<text>The response of local meat chicken growth to supplementation of isolated grain protein and the difference in ration protein levelABSTRACT. A research which aims to determine the response of local meat chicken growth of protein supplementation with Isolation Grains Protein (IGB) and the difference in ration protein level has been conducted in the Laboratory of Experimental Farm, Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University-Darussalam, Banda Aceh for 90 days. This study used a completely randomized design factorial with 2 factors, consisting of factors namely male gender (JJ) and female (JB) and the ration is a combination of factors and levels IGB in the ration, ie: treatment A: 17% protein and 0.4% IGB; treatment B 19% protein and 0.6% IGB and treatment C 21% protein and 0.8% IGB. Each combination consisted of 4 replications and each replication consists of 5 chickens. Parameters observed in the study were weight gain, achievement of final weight, consumption, conversion and efficiency of ration. DOC used a derivative result of selection of local meat chicken which are in the process of selection. Data acquired and processed by ANOVA.The results showed that supplementation of IGB and ration protein level difference was significantly effect (P <0.01) on weight gain, final weight, rate of consumption, conversion efficiency of rations and rations, but there is no interaction effect between sex and ration factors . The highest weight gain obtained in the male local chicken achieved by feeding a ration B (93.23 grams), while the hen rations achieved by providing treatment C (63.86 grams / week). The highest final body weight of male chicken on treatment B (1491.5 gram/90 days) and hens in treatment C (1061.5 gram/90 days). However, the highest ration consumption in both male and female local chickens obtained from the ration A. Feed conversion value and the best feed efficiency obtained in treatment B for the treatment of male and C for female chicken. The study concluded that there were different responses between male and female local chickens of the use of IGB in the rations. In male local chicken, IGB is more effective when added in the ration with a protein level of 19% whereas in female at the protein level of 21%.</text>

<text>Ideal protein (amino acids) concept focused on broiler ABSTRACT. Accurate estimation of the amino acid requirement is very importance for diet formulation in growing animals such as broiler. Inadequate formulation of dietary amino acids will impair protein utilization and increase the total nitrogen output to the environment. Amino acids requirement of animals changes due to dietary, sex, and genetic and environmental factors. To address all potential combinations of factors with dose-response experiments is almost impossible. Thus the ideal protein concept provides a simple and effective approach to solve this problem. Based on this concept, the requirement of indispensible amino acids can be determined. For this concept, lysine has been used as the reference amino acid to calculate other indispensable amino acids due to several considerations. This paper will review more detailed about protein concept based on amino acid profile by using broiler as sampel review.</text>

The present study was conducted to determine the effect of Noni (Morinda citrifolia) fruit juice in drinking water on male broiler chicken performance. The study used 100 male broiler chicken at 3 days of age strain Platinum MB 202 produced by PT. Multi Breeder Adhirama Indonesia (Grup PT Jafpa Comfeed Indonesia) Bandar Lampung. The study was assigned into The Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Chicken were housed in 20 unit colony cages in size 100 x 50 x 50 cm each. The treatments were level of noni fruit juice in drinking water; R0 (control, chicken were not drunk noni fruit juice), R1 (chicken drank water contained 2,5% noni fruit juice), R2 (chicken drank water contained 5% noni fruit juice), R3 (chicken drank water contained 7,5% noni fruit juice) and R4 (chicken drank water contained 10% noni fruit juice). Chicken fed similar ration containing 23.58% crude protein and 3943 kkal/kg gross energy. The selected noni fruit were mature fruit or has color white yellowish. Ration and drinking water were offered ad libitum. During the experiment, chicken were vaccinated only by Vaccine ND on 4 days of age. Chicken were kept for 4 weeks. Parameters measured were feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. Collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance and significant effect on the parameters were tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. Result of this study showed that there was not significant (P>0,05) effect noni fruit juice in drinking water on feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. It is concluded that noni fruit juice could be mixed into the drinking water of broiler chicken up to 10%.</text>

<text>The effect of reduction of maize as starch source on flow rate of pellet in continuous production processABSTRACT. This experience was conducted to determine effect of reduction of maize as starch source on flow rate of pellet in continuous production process. Design of the experiment used was a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replicates. The data is analyzed by using of ANOVA and if there is a significance among treatments would tested using by contrast orthogonal. The variables observed were angle of repose, loose bulk density, compacted bulk density, and flow rate. The results showed that the reduction of maize as starch source did not give the significant effect on the variable that observed. The analyzed angle of repose showed variation 24.200 to 25.690, loose bulk density showed variation 621.6kg/m3 to 658kg/m3, compacted bulk density showed variation 668.3kg/m3 to 676.8kg/m3, and flow rate showed variation 449.69kg/minute to 491.41kg/minute. Based on the result that the reduction of maize as starch source (corn, sorghum, menir) did not give the significant effect on flow rate of pellet and the pellet treatment with menir has the fastest pellet production time so flowability pellet from pelleter to material hadling (bucket elevator) machine is faster. As higher the values of flow rate, so the time of material movement from bin to the package is shorter.</text>

<text>Effect of coffee waste as component of compiler ration peking duck in the form of wafer complete rationABSTRACT. Coffee waste is a by-product of coffee processing that potential to be used as feed stuff for peking duck. The weakness of this coffee waste, among others, is perishable, voluminous (bulky) and the availability was fluctuated so the processing technology is needed to make this vegetable waste to be durable, easy to stored and to be given to livestock. To solve this problem vegetable waste could be formed as wafer. This research was conducted to study effectiveness of coffee waste as component of compiler ration peking duck in the form of wafer complete ration This experiment was run in completely randomized design which consist of 4 feed treatment and 3 replications. Ration used was consisted of P0 = wafer complete ration 0% coffee waste (control), P1 = wafer complete ration 2,5% coffee waste, P2 = wafer complete ration 5% coffee waste, and P3 = Wafer complete ration 7,5% coffee waste. The Variables observed were: physical characteristic (aroma, color, and wafer density) and palatability of wafer complete ration. Data collected was analyzed with ANOVA and Duncan Range Test would be used if the result was significantly different. The result showed that the density of wafer complete ration coffee waste was significantly (P< 0.05) differences between of treatment. Mean density wafer complete ration equal to: P0= 0,52±0,03, P1 =0,67±0,04, P2 =0,72±0,03, and P3 = 0,76±0.05 g/cm3. Wafer complete ration coffee waste palatability was significantly (P< 0.05) differences between of treatment. It is concluded that of wafer complete ration composition 5 and 7,5% coffee waste was significantly wafer palatability and gave a highest wafer density. The ration P0 was the most palatable compare to other treatments for the experimental peking duck.</text>

<text>Effect of Supplementation of ENERVON-C and SANTA-e in Feed on Sperm Motility of Local CocksABSTRACT. This study aimed to observe the effect of supplementation of ENERVON-C and SANTA-e in feed on sperm motility of local cocks. The research was conducted at Reproduction Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. The research used 12 local cocks divided into 4 treatment groups : P0 (feed of 521), P1 (feed of 521 + 200 mg ENERVON-C/kg of feed), P2 (feed of 521 + 200 mg SANTA-e/kg feed) and P3 (feed of 521 + 100 mg ENERVON-C/kg of feed and 100 mg SANTA-e/kg of feed). During the research, all cocks were given 100 g of 521 feed/day. Feed with ENERVON-C and SANTA-e was given for 2 weeks before semen collections. Drink was given ad libitum. Data were analysed with analysis of variance and if there are effects among the treatments, analysis will be continued with Duncan Test. Results shows that supplementation of ENERVON-C or SANTA-e and their combination in feed can increase the percentage of sperm motility. There are significant differences (p<0,05) between control and treatment groups. To sum up, supplementation of ENERVON-C or SANTA-e in feed can improve the quality of sperm (motility) of local cocks. The sperm quality is better after giving of ENERVON-C and SANTA-e together than single supplementation.</text>

<text>Performance of broilers fed diets containing potassium diformate to replace flavomycinABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to study the effect of potassium-diformate (PD) on broiler performance. One hundred and twenty old chicks of Cobb strain were divided into fifteen groups and feed one of five treatments, namely: P1 (control diet), P2 (P1 + 0,5%PD), P3(P1 + 1%PD), P4 (P1 + 1,5%PD) and P5 (P1 + antibiotic). Data from Completely Randomized Design were analyzed by ANOVA and any significant among them were used contrast orthogonal test. Treatments did not impact on feed consumption, mortality and percentage of viscera, but the groups treated with 1 and 1.5% PD and flavomicyne antibiotic had significant improvement on body weight gain (P<0.169) and feed efficiency (P<0.05). It is concluded that addition of 1-1.5% potassium-diformate in the broiler’s diet could improve feed efficiency and replace flavomycine antibiotic as growth promotors without influencing the performance of viscera. </text>

<text>(Use of Fermented Pineapple Peel in the Ration Containing Medicinal Weeds on Fat and Cholesterol of Broiler Chicken) ABSTRACT. The objective of the experiment was to determine the effect of using fermented pineapple peel in the ration containing medicinal weeds on fat and cholesterol broiler chicken. The experiment was designed into completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. Treatments consisted of P0 = 0% of fermented pineapple peels meal (FPPM) in ration containing 0% medicinal weed (MW), positive control). P1 = 0% of fermented pineapple peels meal (FPPM) in the ration containing 2 % medicinal weed (MW), negative control). P2 = 7,5% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. P3 = 15% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. P4 = 22,5% of FPPM in the ration containing P1. Two hundred 2 days old male broiler chicken were used in this study and kept for 42 days. The parameters were feed consumption, liver weight, bile volume, meat fat level, and meat and blood cholesterol. The observed data were analyzed by Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS 16.0) and significant effect among treatments were tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results of thus study showed that the treatments were significant effect (P <0.05) on feed consumption, meat fat of thigh. but were not significant effect (P> 0.05) on liver weight, bile volume, meat fat level and meat and blood cholesterol. It is concluded that use of fermented pineapple peel in the ration improved fat and cholesterol on broiler chicken.</text>

<text>(Nutritive value of dadih added with yeast of dadih origin)ABSTRACT. Dadih is traditionally fermented buffalo milk product which is along with lactic acid bacteria (LAB), a diversity of yeast species involved in fermentation process. The existence of yeast in dadih gives positive contribution either in aroma or their role in securing a good product. There were three different dadih origin yeasts involved in this experiment (Candida curiosa, Brettanomyces custersii and Kluyveromyces lactis.) The objective of this research is to study more about growth and yeasts role on dadih fermentation in order to find positive value of yeast to keep nutritive value of dadih. Completely Randomized Designed used with four treatments. The treatments given was percentage of combined yeast culture which were P0 (buffalo milk + LAB), P1 (buffalo milk + LAB + 0,5% yeast culture), P2 (buffalo milk + LAB + 1,0% yeast culture), and P3 (buffalo milk + LAB + 1,5% yeast culture), by seven replication. The difference effect between treatment was tested by using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The Results showed that addition of yeast culture in dadih effect the pH, total of microorganism, degree of lactic acid, protein and dadih fat significantly. Overall dadih added with 1% yeast culture (P2) increase 14% degree of protein and decrease 2,7% degree of dadih fat.</text>
