Penggunaan bahan baku tumbuhan sebagai agen antimikroba dapat mencegah resistensi antimikroba. Bawang Bombay (Allium cepa L.Var. Cepa) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang mengandung komponen senyawa sulfur yang disebut thiosulfinate atau isothiocyanates. Senyawa tersebut diketahui memiliki efek antibakteri maupun antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur minyak atsiri bawang Bombay terhadap isolat klinis C. albicans. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 kelompok perlakuan (konsentrasi 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20%) dan 1 kelompok kontrol negatif (akuades dan Tween 80) dengan 4 kali pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antijamur dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram Kirby-Bauer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan minyak atsiri bawang Bombay tidak memiliki daya hambat terhadap isolat klinis C. albicans.Kata Kunci : Candida albicans, Allium cepa L. Var. Cepa, difusi cakram.ABSTRACTCandida albicans is one of the fungi that cause opportunistic infections in humans and reported resistant to several classes of antifungal drugs. The use of natural products as an antimicrobial agent can prevent antimicrobial resistance. Onion (Allium cepa L. Var. Cepa) is one of the plants that contain sulfur compounds component called thiosulfinate or isothiocyanates. These compounds are known to have antibacterial and antifungal effects. The aims of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of the essential oil of onion against clinical isolates of C. albicans. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of five treatment groups (concentration of 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) and one negative control group (distilled water and Tween 80) with 4 repetitions. Antifungal activity test was conducted by using Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, energi surya dipilih sebagai energi alternatif untuk menghasilkan energi listrik. Penambahan Trichoderma pada Kompos Limbah Kakao dan Pengaruhnya dalam Menekan Patogen Tular Tanah Phythopthora palmivora pada Pembibitan Kakao. Di bawah bimbingan Rina Sriwati sebagai ketua dan Husni sebagai anggota.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma virens dan T. harzianum + T. virens pada kompos limbah kakao terhadap perkembangan Phythopthora palmivora pada pembibitan kakao. Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Mei 2013 hingga Juni 2014 di Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan serta pada rumah jaring, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Kompos dibuat dengan mengumpulkan kulit kakao yang berasal dari daerah Pidie Jaya. Perbandingan kompos dan tanah yang digunakan sebagai media tanam bibit kakao adalah 40: 60 %. Penelitian ini didesain dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan sebelas perlakuan (berikut dua kontrol) dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas tiga perlakuan jenis: T. harzianum; T. virens; T. harzianum + T. virens dan tiga dosis Trichoderma: 1; 2 dan 4 g/l serta dua kontrol, kontrol positif (diinokulasi patogen) dan kontrol negatif (tidak diinokulasi patogen). Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (mm), lebar daun (mm), jumlah daun, kejadian penyakit dan keparahan penyakit bibit kakao setelah diinokulasi P. palmivora pada 3 minggu setelah tanam dan diperlakukan dengan Trichoderma yang ditambahkan pada kompos. Pengamatan dilakukan hingga 7 minggu setelah tanam. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf uji 5 %. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penambahan T. harzianum, T. virens maupun T. harzianum + T. virens pada kompos limbah kakao efektif digunakan untuk menekan perkembangan P. palmivora pada bibit kakao dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhannya. Tingkat keparahan penyakit bibit kakao terendah diperoleh pada dosis 2 g/l campuran T. harzianum + T. virens yaitu sebesar 10,30 %.
