The objective of research was to observe the influence of various media and fertilizer, as well as the interaction of each other to the growth and yield of tomato planted hydroponically. The treatment composed of two factors, namely various media (paddy’s husks / kuntan, sands, and mixture of  kuntan and sands) and fertilizers (Vitamon, Bayfolan, Complesal and Hoagland solution). The research was assigned in completely randomized design in a factorial manner, consisting three replications. The results showed that the best growth and highest yield of the tomato were found in the mixture medium (kuntan + sands). These results were significantly different from those of the single medium. The use of Hoagland solution resulted on the best growth and highest yield of tomato which were not significantly different from those of Bayfolan and Complesal Fertilizer. The fenomena cannot be solved until now. We proposed new technigue, Geographic Information System (GIS)  for solving the problem mainly in agriculture area. The aim of this research for estimating habitat carrying capacity of Sumatran elephant habitat (Elephas maximus sumatranus Temminck) using Geographic Information System. Habitat and animal parameter estimated consist of biotic and abiotic factors. The factors analized suitability analysis using software Autocad Map 2000 and Arcview 3.1. this research result showed habitat carrying capacity in secondary forest (wet season :0,89±0,11 s.d 0,96±0,12 elephant/km²; dry:0,55±0,07 s.d 0,59 ± 0,08 elephant/km²) higher than primary forest (wet season: 0,20±0,02 to 0,26±0,05 elephant/km²  dry: 0,09±0,01 s.d 0,11±0,02 ind/km²). Based on suitability analysis estimated elephant carrying capacity in Tessonilo Forest in wet season (689,45±51,67 to 750,05± 109,14 elephants) higher than dry season (397,85 ±48,45 to 434,88±61,51 elephants). Elephant numbers fluctuated seasonally can be used for planting time strategy in agrculture system. The estimation of habitat carrying capacity did not consider habitat use seasonally. Namun, kendala yang dihadapi saat ini adalah lambatnya akses internet yang disebabkan oleh ketersediaan bandwidth yang terbatas, sehingga para pelajar dan mahasiswa yang mengakses situs pendidikan menjadi lambat. Dalam tugas akhir ini, dilakukan pengidentifikasian terlebih dahulu terhadap situs pendidikan dengan melakukan survey pembagian kuesioner ke warung kopi, sekolah, dan perguruan tinggi serta juga dilakukan wawancara dengan Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Aceh. Selanjutnya, digunakan squid proxy server sebagai salah satu solusi untuk mempercepat akses internet menuju situs pendidikan. pengujian delay dan throughput dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan squid proxy server. Pada pengujian delay, didapatkan hasil berupa waktu penghematan setelah penggunaan squid proxy server rata-rata sebesar 57,80 %. Sedangkan pada pengujian throughput, squid proxy server berhasil menghemat bandwidth dengan penghematan rata-rata mencapai 56,94 %. THE USE OF SQUID PROXY SERVER TO INCREASE INTERNET ACCESS TO EDUCATION SITES IN COFFEE SHOPSABSTRACT Internet facility is an additional service provided by coffee shops to compete with the other coffee shops that following by the growth of the coffee shop, especially in Banda Aceh city. A lot of students use this facility to search for school materials or college materials by accessing the education sites. But, the current problem is the slow of internet access due to the limited availability of bandwidth, so that the network that used by students to access the education site becomes slow. In this thesis, first of all is to identity education sites by survey which is distribution a questionnaires to coffee shops, schools, and colleges, and also conducted an interview with Education Department of Aceh province. Furthermore, squid proxy server is used as solution to increase internet access to education sites. From delay and throughput test we can see the effect of using squid proxy server. On delay testing, the result using squid proxy server is 57.80%. To asses the relationship, data were colleced  from 87 enterprises in service.            The result of this research indicate that the intensity of market competition is a determinant of the use of the information MAS which, in turn, is a determinant plays a mediating role in the relationship between the intensity of market competition and business unit performance. A two-step pretreatment of degumming and esterification was conducted to prepare UFO as raw material for transesterification. The esterification and transesterification was performed by using ethanol as solvent in the presence of ultrasonic irradiations operating at frequency of 40 kHz. The esterification was carried out with oil to ethanol ratio of 1:10, temperature of 60oC and reaction time of 4 hours in the presence of 1 wt .% H2SO4 as an acid catalyst. Meanwhile, the transesterification reaction was carried out with oil to ethanol molar ratio of 1:8, 1:10, 1:12, 1:15; KOH catalyst concentration of 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25 and 1.5 wt.%; and reaction temperature of 40, 50 and 60oC. The highest biodiesel yield of 65% obtained at ultrasound-assisted transesterification condition of oil to ethanol molar ratio of 1:12, reaction temperature of 50oC and KOH concentration of 1 wt.%.
