The aim of the research was to identify species of Anopheles’  breeding places at Desa Rukoh. In this research, the purposive sampling method has been implemented to obtain the samples from ten different locations around Desa Rukoh. Data collection was conducted by catching the larva at breeding places and catching the adult Anopheles  trapped by using Aspirator and Light Trap. CCD microscope was  used to identify the species of Anopheles. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by using the descriptive approaches. Based on laboratory analysis, it has been identified that three species of Anopheles namely, An. subpictus, An. vagus,  and An. sundaicus. The breeding places of Anopheles  at Desa Rukoh were ponds, buffalo’s trash dam, ex man’s footprint, ditches and swamp. The data were obtained by larva inventarization and habitat identification. The parameter observe in the research were number of the breeding places. The data were analysed descriptively. The result of this research showed that the breeding places were dominantly found at houses located in the Darussalam village and Limpok. Precisely, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus were found in pure indoor and outdoor containers. DASRUL, MUSLIM AKMAL.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemisahan spermatozoa dengan metode swim up terhadap kualitas spermatozoa, angka kebuntingan, dan rasio jenis kelamin anak kambing Peranakan Ettawa (PE). Pada penelitian ini digunakan 5 ekor kambing PE jantan berumur 18-24 bulan, yang ditampung masing-masing 1 kali tiap pejantan dengan menggunakan elektroejakulator. Semen berkualitas baik ditambahkan NaCl fisiologis 1:1 dan dibagi dalam 3 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok 1 sebagai kontrol (P0) yaitu semen yang tidak dipisahkan dengan swim up. Kelompok 2 sebagai perlakuan 1 (P1) yaitu semen yang dipisahkan dengan metode swim up selama 5 menit. Kelompok 3 sebagai perlakuan 2 (P2) yaitu semen yang dipisahkan dengan metode swim up selama 10 menit. Parameter kualitas spermatozoa yang diukur adalah persentase motilitas, spermatozoa hidup dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Sedangkan penilaian angka kebuntingan, dan rasio jenis kelamin anak diukur setelah perlakuan inseminasi pada induk betina. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analysis of variance (ANOVA) pola satu arah yang dilanjutkan dengan uji berganda Duncan. Hasil pengamatan konsentrasi, motilitas; spermatozoa hidup ; abnormalitas spermatozoa dan MPU spermatozoa setelah pemisahan berbeda secara nyata (P0,05) dibandingkan dengan swim up 10 menit. Demikian juga dengan angka kebuntingan dan rasio jenis kelamin kelahiran anak setelah pemisahan berbeda secara nyata (P0,05) dibandingkan dengan swim up 10 menit. Pemisahan spermatozoa dengan swim up dapat meningkatkan kualitas spermatozoa, angka kebuntingan dan rasio jenis kelamin anak jantan. Lama waktu swim up tidak berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap kualitas spermatozoa, angka kebuntingan dan rasio jenis kelamin anak jantan pada kambing PE. The aim of this research was to determine the ratio of birth sex of ettawa crossbreed goat by artificial insemination using spermatozoa swim up. This research was at Reproduction Laboratory Faculty of Veterinary medicine Syiah Kuala university and Livestock Group SMD, Bener Meriah Regency. Fifteen female goats with age 8-24 months where used in this study and divided into 3 treatment groups (P0, P1, P2) and 5 replications of each. The first group (P0) inseminated with sperm without swim up; P1 and P2 inseminated with sperm which swim up for 5 minutes (P1) and 10 minutes (P2). The result of conception rates observation and sex ratio of children born tabulated into tables. The data was analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) one way pattern followed by the multiple test Duncan. The results showed that the conception rate and birth sex ratio of male born had significantly different (P<0,05). The segregation of sperm which swim up increased the conception rate and birth sex ratio of male born. The objective of the present study was to evaluate diversity of phytoplankton as bioindicator water quality viewed from abundance, diversity index, evenness index, and saphrobic coefficient in Kuala Gigieng, Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province. Sampling was conducted on December 2011 to January 2012. This study applied purposive sampling method. The research obtained 4 families consisted of Crysopyceae (42 genera), Chlorophyceae (8 genera), Cyanophyceae (14 genera) and Euglenophyceae (4 genera). The highest abundance of phytoplankton was 1,362.89 ind/l at high tide on station 3 and the lowest was at low tide on station 1 (809,835 ind/l). The diversity index (H’) was ranged from 3.14 to 4.75, the evenness index (E) was ranged from 0.49 to 0.74, and saprobic coefficient was ranged from 0.331to 0.887. Based on saprobic coefficient, pollution level and water quality was categorized light to moderate level. Furthermore, phase of saprobic were     β-mesosaprobik, β-meso/Oligosaprobik dan β/α-mesosaprobik.Key words : phytoplankton, abundance, diversity index, saprobic coefficient.
