The aim of this research was to study the ability of bacteriocin (amylocin) produced by Indonesian isolate of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) (Lactobacillus amylovorus US 121) and its combination with nisin in pasteurized milk. The total bacteria was measured by plate count method. The antimicrobial activity of amylosin at 64 AU/ml had the same activity with nisin at 625 AU/ml and its combination between amylosin and nisin at 32 AU/ml and 312,5 AU/ml respectively against psychrotrophic, thermoduric bacteria and L. monocytogenes in pasteurized milk. However, combination of amylosin and nisin (32 AU/ml + 312,5 AU/ml) able to reduce S. aureus in pasteurized milk. Amylosin at 64 AU/ml kept the shelf life of pasteurized milk longer until 12 days at 10oC. The addition of amylosin (the precipitate resulted by ammonium sulfate precipitation at 70% w/v) changed the color of pasteurized milk be brownish white. Gunung Walat Education Forest (HPGW) is one of special forest which integrated with farm system (Agrosilvopastural). This forest is heterogeneous which dominated with agathis, damar and pinus trees. To support the farming system is needed basic data haematology and blood profil of sheep that lived in HPGW. This research was aimed to evaluate haematological values covering Red Blood Cell, haemoglobin, Packed Cell Volume, MCV, MCH, MCHC and blood nutrient profil of lambs and ewes fed with mixed grass which is grow surrounding HPGW. Evaluation were done on 5 productive ewes and 5 male lambs 5-6 month ages, before and after eating time. The result showed that RBC of the lamb was (7.57 0.40) x 106/mm3 and for ewes was (5.71 0.05) x 106/mm3. Hb of lamb was (7.21 0.27) g/100ml and for ewes was (6.62 0.54) g/100ml, PCV of lamb was (28.10 7.21) % and ewes was (26.80 3.42) %, MCV of lamb was (32.68 1,23) fl and ewes was (50.91 1.53) fl, MCH of lamb was (10.82 0.47) pg and ewes was (12.93 0.29) pg, MCHC of lamb was (27,53 4.70)% and for ewes was (25.54 1.57) %. There were no significant difference on haematological values before and after feeding time except for Packed Cell Volume (P< 0.05). The clinical result showed that lambs was suffering normocytic hypochromic anaemia and adults was suffering macrocytic hypochromic anaemia. The aimed of this experiment to study the supplementation of urea molasses block for performance increased of ettawah crossbred goats fed diet containing Gliricidia spium green forage has been conducted at Tabanan regency and Animal Nutrition Laboratory. The Latin Square Design which four treatments and four replicates was used in this experiment. The four treatments were the levels of urea molasses block : 0, 50, 100 and 150g respectively. The animal access to ad libitum Gliricidia spium green forage and drink water. The animal fed twice a day urea molasses block at the morning and at the afternoon. The variables which were observed including feed consumption, nutrient digestibility, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The result of this experiment showed dry matter feed consumption, drink water, nutrient digestibility of the four treatments is not significantly different (P >0.05). The body weight gain at treatment C was significantly higher (P <0.05), but feed conversion ratio (FCR) was significantly lower (P <0.05) than treatments A, B and D. From the results in this experiment it can be concluded that the used of urea molasses block 100g on the effect to increased the performance of ettawah crossbred goats with basal diet Gliricidia spium green forage. A study has been done to find the influence of urea molasses mineral block (UMB) on cattle. The cattle those used in the research were public cattle. The cattle applied were 12 females at the age of 12-18 months which showed mineral deficiency symptoms, and the laboratory analysis result showed that they were lack to one or more mineral element of Ca, Cu, Mg, or P in their serum. UMB was provided to the cattle in the cage all day long (ad libitum) during 3 months. Keeping of the cattle was done in the following pattern: in the evening (18.00p.m - 11.00a.m) cattle were penned, and between 11.00a.m - 18.00p.m were discharged freely in rice field, grassland, or garden, therefore they could foraging around. Blood sample was taken immediately before research was started, which was counted as day 0. It followed with day 42nd, and day 84th. The result study indicates that giving of UMB have no effect on mineral level of Ca, Cu, and Mg in the serum. However, it causes increasing the P level. The objective of the research was to evaluate and characterize of a Lactic Acid Bacteria isolated frombroiler’s small intestine. The research was done by three steps : (1) Isolated Lactic Acid Bacteria, (2) Gram colourize and microscopic observation and (3) Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria. The isolation of lactic acid bacteria was proceed by clone from broiler’s small intestine with MRS Broth for 24 hours, thinned until 10 ̄ 9with serial number, invested in MRS jell, purify by streak plate method and storage the lactic acid bacteria in an MRS angle jell. Gram colourize was done with crystal violet liquid, Iodium, Alkohol 95% and  Safranin, and also microscopic observation was done by electron microscope with 40 zooming. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria was evaluated with  Escherichia coli as testing bacteria in 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24 dan 48 hours incubation period. The isolation result showed two sample of isolate (A1 dan A2) and consist of the observation in shape as well as colour of the bacteria growth, for sample of isolate A1 the colonies had coccus  and white colour. The isolate of A2 had sarcinar. After that, gram colouring was done and microscopic observation were identified into gram-negative bacteria became bacill and bacill cocco. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria showed that it produced antimicrobial with 11 mm clearing zone diameter. The experiment was conducted to determine the effect of Squilla empusa fermentation as fish meal substitute in diet layer on cholesterol and omega-9 fatty acid yolk eggs. This research was conducted by completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatment and 5 replications. The treatments are P0 = 0% fermented Squilla empusa + 15% fish meal; P1 = 5% fermented Squilla empusa + 10% fish meal; P2 = 10% fermented Squilla empusa + 15% fish meal; and P3 = 15% fermented Squilla empusa + 0% fish meal. Cholesterol, Omega-9 fatty acid yolk eggs responding variables measured. The results of this study shows that the yolk cholesterol and omega - 9 was non significant (P<0.05). Average of yolk cholesterol (ppm) and omega - 9 (gram) for P0; P1; P2; and P3 were 7.622; 9.200; 9.198; and 9.442; and omega – 9 fatty acid yolk (%) were 18.404; 17.520; 19.230 and 19.456 respectively. Conclusion of this study (i) there are possibility using fermented Squilla empusa until 15% as fish meal substitute in diet of layers, (ii) there are good effect on eggs quality in term of cholesterol and Omega – 9 fatty yolk. Fish waste (head, viscera and tails) which ensilage with saccharomyces sp and lactobacillus sp, had a high quality and protein content of about 53,18 ± 0,83% and a good aroma. An experiment have been conducted by experimental method with in sacco trial and in vivo trial. The treatment tested were 4 kind of protein source : (1) fish waste silages mixed with tapioca ; (2) fish waste silages mixed with rice bran ; (3) soy bean kernels and (4) fish meal. The in sacco trial was carried out on 3 fistulated cows, to study the rate of protein degradability in the rumen. The in vivo trial was carried out by Completely Randomized Design on 16 heads of fat tail rams. The variable measured were: rumen fermentation product (VFA and N-NH3); energy and protein digestibility; daily body weight gain of the rams. The experiment showed, that the source of protein use have no significantly effect upon VFA both on the VFA total and individual VFA (acetate, propionate and butyrate). The highest propionate reach by soya bean kernels (P < 0.01). Based on the all variables measured, it was indicated the silage of fish waste can be used to substituted of soya bean kernels or fish meal in the ration of sheep. Data were collected from 20 beef cattle farmer groups located in Cilacap, Banyumas, Banjarnegara and Kebumen regencies. Intervension factors such as improved production system including aspects of institutional, banking access, diversification of business, trading, and development programs. Regular reporting, interviews, field observations, and forum group discussion were implemented. Descriptive analysis was applied in this study. Variables focused on livestock production systems improvement, type and performance of development program, social resource potential and group dynamics, productivity levels, and also proposed program and recommendations of action programs. This study revealed that 10% of beef cattle farmer group implementing fattening cattle, and mostly (90%) applying combination of cow-calf operation and fattening. All of the beef cattle farmer group (100%) had a high score of social resources potential, while the group dynamics tend to stable (60%) and increased (40%). Mean of reproduction performance were 2.4 (S/C), 13.7 month (calving interval), and 76.5% (pregnancy rate). In general, BCS ranging from 4 to 7 with the highest score of 6 (45%) and followed by 7 (40%).
