The research was conducted in Village Aneuk Glee, Indrapuri Sub District, Aceh Besar District. Analysis of phosphorus uptake of rice plants was performed at Laboratory of Soil Research Institute, Bogor. Experiment was arranged in a split plot design with three replications. Factor of phosphorus fertilizer dosage, consisting of three levels (0 kg/ha, 50 kg/ha and 100 kg/ha) was set as main plot and variety (50 varieties) as subplot. Variables observed were plant height, number of tillers, wet weight biomass, dry weight biomass and fertilizing efficiency. Results showed that phosphorus fertilizer dosage exerted highly significant effects on plant height, number of tillers at 20, 23 and 26 days after transplanting, dry weight biomass, nutrient uptake and fertilizing efficiency and exerted significant effects on number of tillers at 14 days after transplanting and wet weight biomass. Variety exerted highly significant effects on plant height, number of tillers, wet weight biomass and dry weight biomass. There were no significant interactions between phosphorus fertilizer dosage and variety on all the observed variables.Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis pupuk fosfat dan varietas terhadap pertumbuhan, serapan hara dan efisiensi pemupukan tanaman padi lokal. Pelaksanaan penelitian lapangan dilakukan di Desa Aneuk Glee Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar dan analisis serapan fosfor tanaman dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Balai Penelitian Tanah, Bogor. Menggunakan rancangan percobaan petak terpisah (split plot design) dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas dosis pemupukan phosfat sebagai petak utama dan varietas (50 varietas) sebagai anak petak. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, serapan hara dan efisiensi pemupukan. Untuk saat ini, sebagian besar industri pembuatan kertas memakai material kayu sebagai bahan baku. Khususnya di indonesia, jumlah lahan untuk menanam pohon untuk menghasilkan kayu semakin menipis dikarenakan semakin banyak lahan dialihfungsikan untuk perkebunan, bangunan, dan lain-lain. Dan juga kebutuhan akan serat juga menjadi masalah tambahan pada berkurangnya sumber daya hutan. Tujuan penelitian ini, kertas yang dihasilkan dari olahan alga merah dan serat batang rubik diharapkan mampu mengatasi masalah keterbatasan persediaan bahan baku kayu sebagai bahan baku pembuatan kertas. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi serat batang rubik, membuat pulp dengan memvariasikan jumlah persentase serat dengan alga (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%) dari 127,5 gr campuran pulp, membuat kertas dalam cetakan 20 cm x 30 cm. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengukuran fisik, pengujian tarik, dan observasi SEM. Nilai kuat tarik kertas tanpa penambahan serat adalah 0,055 kgf/mm2, sedangkan nilai kuat tarik kertas dengan penambahan serat 2%, 4%, 6%, dan 8% secara berturut-turut adalah 0,136 kgf/mm2; 0,147 kgf/mm2; 0,112 kgf/mm2; dan 0,165 kgf/mm2. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kertas dengan penambahan serat batang rubik mampu memperbaiki kuat tarik kertas tanpa penambahan serat batang rubik. Penelitian lanjutan perlu dilakukan lebih banyak variasi serat yang dipilih dan melakukan pengujian lainnya berdasarkan standard pengujian kertas. In this study, blood specimen were collected from 340 subjects with febrile complaints attending hospitals in Kaduna metropolis, Nigeria and who gave their consent to participate. Serological determination of dengue virus IgM was carried out using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay technique. Structured questionnaires were also administered to obtain data on demographic, risk factors,  and symptoms of illness. A total of 6 subjects were positive for dengue virus IgM giving a prevalence of 1.8%. There was no statistically significant association between the occurrence of dengue virus IgM and potential risk factors, demographic factors and symptoms of the illness. The occurrence of dengue virus in the study population was confirmed. Anaplasma marginale infects the erythrocytes and causes severe anaemia, weakness, loss of appetite, fever, depression, abortion, decreased milk production, constipation, jaundice and sometimes death. In Malaysia, data on A. marginale infection is still behind compared to other parasites such as nematodes. Anaplasmosis in livestock has received little attention in Malaysia with only occasional reports in cattle. In addition, the determinants of tick- and fly-borne transmission are not well understood. Looking into this possibility, this study was carried out to investigate and to compare the prevalence rate of bovine anaplasmosis in Malaysia. A seroprevalence study on bovine anaplasmosis was conducted at the Veterinary Research Institute, Malaysia. Sera of various cattle breeds were collected from farms and abattoirs to be tested for the presence of A. marginale. Competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (c-ELISA) Anaplasma antibody test kits by VMRD, Inc. were used for this study, where antibodies to A. marginale from sample sera inhibit the binding of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-labelled monoclonal antibody to the Anaplasma antigen coated on the plastic wells. A total number of 267 serum samples were tested and 79.4% were positive for bovine anaplasmosis. Results showed that the infection percentage is 100% in Pahang while the state with lowest infection percentage is Sabah with 59.2%. A comparison is done between Peninsular Malaysia with Sabah and Sarawak. The infection percentage in Peninsular Malaysia is higher at 87% while Sabah and Sarawak has an infection percentage of 60%. However, there is no significant difference in the rate of infections. The high number of cases in Peninsular Malaysia may be caused by the lack of strict control measures due to dependence on modern tools and drugs, while cases in Sabah and Sarawak may be due to traditional practices carried out frequently that may cause iatrogenic transmission. More samples should be obtained in order to validate the results. In addition, annual studies must be done to monitor the status of A. marginale prevalence in local cattle that is medically and economically significant to Malaysia.
