The results showed that the timing of providing organic materials exerted a significant effect on grain weight per hill and production per hectare, but no significant effect on variables of other rice growth and production. Factors investigated were growth media composition with a ratio of 1:1:1 (soil, compost, sand), (soil, compost, and rice husk), (soil, compost, saw dust), and Novelgro concentration of 0, 1, 2 and 3 cc/L of water.  Results showed that there was a significant effect of growth media composition on plant growth and leaf number  at  35, 45 and 55 day after planting (DAP), stem diameter at 45 and 55 DAP, fresh weight, dry weight and dry weight of root, but the media composition did not show significant  effect on plant growth and leaf number at 25 DAP and stem diameter at 25, 35 DAP. The best growth was found at media composition of soil, compost and sand with a ratio of 1:1:1.  Fertilizer concentration significantly affected stem diameter at 25 DAP but did not show a significant affect on plant growth and leaf number at 25, 35, 45, and 55 DAP, stem diameter at 35, 45, and 55 DAP, fresh weight, dry weight and dry weight of root. Plant growth was best at a fertilizer concentration of 2cc/L of water. The treatments were egg-host density (5, 10, 15, 30, and 60 eggs per pias) and temperature (18 oC, 25oC, and room temperature). The eggs of host were exposed to the parasitoid for 24 hours at the temperature tested. Then, the parasited eggs were reared at room temperature until they were darkened. The number of parasitized eggs was observed. The result of the study showed that the type of functional response of T. pretiosum on eggs of C. Cephalonica was type II. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas tiga ulangan. Metode pemberian cekaman panas dilakukan dengan meningkatkan suhu dalam kandang pada 33±1° C selama lima jam per hari dalam waktu lima belas hari. Pemberian kombinasi ekstrak jaloh dan kromium dilakukan dengan cara melarutkannya dalam air minum dan diberikan selama dua jam (pemberian pukul 10.00) sebelum suhu di dalam kandang mencapai 33±1° C. Pengambilan sampel serum dan jaringan paru dilakukan pada hari ke-15 pelaksanaan penelitian (ayam umur 36 hari). Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan sebelum ayam dipotong dan jaringan organ paru diambil setelah ayam dipotong. Pada sampel serum dilakukan pemeriksaan kortisol dengan enzymelinkedimmunosorbantassay (ELISA) dan deteksi HSP-70 di dalam jaringan paru dilakukan menggunakan metode imunohistokimia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian cekaman panas pada suhu 33±1° C selama lima jam per hari dapat meningkatkan pembentukan HSP-70 dalam paru dan kadar kortisol dalam serum. Lima belas tikus Wistar umur delapan minggu, secara acak dibagi tiga kelompok (normal/N, ovariektomi/Ov, dan ovariektomi + kalsitriol/OvD) masing-masing 5 tikus. Tikus kelompok N dan Ov diberi pakan standar, sedangkan tikus kelompok OvD diberi pakan standar + kalsitriol. Pada umur 14 minggu, tikus dimasukkan kandang metabolik individu untuk studi balan. Pada hari 4-7 studi balan, setiap hari sisa pakan, urin, dan feses dikoleksi untuk pemeriksaan Ca. Pada akhir penelitian, tikus dieutanasia, tulang femur kanan diambil pemeriksaan histopatologis dengan pengecatan hematoksilin dan eosin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi Ca dan retensi Ca pada tikus OvD tidak berbeda signifikan meskipun cenderung meningkat, sedangkan ekskresi Ca dalam feses dan urin meningkat sangat signifikan (P<0,01). Metafisis tulang femur distalis tikus kelompok OvD terlihat zona spikulum tulang trabekula lebih pendek dan berbentuk irreguler, dan rongga sumsum tulang didominasi jaringan adiposit. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi kalsitriol selama enam minggu pada tikus ovariektomi menyebabkan osteoporosis pada metafisis tulang femur distalis.
