The process of rainfall retention above the canopy of vegetation is known as interception. This study aimed to measure interception, throughfall, and stemflow on pine trees (Casuarina cunninghamia) at different ages 7, 15 and 30 years old, respectively. This research was conducted in the area of Taman Hutan Raya, Seulawah, Aceh Besar. Materials and tools used in this study were an automatic raingauge, measuring cups, measuring tape, clinometer, and Microsoft Excel software. Based on the research, the results showed that the age of the tree had significantly influenced the throughfall and stemflow. The tree’s diameter had significant influence on the large amount of throughfall and stemflow. The tree’s age greatly affected the density of tree canopy. The more dense the tree canopy, then the greater interception the tree had. The pine needle-shaped leaves densely grew that influenced the interception. Namun terjadinya penurunan produksi di beberapa daerah Provinsi Aceh dan perubahan kebijakan impor menyebabkan persediaan bawang merah di pasar menipis. Kondisi ini dapat menyebabkan harga menjadi meningkat sehingga dapat mempengaruhi permintaan bawang merah lokal di Kota Banda Aceh. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah harga bawang merah lokal, harga bawang merah impor, jumlah penduduk dan pendapatan perkapita masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh dapat mempengaruhi permintaan bawang merah lokal di Kota Banda Aceh. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan model persamaan regresi linier berganda dengan bantuan Software SPSS versi 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara serempak variabel dependen mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap variabel independent, namun secara parsial harga bawang merah lokal, harga bawang merah impor dan jumlah penduduk mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan sedangkan pendapatan perkapita masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak signifikan. Local onion production is unable to meet the need of domestic consumption so that the government has imported onion to meet the demand of it. The demand for onion in Banda Aceh tends to increase in line with the population growth. However, the decline of onion production in several regions of Aceh Province and import policy changes cause the supply of onion at the market thinned. This condition can cause the price rises and affect the demand for local onion in Banda Aceh. The aim of this study is to determine whether the price of local onion, the price of imported onion, the number of population and per capita income of the people of Banda Aceh affect the demand for local onion in Banda Aceh. The method of data analysis used is the regression model of multiple linear with the help of SPSS version 16.0. Rimbun Cooperative is a business unit operating a chocolate factory producing several chocolate products such as cocoa fat, cocoa powder, 3 in 1 instant drinks (sachets), and chocolate bars. This research aims to measure standard times of operators in all working stations of the chocolate factory. These standards comprised the standards in roasting, peeling, pasting, pressing, powdering, powder sieving, powder mixing, dough mixing, refining, and chonching working stations. The data were directly collected using Time Study method with Stop Watch. The samples were randomly selected with five (5) repetitions; and the standard times were measured using Westinghouse Method to quantify performance and allowance factors. The result shows that standard times of operators in each working station are as follows: roasting (36 minutes), peeling (193 minutes), pasting (276 minutes), pressing (78 minutes), powdering (17 minutes), powder sieving (14 minutes), powder mixing (36 minutes), dough mixing (17 minutes), refining (30 minutes), and chonching (30 minutes). In peeling, pasting, powdering, powder sieving working stations, standard times of operators cannot be separated with working times of machines because the operators are required to run the machines (sequence). In general, standard times of operators, after calculation, are larger than direct records because during the working times, operators would not or could not use allowance factors for personal uses, such as for going to bathroom, drinking, and socializing with their colleagues as means to reduce stress or boredom. Ubi kayu merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mengandung karbohidrat. Ubi kayu dapat dikeringkan untuk mendapatkan produk olahan contohnya pembuatan tepung dan gaplek. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan modifikasi pengering surya dengan menambahkan kincir angin savonius sebagai penggerak kipas pada pengering tersebut yang bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan sirkulasi udara didalam ruang pengering. Parameter yang dilakukan diantaranya pengukuran kecepatan udara, distribusi temperatur, kelembaban relatif, iradiasi surya dan pengukuran kadar air. Dengan penambahan kincir angin savonius, kecepatan udara di dalam pengering surya lebih stabil bila dibandingkan dengan kecepatan udara di lingkungan. Temperatur di dalam ruang pengering lebih tinggi dari pada temperatur lingkungan, sedangkan kelembaban relatif di dalam pengering lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan di lingkungan. Hal ini menyebabkan proses pengeringan berlangsung cepat. Nilai iradiasi surya yang didapat berfluktuasi. Iradiasi tertinggi diperoleh pada hari kedua penelitian yaitu 595 W/m2. Kadar air awal ubi kayu yaitu 61,7 %. Kadar air akhir yang diperoleh rak A5 yaitu sebesar 11,7% dan rak B1 yaitu sebesar 12,9% sudah mendekati kadar air yang diharapkan untuk  pembuatan tepung yaitu 12%. Performance of Solar Dryer by Using Savonius Windmill for Cassava (Manihot esculenta) DryingAbstract. Cassava is one of the plants that contain carbohydrates. Cassava can be dried to produce processed products such as cassava flour and “gaplek”. In this research, the solar dryer was modified by adding a savonius windmill as fan drive which aims to maximize the air circulation inside the drying chamber. The observed parameters include air velocity, the distribution of temperature, relative humidity, solar irradiation and the water content. The addition of savonius windmill caused the air velocity in the solar dryer was more stable when compared to the speed of the air in the environment. Moreover, the temperature in the drying chamber was higher than the ambient temperature, while the relative humidity in the dryer was lower than in the environment. As a result, it caused rapid drying process. Solar irradiation values obtained fluctuate. The highest irradiation was obtained on the second day of the study (595 W / m2). The moisture content of the cassava decreased from  61.7% to 11.7% (at A5 rack) and 12.9% (at B1 rack). Those values was approaching the expected flour water content (12% ).
