Pada percobaan ini sebanyak 24 ekor babi Landrace betina dengan bobot badan ± 10-15 kg, umur ± 15 minggu yang terinfeksi cacing Ascaris suum (A. suum) secara alami, dengan egg per gram (EPG) berkisar 250-2500 butir. Babi tersebut dibagi menjadi empat kelompok perlakuan (P0, P1, P2, dan P3) masing-masing terdiri dari 6 ekor. Kelompok P1 dan kelompok P2 mendapat perlakuan dengan herbal serbuk biji pepaya matang per oral dengan dosis masing-masing 1 dan 3 g/kg bobot badan (P2) selama 3 hari berturut-turut. Kelompok P3 mendapat perlakuan dengan albendazol dosis 0,5 mg/kg bobot badan (Zodalben 0,04 ml/kg bobot badan) sedangkan kelompok P0 bertindak sebagai kontrol tanpa pengobatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengobatan dengan herbal serbuk biji pepaya matang pada babi ascariasis ternyata mampu menurunkan daya berembrio telur cacing dalam tinja babi dan dalam uterus cacing secara efektif sehingga dapat digunakan untuk pengendalian askariasis pada babi. This research used Completed Randomized Designed (RAL) factorial with two factor, isolate types and concentration of isolatechitinolitic bacteria. The research procedure includes the maintenances of Aedes aegypti L. larva, isolation and selection of chitinolitic bacteria, and biological test. Data were processed by using Varian Analysis (ANAVA). The result of this study indicated that four isolates were test on larva of Aedes aegypti L. masquito, instar II. Giving different isolat chitinolitic bacteria and concentration showed no significant differences in larva death (P>0,05). The highest average of larva death was exhibited at the treatments of 1% of IS 2 and IS 3 isolate. The occurance of chitinolitic bacteria influenced the growth of pupa, it can be showed that the pupa was not formed from each consentration and isolate that caused the death in larva signed by the part of body and larva siphon were pale and digestive tract was dark. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of sucrose concentration and activated charcoal on the growth shoot and root in vitro and ex vitro of nilam Aceh (Pogostemon cablin Benth.). Explants for this study were ±1 cm in length with 4 leaf, which were derived from sterile shoot culture. The treatment for were cultured on MS basal medium supplemented with sucrose and activated charcoal. The treatment for this study was the concentration of activated charcoal consisting of three levels: 0 (0%), 10 (1%), 20 (2%), 30 (3%), 40 g L-1 (0.2%). Sucrose concentration of 3% without activated charcoal resulted in the good response based on the number of axillary shoots (2,22 shoots per explants), the length of shoot (5,05 cm), the number of leaf (17,76 leaves per explants), the green leaf level (23,01), the survival shoot (93,33%), the number of root (15,33 root per explants) and the length of root (1,23 cm).
