Dengan judul Disertasi: Bioekologi dan Genetika Ikan Naleh, Barbonymus Gonionotus (Pisces Cyprinidae) di Perairan Nagan Raya, Provinsi Aceh. Agung lahir di Kuala Simpang pada 30 September 1990. Ia lulus di SD Negeri 2 Sriwijaya, Aceh Tamiang pada tahun 2003, lalu lulus SMP Negeri 2 Sriwijaya tahun 2006. Agung kemudian melanjutkan sekolahnya di SUPM Negeri Ladong, Aceh Besar tahun 2009.
