Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 4 kelompok perlakuan dan setiap kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor tikus. Perawatan dilakukan 2 kali sehari selama 21 hari, P1 (aquabides), P2 (daun kedondong + aquabides), P3 (vaselin), dan P4 (gerusan daun kedondong + vaselin). Parameter yang diamati adalah reaksi inflamasi dan distribusi jaringan kolagen yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada hari ke-7 P1 dan P3 adanya infiltrasi sel radang, hemoragi dan udema, pada P2 dan P4 terlihat banyak infiltrasi sel radang, gambaran hemoragi dan udema. Pada hari ke-14 masih banyak infiltrasi sel radang, serabut kolagen menyebar sangat tipis pada P1 dan P3, pada P2 infiltrasi sel radang berkurang sedikit, epitelisasi mulai terbentuk dan serabut kolagen tampak menyebar sedang, pada P4 epitelisasi mulai terbentuk dan serabut kolagen tampak menyebar rapat serta terlihat pembuluh darah baru. Pada hari ke-21 pada P1 dan P3 masih ada infiltrasi sel radang, epitelisasi dan serabut kolagen tipis, pada P2 lapisan epidermis kulit sudah terbentuk, terdapat pembuluh darah baru dan serabut kolagen terlihat lebih rapat, pada P4 lebih banyak terdapat pembuluh darah baru, lapisan epidermis terbentuk sempurna dan serabut kolagen menyebar dengan rapat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa gerusan daun kedondong dan vaselin (kelompok P4) mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka bakar pada tikus putih dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya.
