Faktor yang menyebabkan obesitas adalah berlebihnya konsumsi makanan siap saji, kurangnya aktivitas fisik, budaya, industri, dan faktor genetik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dan konsumsi makanan siap saji dengan obesitas pada anak sekolah dasar umur 10-12 tahun di Kecamatan Baiturrahman Banda Aceh Tahun 2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 9-21 Februari 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner Physical Activity Questionnaire of Children (PAQ-C), Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) dan tabel standar IMT/U Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 78 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 78 responden ditemukan 12 responden (15,4%) obesitas, 14 responden (17,9%) gemuk, 49 responden (62,8%) normal, dan 3 responden (3,8%) kurus. Responden dengan aktivitas fisik tingkat ringan sejumlah 33 orang diantaranya mengalami obesitas sebanyak 9 orang (27,3%) dan gemuk sebanyak 9 orang (27,3%). Responden dengan konsumsi makanan siap saji tingkat sering sejumlah 25 orang diantaranya mengalami obesitas sebanyak 8 orang (32%) dan gemuk sebanyak 5 orang (20%). Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square (?=0,05) menunjukkan terdapatnya hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dengan kejadian obesitas (p value = 0,003) dan terdapatnya hubungan antara konsumsi makanan siap saji dengan kejadian obesitas (p value = 0,008) pada anak sekolah dasar umur 10-12 tahun di Kecamatan Baiturrahman Banda Aceh Tahun 2015. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pengambilan data secara sampel dengan cara Purposive Random Sampling. Penelitian ini menetapakan 80 responden dari peternak di empat kecamatan, dan 10 responden dari pemotong hewan atau pedagang daging di empat kecamatan untuk menjawab kuesioner yang telah disediakan. Dari hasil kajian diperoleh, populasi sapi potong; perbandingan persentase antara sapi jantan dan betina yaitu 35 persen berbanding 65 persen. Sistem pemeliharaan; 76 persen peternak menggunakan sistem semi intensif, selebihnya peternak menggunakan sistem ekstensif dan intensif. Sistem pengadaan bibit dan sistem perkawinan; 92 persen peternak memperoleh bibit dari induknya, sementara itu peternak yang menerapkan sistem perkawinan secara alami yaitu sebanyak 91 persen, hanya 1 persen peternak yang menerapkan kawin buatan (Inseminasi Buatan). Jumlah pemotongan; jumlah pemotongan sapi yaitu sebanyak 6.136 ekor sapi setiap tahunnya. Asal sapi yang diperoleh; sebanyak 100 persen sapi diperoleh dari dalam daerah ketika pemotongan pada hari biasa, 20 persen sapi didatangkan dari luar daerah ketika hari peukan serta 80 persen sapi didatangkan dari luar daerah ketika hari besar Islam (meugang). Konsumsi daging sapi; produksi daging sapi yaitu sebanyak 528 ton per tahunnya, sementara itu kebutuhan konsumsi daging yaitu 834 ton per tahun, artinya Kabupaten Pidie masih kekurangan sebanyak 306 ton daging sapi setiap tahunnya.
