Perawatan saluran akar merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk menanggulangi infeksi pada saluran akar dan periradikuler. Salah satu tahapannya adalah dengan tindakan irigasi. Bawang putih (Allium sativum L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman umbi lapis yang mengandung senyawa-senyawa antimikroba seperti allicin, minyak atsiri, alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, dan saponin. Penelitian dengan desain eksperimental laboratories ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perasan bawang putih terhadap pertumbuhan E. faecalis. Enterococcus faecalis yang telah dikultur pada media CHROMagar VRE dan diinkubasi selama 24 jam pada suhu 37?C dalam suasana anaerob, dilakukan uji konfirmasi dengan pewarnaan Gram dan penentuan kekeruhan bakteri dengan spektrofotometer. Uji pengaruh perasan bawang putih terhadap pertumbuhan E. faecalis dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar pada media MHA. Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis dengan one way ANOVA dengan ?=0,05 dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Least Significance Difference (LSD). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perasan bawang putih memiliki pengaruh terhadap E. faecalis pada konsentrasi 25 dan 50%dengan kemampuan daya hambat lemah, sedangkan pada konsentrasi 75, dan 100% dengan kemampuan daya hambat yang sedang.Kata Kunci : Enterococcus faecalis, perawatan saluran akar, bawang putih (Allium sativum L.)xABSTRACTName : Rizki NovitaProgram Study : DentistryTitle : Effect of Garlic Juice (Allium sativum L.) as Root Canal Irrigation Material to Inhibit the Growth of Enterococcusfaecalis In VitroEnterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) is one of the Gram positive anaerobic facultative bacteria which also acts as normal flora in the oral cavity, however this bacteria can be pathogenic and takes the main role as causative agent of persistent periradicular lesion which occurred after root canal treatment. Root canal treatment is an effort to cured infection in the root canal and per iradicular, which part of its stages is irrigation. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is one of the alliaceous plants which contains antimicrobial substrates such as allicin, essential oil, alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, and saponin. This research was using an experimental laboratory design and aimed to determine the effect of garlic juice to inhibit the growth of E. faecalis. Pre-cultured E. faecalis on CHROMagar VRE media and incubated at 37?C temperature for 24 hour in an aerobic cond ucted, then confirmation test was to be done by Gram staining while bacterial turbidity wasdetermined by spectrophotometer. The effectiveness test of garlic juice to inhibit the growth of E. faecalis was done using agar diffusin method on MHA media. The data collected from this research were analyzed by one -way ANOVA with ?=0.05 and continued by Least Significance Difference test (LSD). Penelitian menggunakan 15 ekor ayam broiler umur sehari (DOC) yang dipelihara selama 34 hari. Kelompok kontrol negatif (A0) adalah yang diberikan pakan standar, kelompok kontrol positif (A1) adalah yang diberikan pakan standar dan diinfeksikan E. coli. Kelompok perlakuan (A2), (A3), dan (A4) diberikan pakan standar dan diinfeksikan E. coli, kemudian ditambah ekstrak daun kemangi dengan konsentrasi 2,5%; 3,5%; dan 4,5%. Penginfeksian E. coli diberikan secara intra peritoneum sebanyak 0,25 ml pada hari ke 15. Ekstrak daun kemangi diberikan sekali sehari mulai dari hari ke 7 sampai hari ke 34. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan pada kelompok A0 struktur mikroskopik hati normal, pada kelompok A1 terlihat adanya infiltrasi sel leukosit, degenerasi parenkimateus, degenerasi hidropis, hiperemi dan hemoragi pembuluh darah serta nekrosis sel hati. Kelompok A2 dan A3 terlihat perbaikan struktur mikroskopik hati. Pada kelompok A4 hati terlihat mendekati normal. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun kemangi dapat memperbaiki struktur mikroskopik hati pada ayam broiler yang diinfeksikan E. coli. Pemberian ekstrak daun kemangi dengan dosis 4,5% memiliki efektivitas yang lebih baik dari dosis 2,5% dan 3,5%. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang terbukti melalui hasil ulangan harian, siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menanggapi pelajaran, dan banyak siswa yang kurang aktif pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang mendorong siswa untuk memecahkan masalah terkait dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. model ini dapat pula membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu serta menciptakan diskusi yang menyenangkan di lingkungan belajar sehingga terjalin interaksi aktif dan efektif antara guru dan siswa. Rumusan masalah adalah apakah hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning lebih baik dibandingkan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan pendekatan konvensional di SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model Problem-Based Learning lebih baik dibandingkan hasil belajar menggunakaan pendekatan konvensional di SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. Populasi penelitian 58 siswa yang merupakan seluruh siswa kelas X.IPS di SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh, sedangkan sampel penelitian sebanyak 2 kelas, kelas X.IPS-1 dan kelas X.IPS-2 yang masing-masing berjumlah 29 siswa. Teknik pengambilan data yaitu melakukan observasi, studi kepustakaan, dan memberikan Pre-Test dan Post-Test. Teknik analisis data memakai rumus ANOVA untuk mengolah data Pre-Test, sedangkan rumus uji t untuk mengolah Post-Test. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji t diperoleh thitung = 2.63. jika nilai ini dibandingkan dengan nilai tabel taraf signifikansi 5% dk (n1+n2 - 2), maka diperoleh ttabel = 1,68, jadi terlihat thitung ? ttabel sesuai kriteria maka Ha diterima. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diambil kesimpulan, yaitu hasil belajar geografi yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning lebih baik dibandingkan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional di kelas X SMA Banda Aceh.
