Sebanyak 30 sampel diperoleh penelitian ini pada rentang waktu Februari 2013 sampai Maret 2014 di Ruang Instalasi Gawat Darurat dan Ruang Rawat Inap Ilmu Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampling kuota. Data dianalisa dengan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan LSD. Data dianggap signifikan jika nilai p < 0,05. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai ambang batas minimum kadar PCT pada sepsis 0,62 ng/dl, sepsis berat 4,24 ng/dl dan sepsis syok 20,95 ng/dl. The purpose of this research is to find out the program of academic supervision, the implementation of academic supervision and the approach used in implementing academic supervision at State Junior High School (SMPN) 3 Peusangan of Bireuen Regency. The method employed within this research was qualitative approach. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation study. The subjects of this research were the principal and teachers ofSMPN 3 Peusangan, Bireuen. The results revealed that (1) the principal compiles the program of academic supervision through discussion with the vice principals and teachers; (2) the implementation of academic supervision conducted by the principal is regularly scheduled based on teachers’ invitation and also unscheduled without advance notification. The principal and vice principal of academic affairs share their duty in implementing academic supervision; (3) the technique of supervision performed by the principal is through visiting, observing and grouping classes. Yet, the supervision method used has not varied yet. It can be seen from the implementation of supervision including its process that the implementation of supervision by the principals of SMPN 3 Peusangan, Bireuen has not fully maximized yet. In order to follow up the results of academic supervision, the principal is expected to supervise, guide and assist the teachers such as encouraging them to take part in seminar and training through inviting skilled and competent speakers. Finally, the principal is also expected to provide the opportunity for the teachers to continue their study to the university.Keywords: Supervision and Teachers’ ProfessionalismAbstrak: Supervisi akademik sangat penting dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan profesionalitas guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui program supervisi akademik, pelaksanaan supervisi akademik, dan teknik yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan supervisi akademik di SMP Negeri 3 Peusangan Kabupaten Bireuen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kepala SMP Negeri 3 Peusangan Bireuen menyusun program supervisi akademik secara musyawarah dengan melibatkan wakil kepala sekolah dan para guru , (2) Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik oleh kepala sekolah dilakukan secara terjadwal atau berdasarkan undangan guru dan tidak terjadwal atau tanpa pemberitahuan kepada para guru terlebih dahulu. Dalam melaksanakan supervisi akademik kepala sekolah juga membagi tugas supervisi dengan wakil kepala bidang akademik (3) Teknik supervisi yang digunakan kepala sekolah adalah kunjungan kelas, observasi kelas, dan teknik kelompok. Namun, teknik supervisi yang digunakan belum bervariasi. Dilihat dari pelaksanaan supervisi serta prosesnya, maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa pelaksanaan supervisi oleh kepala sekolah SMP Negeri 3 Peusangan Bireuen dikategorikan belum begitu maksimal. Untuk menindak lanjuti hasil supervisi akademik ditempuh dengan membimbing, mengarahkan, membantu para guru, mengikuti seminar, penataran dan mengundang narasumber yang kompeten. The advantages of vaccination are that it reduces the risk of infection, and concurrently reduces morbidity, mortality and shedding of virus. The goal of the present study was to evaluate efficacy of Avian Influenza commercial vaccine based on humoral immunity responses of laying hens. Totally, 20 breakel silver layer hens were used in this research. The laying hens were vaccinated using Avian Influenza commercial vaccine (H5N1). Blood samples were collected from the axilaris vein (left or rigt) one time at prevaccination and repeated three times with an interval of one month at postvaccination. Antibody titres were examined using Hemaglutination Inhibition (HI). The result showed that Avian Influenza commercial vaccine (H5N1) was a good protection because the vaccine was able to trigger protective humoral immunity of laying hens indicated by increasing of antibody titre in serum of vaccinated laying hens during three months. Formulation of the problem in this research are: 1) does increased understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning by using guided discovery method is better than students who received conventional learning is reviewed based on: a) the whole student, b) the level of students' mathematical ability (high, medium, and low)?; 2) Is there an interaction between factors of learning methods and levels of understanding of students' mathematical ability to increase understanding of mathematical or mathematical reasoning?; 3) Is there a positive correlation between increased capacity and improved mathematical understanding of mathematical reasoning ability in learning by using guided discovery method? This type of research is a quantitative study using a pretest- posttest with control group design. The experiment was conducted in YPPU, Junior High School Sigli, Aceh with the number of students of 60 people consisting of two classes of experimental classes to acquire learning and control method of guided discovery learning classes to obtain by conventional methods. Collecting data using a test for the ability of mathematical understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities. Processing the data using the t test and two-ways ANOVA with SPSS 17.0 with significance level α = 0.05. Based on the analysis of data it can be concluded that increasing the understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities of students who obtained with the method of guided discovery learning is better than learning by students who received conventional methods are reviewed based on the whole student and based on the level of the student. There is no interaction between the factors and the level of students' learning methods to increase understanding or mathematical reasoning ability.
