Bireuen district has been known as soybean production centre in Aceh Province. However, average yield obtained is still under national yield. This research aimed: (1) to find out a relationship between land suitability and soybean yield, (2) to evaluate a relationship between land characteristics and soybean yield, (3) to determinate the land characteristics as determinable factor for soybean yield. There were nine characteristics sites were used under soybean farming that have land heterogeneity among sites and homogeneity within sites: 4 under rice field and 5 under rainfed. Natures of land morphology was evaluated each sites, and then soil samples were taken for soil properties evaluation in laboratory. The parameter of land morphology properties, physical and chemical were then adjusted according to the need of land suitability for soybean. Level of land management and its yield done by farmers were also evaluated. Yield from each plot (2 x 3 m2) was at random determined. The land suitability class was determined by comparing the land characteristics/land quality with soybean growth specification. Criteria made by Agriculture Department was used as a guidance. Futhermore, in order to determine determinable land characteristics were arranged in multiple linear regression analyses, in which yield of soybean as a Y and land characteristics as a X. Research result showed that the class of land suitability established were in parallel with soybean yields measure under relatively good management plots. Of the land characteristics that can be used as determinable factor were slope, rainfall, texture, drainage, and nutrient storage (pH). A multiple linear regression equation was established for soybean yield as follow: Y= -1.133 – 0.018X1 + 0.001X2 – 0.001X3 + 0.009X4 + 19.555X5 + 0.025X6 + 0.781X7 – 0.019X8; R2= 0.98, where : X1 = slope, X2= soil susceptibility to erosion, X3= rainfall, X4= sand fraction, X5= N-total, X6= P-available, X7= K-exchange, X8= base saturation, and R2= determination coefficient. Setiap individu Murai Batu memiliki kualitas suara yang berbeda-beda saat diperlombakan dan dewan juri hanya mengandalkan indera pendengaran dalam pemberian nilai kualitas suara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui frekuensi gelombang suara Murai Batu sebagai penilaian kualitas suara burung yang diperlombakan sehingga dapat memberikan penilaian yang objektif. Individu burung yang digunakan dalam tahap penilaian kualitas suara adalah sebanyak tiga ekor burung Murai Batu (Copsychus malabaricus). Penilaian kualitas suara burung telah dilakukan selama bulan Juni-Agustus 2014. Perekaman suara pada setiap burung sampel dilakukan di rumah pemilik burung. Kemudian hasil rekaman suara dikonversikan dalam bentuk grafik frekuensi gelombang suara melalui program Data Studio dengan menggunakan alat sound sensor kemudian dengan interface suara diolah menjadi digital. Sedangkan untuk melihat song repertoire dan syllable repertoire dilakukan digitalisasi suara melalui program Avisoft. Perekaman suara dilakukan terhadap setiap individu burung pada pagi hari dalam rentang waktu pukul 09.00-11.00 WIB. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa Individu Murai Batu A merupakan burung yang berkualitas paling baik dibandingkan dengan dua individu lainnnya karena memiliki rerata frekuensi paling tinggi (4460Hz), song repertoire (99) dan syllable repertoire (364). Currently the most commonly used drug for child epilepsy patients is valproic acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the short-term memory scores in children with epilepsy patients who receive valproic acid monotherapy. The sample used was epileptic patients who went to the Children's Clinic and Social Pediatrics in Banda Aceh RSUDZA with the sampling technique using a consecutive sampling method were 35 respondents. The results indicate short-term memory impairments in children with epilepsy patients who received valproic acid monotherapy were 11 (31.4%) persons. Group of the most experienced short-term memory impairment is a long time consuming valproic acid group 1 year is still below the mean score of short-term memory in this study showed valproic acid is still has potency to cause short-term memory impairment.Keyword: short-term memory, epilepsy, children, valproic acid. ABSTRAKKecepatan proses kognitif bergantung dari derajat aktivasi memori jangka pendek. Saat ini obat yang paling sering digunakan untuk pasien epilepsi anak adalah asam valproat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui skor memori jangka pendek pada pasien epilepsi anak yang mendapatkan monoterapi asam valproat. Sampel yang digunakan adalah pasien epilepsi yang berobat ke Poliklinik Anak dan Pediatrik Sosial di RSUDZA Banda Aceh dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode consecutive sampling sebanyak 35 responden. Hasil menunjukkan gangguan memori jangka pendek pada pasien epilepsi anak yang mendapatkan monoterapi asam valproat sebanyak 11 orang (31,4%).
