Several systems have been implemented to reduce levels of microorganisms is the use of disinfectants, the membrane filtration and activated carbon absorption. These systems have several weaknesses, so that not all microorganisms can be removed from drinking water. The plasma system is an applicable technology for removing organic compounds and microorganisms in drinking water. By creating plasma in water will produce several of active species such as OH-, H+, O3 and H2O2 that has a high oxidation potential, decompose organic compounds and kill microorganisms in the water significantly. This paper will describe the removal of microorganisms in drinking water using a plasma system by the method of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD ). The results howed that the pH of drinking water produced in the range 6.5 to 7.3. The higher voltage causes the higher the conductivity, temperature and ORP water. Removal efficiency for the content of microorganisms Coli Fecal and Coliform in the range 99.2 to 100% after water was injected voltage of 13-17 kV for 10 minutes. Laundry wastewater treatment has been conducted by membrane technology. Preparation of cellulose diacetate  membranes with ultrafiltration process had be done by phase inversion using dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent. The filtration experiment showed that the highest membrane flux was 77,408 L/m2.h at TMP 3 bar. While the lowest flux at TMP 1 bar was 55.649 L/m2.h. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan adsorben dalam proses pengolahan limbah cair industri pupuk urea, yaitu terhadap perbandingan penurunan nilai COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) dengan memvariasikan komposisi adsorben dengan waktu kontaknya. Konsentrasi urea yang tinggi di dalam badan air dapat menyebabkan blooming algae dalam ekosistem tersebut yang dapat mengakibatkan kehidupan biota air lain terserang penyakit. Peristiwa ini terjadi karena kurangnya nutrisi bagi biota air dan sedikitnya sinar matahari yang dapat menembusi permukaan air. Disamping kedua hal tersebut di atas, algae juga dapat memproduksi senyawa beracun bagi biota air dan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah urea menggunakan oksidasi konvensional (H2O2) dan Advanced Oxidation Processes (kombinasi H2O2-Fe2+) pada pH 5 dengan parameter yang digunakan adalah variasi konsen-trasi awal H2O2  dan konsentrasi Fe2+. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa penurunan konsentrasi urea tertinggi diperoleh pada penggunaan reagen fenton (8000 ppm H2O2 dan 500 ppm Fe2+), yaitu dapat menurunkan urea dari konsentrasi awal urea 2566,145 ppm menjadi 0 ppm. Kinetika reaksi dekomposisi urea menjadi amonium dan amonium menjadi nitrit dan nitrat yang diuji mengikuti laju kinetika reaksi orde 1 (satu) terhadap urea dan orde satu terhadap amonium dengan konstanta laju reaksi masing-masing k1 = 0,019 dan k2 = 0,022 min-1. Apa bila limbah cair tersebut langsung dibuang ke selokan atau badan air tanpa pengolahan maka dapat menimbulkan pencemaran air dan mengakibatkan eutrofikasi. Metode fitoremediasi dinilai sangat layak untuk diterapkan dalam pengolahan limbah laundry. Tanaman yang digunakan dalam metode ini adalah kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatica forsk) dan jeringau (Acorus calamus l). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tanaman kangkung air dan jeringau dalam menurunkan zat organik dan anorganik dalam limbah pencucian pakaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kedua tanaman efektif untuk menurunkan beberapa zat pencemar yang terkandung dalam limbah laundry. Kedua tanaman dapat menetralkan pH sampai nilai 7, dan sangat efektif untuk penurunan BOD mencapai lebih dari 80% oleh tanaman kangkung air sedangkan oleh jeringau bisa mencapai 81,4%. Penggunaan jeringau dan kangkung air dapat menurunkan nilai COD berturut-turut sebesar 42,5% oleh tanaman jeringau dan dengan tanaman kangkung sebesar 41,3%. When the waste is directly discharged into the sewers or river without treatment, it can cause water pollution and positively will ignite eutrofication process at natural water. Phytoremediation considered very feasible method to be applied in laundry wastewater treatment facilities. Plants used in this method are water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk) and Jeringau (Acorus Calamus l). The aim of this research is to determine the effect of Spinach water and Sweet Flag in reducing organic and inorganic substances in the Laundry Wastewater. The results showed that the use of both plants are effective to reduce amount of the contaminants contained in the laundry waste. Both plants can neutralize the pH to a value of 7, and its very effective for reduction in BOD by Water spinach and Sweet Flag was 80 % and 81.4 %, respectively. The results showed that the reduction in COD by Water spinach and Sweet Flag was 41.3 % and 42.5%, respectively.
