<text> Abstract –The objective of the present study was to determine the best concentration of urea solution and rinsing time to remove adhesiveness of African catfish eggs. Four different concentrations of rinse solution were used in this experiment comprising of 2 g, 4 g, 6 g and 8 g of urea diluted in 4 g NaCl/L of water producing a concentration of 0.486 mM, 0.973 mM, 1.458 mM, and 1.946 mM of urea concentration respectively, while 4 g NaCl/L of water without urea were used as control. The fish eggs were rinsed with the solutions at different durations namely; 1, 5 and 10 minutes. Each rinsing solution concentration and rinsing time were conducted in three replicates. The fertilization and hatching rates increased and peaked from the control (0 mM of urea) to 0.466 mN urea and decreased when concentration of urea was increased to 0.973 mM urea and 1.458 mM urea, then increased again at 1.946 mM urea, but these values were lower than at 0.486 mM urea. Thus, the best concentration for fertilization and hatching rates were 0.486 urea of urea. However 0.973 mM of urea was optimum in reducing clumping of eggs. Keywords: Clumping; Fertilization; Hatching; Brood fish</text>

<text>Abstract: This research deals with the application of artificial grass planted on the channel banks influences to the Manning roughness coefficient (n). The information is useful in vegetative channel flow design, because the grass will stabilize the channel cross section, consolidate bed soil mass, control the bed and banks erosion and also the sediment movement along the channel's banks. This research was conducted at the Hydraulics Laboratory Engineering Faculty Unsyiah. A Multi Purpose Teaching Flume was used to model the channel. The flume wall was attached by artificial grass made of 'braided hafiah ropes' which varies in 5 different height and 3 different thickness. The flow depth also varies with 5 different height. The research results show that the higher and the thicker the grass, the greater the n Manning values and also its resistance. The Manning roughness coefficient (n) for the 12 cm grass height with 3 different grass thickness was in the range of 0.0118 to 0.0597. The 10 cm grass height with 3 different thicknesses shows the Manning coefficient in) in the range of 0.0080 to 0.0455. The 8 cm, 6 cm, and 4 cm grass height give the Manning roughness coefficient (n) range between 0.0081 to 0.0306, 0.0109 to 0.0431, and 0.0135 to 0.0425 respectively.

The research aim to rehabilitate land of mangrove as buffer zone in order to development of region of zoning mangrove in District of Baitussalam Sub-Province Aceh Besar. Method which is used in this research is descriptive method with technique of survey. Survey and intake of sample in field done/conducted by representative and perceive the condition of field physical. Analyzed to be land; ground sample to be taken until deepness 0 – 20 cm at the (time) of ebb sea water, each; every land; ground sample and water taken is then done/conducted by intake of coordinate point. Nature of water and land; ground in Laboratory is pH, DHL, SAR, and texture land ground. Result of Perception and research in field indicate that value of pH (6.82 – 8.02), DHL (2.40 – 7.50), SAR (1.37 – 3.00), and texture (sand, sandy loam, and sandy clay loam). Forest of Mangrove can grow and expand better as prop (buffer zone) between coastal region with continent. Development of mangrove in District of Baitussalam divided to the 3 zonings is coastal periphery zone (A) for the width of 1,091 ha (29.87%) located in countryside of Kajhu, Countryside of Cadek and Countryside of Lambada Lhok cultivated type mangrove of Rhizhospora spp. Middle zone (B) for the width of 1,289 ha (35.30%) located in countryside of Baet, Countryside of Cadek, Countryside of Kajhu, Countryside of Lambada Lhok, and Countryside of Cot Swamp cultivated type mangrove of Rhizospora mucronata, Bruguiera spp, and Ceriops spp. Hinterland zone or zone behind (C) from position go out to sea Ujong cultivated by type mangrove of Rhizospora apiculata, Mucronata Rhizopora, Avicennia spp (fires), and Nypa fructicans.</text>
