Pemekaran wilayah tersebut dirasakan lebih efektifuntuk mempercepat pembangunan guna meningkatkan taraf kehidupan sosialmasyarakat.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengatahui perkembangan KecamatanPaya Bakong pasca pemekaran wilayah (1) dalam aspek pemerintahan (2) dalamaspek sosial (3) dalam aspek ekonomi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif sedangkan jenis penelitian adalah penelitian sejarah. Dalampengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara (interviuw) observasi danstudi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa: (1)Perkembangan dibidang pemerintahan Kecamatan Paya Bakong sejak terbentuknyamenjadi kecamatan terdapat 39 desa dan 4 kemukiman dalam sistem pemerintahandesa di Kecamatan Paya Bakong terdiri dari kepala desa dan tuha peut yangmenjalankan roda pemerintahan desa. (2) perkembangan dibidang sosial diKecamatan Paya Bakong sangat membantu masyarakat dalam bidang pendidikan,pelayanan kesehatan, peribadatan masyarakat, dan rumah masyarakat. (3)perkembangan ekonomi di Kecamatan Paya Bakong terdiri dari pertanian,perkebunan, peternakan dan perdagangan dari semua sektor tersebut dari jenispertanian sawah mampu menembuhkan perekonomian masyarakat Paya Bakongketimbang jenis komoditas lainnya.
