Scientific studies of asam sunti are relatively limited, while study of change on physical and chemical characteristics of asam sunti does not exist. The objective of this research was to study the change of physical characteristics of bilimbi during fermentation. This study used explorative laboratory design. Asam sunti was produced in laboratory scale with three times repetition and sample was taken three times in stages, i.e., before sun-drying and salting (stage 1), after repeated sun-drying and salting (stage 2), and fermentation for 1 month (stage 3). Parameters analyzed on physic characteristics included aw, texture and color. Significant change on physic characteristics were found during the processing of bilimbi to become asam sunti. The value of aw of the bilimbi was found to decrease after processing (sun-drying and salting) and fermentation for 1 month. Texture of the bilimbi increased at stage 2 and decreased at the last of fermentation. The colour of the bilimbi changed from green to brown after the whole processing (salting, drying and fermentation). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan asap rokok 10 batang/ekor/hari selama 2,5 jam dalam smoking chamber terhadap 24 ekor tikus jantan yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok, masing-masing 6 ekor dalam tiap kelompok. Kelompok P1 adalah kelompok yang tidak diberi perlakuan (kontrol), P2 adalah kelompok yang dipapar asap rokok selama 20 hari, P3 adalah kelompok yang dipapar asap rokok selama 40 hari, P4 adalah kelompok yang dipapar asap rokok selama 60 hari. Parameter yang diamati adalah kualitas spermatozoa dan jumlah sel-sel spermatogenik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemaparan asap rokok dapat menurunkan konsentrasi spermatozoa dan viabilitas spermatozoa serta meningkatkan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Disimpulkan bahwa pemaparan asap rokok 10 batang/ekor/hari menyebabkan penurunan kualitas spermatozoa dan jumlah sel-sel spermatogenik yang tidak kembali ke kondisi normal setelah proses penyembuhan. This study was conducted in Banda Aceh Municipality, Aceh Province to report the pathological changes in liver of Aceh cattle infected with Fasciola gigantica. In this study, livers of male aceh cattles were collected from slaughter area when Qurban in Idul Adha during two years (2011 to 2012). A total of 15 aceh cattle livers were examined. Establishment of F. gigantica were observed, and pathological changes of liver were identified. The result showed that out of 15 male Aceh cattle livers 6 (40%) were found infected with F. gigantica. The common pathological changes found in this study were the hepatic damage, and the bile ducts were changes in size and shape with the dilated lumen. The bile ducts were found filled with blackish brown exudate, which contained adult F. gigantica. In conclusion, fascioliasis is greatly responsible for hepatic damage, and currently expanding as an important veterinary public health problem. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori perubahan perilaku oleh Rogers yang menurutnya tahapan perilaku itu dimulai dari adanya motivasi yang kuat dari individu, untuk berubah dari suatu keadaan semula ke situasi yang baru dengan adanya penyesuaian yang didasarkan atas pertimbangan baik dan buruk suatu perilaku. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak perubahan yang telah terjadi pada masyarakat Gampong Iboih diantaranya pola mata pencaharian penduduk yang rata-rata telah berkerja di bidang industri pariwisata. Perubahan struktur sosial masyarakat lokal yaitu beralihnya pekerjaan masyarakat dari agraris ke sektor industri dan berkurangnya masyarakat yang tidak bersekolah. Perubahan pola budaya masyarakat lokal, perubahan pada penggunaan bahasa, perubahan cara berpakaian dan perubahan pola konsumsi. Perubahan gaya hidup komersil masyarakat lokal dan perubahan perilaku dalam keluarga. Faktor-faktor yang mempegaruhi perubahan sosial yaitu pola pikir masyarakat lokal yang sudah maju, sikap masyarakat lokal yang terbuka dan adanya kontak dengan kebudayaan lain. Asap rokok filter dan rokok kretek dapat menyebabkan perubahan warna pada email gigi .Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan warna yang terjadi pada email gigi setelah pemaparan rokok filter dan rokok kretek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dengan desain pre test post test control design. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan 20 gigi premolar yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu 10 spesimen kelompok rokok filter dan 10 spesimen kelompok rokok kretek. Kemudian setiap spesimen dari dua kelompok dipaparkan asap rokok dari 10 batang rokok dengan aspirasi selama 3 menit. Pengukuran perubahan warna dinilai dengan menggunakan shade guide. Hasil analisa menggunakan uji t didapatkan bahwa ada perbedaan bermakna antara sebelum dan setelah pemaparan pada kelompok rokok filter dan kelompok rokok kretek.
