In addition, provision of appropriate fertilizer has great potential for strengthening food self-sufficiency and for future agricultural development. The study was aimed at determining growth and yield of three varieties of upland rice under a compound fertilizer. The experiment was arranged in split plot design, consisting of three upland rice varieties and three levels of compound fertilizer. The main plot was upland rice varieties, i.e. Inpago 4, Inpago 5, and Inpago 8, while the subplot was compound fertilizer, i.e. a dose of 0 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, and 250 kg/ha. Results showed that varieties significantly affected plant height, panicle numbers, and panicle length, but did not significant affect weight of 1000 grains and dried grain. Inpago 4 was the best variety. The best of NPK fertilizer was found at dose of 250 kg/ha. Solar energy is a potential energy source, so it needs to consider aspects of the benefits brought about by the sun. This study aims to examine the variation of the solar collector tilt angle to get the collector with optimum results. The material used is wood frame with insulating material zinc in black paint. Temperature measurements carried out in an open space with solar energy as a source of energy for heating. Measurements were taken from 09.00 am - 17.00 pm with measurements every hour. Thermometer was used to measure the temperature, where the measurement is made by 4 (four) points in each space of collector. Production of Soybean on dry land in Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) is still low and its productivity increase moves tardy. From 1989 - 1994 the soybean production was successively: 1,6 ; 1,18 ; 1,18 ; 1,20 and 1,21 tons/ha. Some constraints often met in dry land soybean cultivation are low and varied land fertility, high weed population, low seed quality and unestimated rainfall pattern. Especially for seed, constraint faced by farmer in production center area is unavailability of superior seed. This research was aimed to get superior varieties of Soybean which is adaptive in specific location. This research started from June to September 2004. This research used Non Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design, followed by Duncant Multiple Rank Test. Treatment factors were five varieties of Soybean, consisting of Kaba, Merbabu, Mahameru, Sinabung and Pangrango. Observation of adaptability was based on variablity of growth and production component. Results of research showed that average production which can be reached  were Kaba 1.202,5 kgs/ha, Mahameru 652,5 kgs/ha, Merbabu 1.787,5 kgs/ha, Pangrango 1.219 kgs/ha and Sinabung 1.660,6 kgs/ha. Pengujian ini menggunakan jenis kincir angin eksperimen dengan jenis kincir sumbu horizontal dengan jumlah empat sudu dan enam sudu berdiameter 2 meter. Pengujian ini dilakukan di Alunaga untuk mengetahui sudu mana yang lebih baik digunakan terhadap potensi angin yang ada di daerah tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kombinasi antara teori dan lapangan. Dari pengujian kincir angin ini di ketahui kecepatan angin, putaran, tegangan dan pengaruh pembebanan yang terjadi. Urea fertilizer also significantly affected seedling growth of betel palm. The best dosage of urea for the seedling growth was 1.5 g per seedling. Metode Deskriptif digunakan untuk memberikan gambaran lebih jauh dari apa yang terlihat dilapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, pola konversi lahan yang terjadi di Kecamatan Krueng Barona Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah berpola sawah menjadi perumahan, sawah menjadi pertokoan, sawah menjadi pabrik kopi dan sawah menjadi fasilitas umum (jalan). Terjadi perubahan pola kerja pelaku konversi, yang sebelum terjadi konversi lahan isri tidak bekerja, namun setelah terjadinya konversi lahan istri mengambil porsi untuk menyumbang pendapatan bagi keluarga. Dampak yang dirasakan karena konversi lahan adalah terjadinya penurunan luas lahan pertanian yang berdampak terhadap penurunan produksi padi di Kecamatan Krueng Barona Jaya serta pertumbuhan terhadap sarana dan prasarana wilayah seperti prasarana transportasi, pendidikan, kesehatan, keamanan serta prasarana umum lainnya.Kata Kunci : konversi lahan, pola konversi lahan, dampak konversi lahan. The result showed that moisture content of  A. marina seed was 60.75-64.67% at shedding. The highest ratio of (raffinose + stachyose) / sucrose was 0.41, indicating that embryonic axes were more tolerant to desiccation than cotyledon.   Anatomical observation of embryonic axes showed that there was radicle damage due to  medium and slow drying treatment.
