Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) tes ketuntasan belajar siswa, 2) observasi kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran, 3) observasi aktivitas siswa. The data used for the work was generated at the National Metallurgical Development Centre, Jos Foundry shop, where the composite was developed. The composite was developed using the stir cast method. The result of the work has shown that the composite has a response to age hardening heat treatment with the optimum hardness value occurring at 2 hours of age hardening. A model was developed for the relationship between age hardening time and hardness of the composite. It was tested, and the product moment of correlation and the coefficient of correlation values attested to the degree of correlation existing between the two variables. Berdasarkan pengamatan awal tentang nilai siswa di SMA N 4 Banda Aceh ternyata ada sebagian siswa yang nilai semesternya tinggi tetapi nilai ujian akhir nasionalnya rendah dan sebaliknya, sehingga muncul masalah apakah nilai semester siswa terdapat korelasi yang positif dengan nilai ujian akhir nasionalnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan atau korelasi antara nilai semester dengan nilai ujian akhir nasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, dimana peneliti mengambil data nilai raport semester dan nilai ujian akhir nasional pada mata pelajaran fisika kelas XII-IA SMA N 4 Banda Aceh tahun ajaran 2011/2012. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, tidak terdapat korelasi atau hubungan yang signifikan antara nilai ujian semester dengan nilai ujian akhir nasional. Hasil tersebut diperoleh dari perhitungan regresi linear dan korelasi. Ini terjadi bukan dengan sendirinya tetapi karena ada penyebab atau faktor yang mempengaruhinya baik itu faktor internal maupun faktor eksternal. This research belongs to quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design factorial 2x2. The research variables consist of independents variable A & B, the former is the integration strategy of PBL + Jigsaw and conventional learning strategy and the latest is low and high academic ability. While the dependent variable is understanding of concept. The research population is the new students of four study programs: Biology, Biology Education, Chemistry, and Chemistry Education in the faculty of Math and Science UNM in academic years 2011/2012. Two classes were selected as the research samples, Chemistry Education (N=36) as the experimental class, and Biology class (N=30) as a control class (using conventional strategy). On those two classes, the students with high and low academic ability are selected based on the result of grouping test. The instrument used is essay test on Fundamental Biology course. The research data were collected by giving test before and after treatment then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Anacova is used to test the hypothesis of differences. The research result shows that (1) the strategy of learning has an influence on the concept understanding of the students so that the integration strategy of PBL+Jigsaw has more potency to improve concept understanding of the students rather than conventional one, (2) There is no differences of understanding of concepts on high and low academic ability, (3) there is no influence of interaction between the learning strategy with academic ability toward concept understanding. Penelitian yang menggunakan tomat cv. ‘Revolution’ ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium Pascapanen Hortikultura milik ‘School of Agronomy and Horticulture’ The University of Queensland, Australia. Perlakuan terdiri atas 4 tingkat kamatangan buah yaitu hijau-kuning (‘turning’), oranye (‘pink’), merah muda (‘light-red’) dan merah (‘red’) dan 3 tingkat suhu simpan yaitu suhu 0, 5 dan 100C. Buah tomat dikerat dengan alat ‘slicing machine’. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa irisan tomat dari buah hijau-kuning menunjukkan laju produksi etilen dan tingkat respirasi yang lebih tinggi, kebocoran elektrolit yang lebih rendah, kandungan asam askobik dan likopen yang lebih rendah daripada irisan tomat dari buah berwarna merah.
