Pemeriksaan Indeks Wayne dan Indeks New Castle adalah pemeriksaan yang sama-sama dilakukan untuk mendiagnosis hipertiroidisme. Pemeriksaan laboratorium seperti tes darah untuk melihat kadar hormon FT3, FT4, dan TsHs secara pasti dapat mendiagnosis hipertiroidisme. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat sensitivitas Indeks Wayne dan Indeks New Castle dalam mendiagnosis hipertiroidisme. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan metode cross sectional, yang dilaksanakan pada periode 19 Agustus-19 Desember 2011 di Poliklinik Endokrin, RSUDZA Banda Aceh. Sampel terdiri atas 38 penderita (2 laki-laki dan 36 perempuan) yang berusia ?15 tahun dan dilakukan dengan didampingi Dokter Ahli Ilmu Penyakit Dalam sebagai penilainya. Kesemua pasien tersebut dilakukan pemeriksaan FT3, FT4, dan TsHs sebagai penentu diagnosis hipertiroidisme, dan dilakukan wawancara dan pemeriksaan fisik sesuai dengan Indeks Wayne dan Indeks New Castle. Hasil data yang ditampilkan berupa distribusi frekuensi dengan ukuran persentase atau proporsi. Didapatkan hasil rerata skor Indeks Wayne 20,78 dan rerata skor Indeks New Castle 30,37. Diperoleh juga sensivitas Indeks Wayne 52,63% dan Indeks New Castle 31,57%. Tapi saat penelitian juga ditemukan gejala lain diluar parameter Indeks Wayne dan Indeks New Castle berupa adanya keluhan kebas pada ekstremitas penderita 73,68% dan telinga berdengung 31,57%. Rice is very sensitive to high temperature stress at the flowering stage. The rice plants were exposed to high temperature condition under green house. Some varieties show tolerance to heat stress, and the others are sensitive. Nine local Acehness varieties: Si Puteh, Itam Tangke Lango, Ramos Tihion Tamping, Sireundeun Semantok, Bo Santeut Seumantok, Pade Cut Krusek, Sipirok, Sigeudop and Cantek Lembayung were observed for high temperature stress during flowering stage. The objective of this research are: to identify the effect of heat stress on reproductive stage of local Acehnese, Indonesian rice; and to find the varieties that sensitive and hopefully have the gene of “temperature genic male sterility” (TGMS) that can be used as restorer varieties for production of hybrid rice. Heat stress significantly decreased pollen viability, plant architecture, and yield components. The pollen viability was observed by stainability and germination rate of the pollen. Based on pollen germination ability showed that one variety of rice, Sigeudop, showed tolerance to high temperature stress. Whereas the sensitive variety was Bo Santeut Seumantok, the local Indonesian rice that is potential to have TGMS gene. Pollen stainability showed that all varieties of pollen involved stainability from plants cultivation at high temperature, and all the varieties had the high rate of pollen stainability. The objectives of this research were to measure the concentration of total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) compound, concentration of individual PAH compound, and to identify sources of PAH compound in seawater. PAH compound concentration was measured by Gas Chromatography (Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector) and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compound were identified by diagnostic ratio analysis. The results show that the concentration of PAH compound in the middle of Jakarta Bay was higher compared to the west and the east. In the west and middle of Jakarta Bay, it is found that 11 PAH types, and 10 types in the east. Individual PAH compound dominated by high moleculer weight of PAH Benzo(a)Anthracene, Chrysene, Benzo(b)Fluoranthene, Benzo(a)Pyrene, dan Indeno(123-cd) Pyrene. Jenis pembangkit listrik tenaga pedal umumnya bersifat statis. Dalam penelitian ini energi manusia yang terbuang ketika bersepeda dimanfaatkan untuk menggerakkan pedal sepeda yang dirancang agar bersifat dinamis sebagai sumber energy storage. Energi mekanik dari gerakan pedal sepeda dikonversikan menjadi energi listrik melalui alternator yang selanjutnya disimpan pada baterai untuk digunakan sesuai kebutuhan. Komponen utama pada sepeda pembangkit listrik ini adalah sepeda, gearbox, alternator, regulator dan baterai. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa kecepatan putaran roda sepeda sebelum pengisian adalah 2,03 m/s dan pada saat pengisian turun menjadi 1,42 m/s. Kecepatan alternator, tegangan dan arus maksimum pada saat proses pengisian masing-masing adalah 563 rpm, 14,94 volt, dan 3,78 A. Waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk proses pengisian baterai adalah 7,4 jam.
