flow and mixing fields as well as combustion. Standard k-ε and eddy dissipation models were selected as solvers for the representation of the turbulence and combustion, respectively.  The results of all calculations are presented in the forms of contour profiles.  During the investigation, the treatment was performed by setting a  velocity of fuel at 20 m/s with varied cross-wind velocity at  3.77 m/s, 7.5 m/s and 10 m/s,  and steam/fuel ratio at 0.14, 0.25 and 2.35.  The results of the investigation showed that the standard k-ε turbulence model in conjunction with Eddy Dissipation Model representing the combustion was capable of producing reliable phenomena of the flow field and reactive scalars field in the turbulent non-premixed flame being investigated. Other results of the investigation showed that increasing the velocity of the crosswind, when the fuel velocity was kept constant, significantly affected the flow field, temperature and species concentrations in the flare flame. On the other hand, when the velocity of the fuel was varied at the constant crosswind velocity, the increasing velocity of the fuel gave positive impact as it enabled to counteract the effect of crosswind on the flare flame. The velocity of the crosswind very influence of combustion efficiency, from result of the investigation showed that increasing the velocity of the crosswind significantly affected the combustion efficiency, other result of the inverstigation showed that steam addition will very influencing combustion, excelsior the steam/fuel ratio results the combustion efficiency decrease</text>

<text>Raindrop motion is affected by several factors; one of which is wind speed during the rain. This study is aimed to investigate that impact by using mathematical simulation with Fortran and Matlab. Raindrops arrive on the Earth’s surface at their terminal velocities which depend on their size. Raindrop falling motion could be analyzed with net force equation (Newton’s second law). In order to determine velocity and position equations as a function of time, coefficients in those equations were fitted and compared toraindrop model developed by Boxel in 1997. In this study, equations used are fitted to both large and small size raindrops. Values resulted by equation for large size drops agreed with experimental data. Wind speedcauses the terminal velocities of raindrops to get larger, and so does their kinetic energy. In that condition, raindrops fall with certain inclination angle. The stronger wind speed, the larger raindrops’ inclination angle and their kinetic energy are when hitting soil surface. Therefore it increases the risk of soil erosion at place where the soil is unstable. Through this study, speed and direction of raindrop when hitting soil surface could be investigated in order to decrease the risk of avalanche at high risk area.</text>
