Ten intestines were obtained from wet market in Banda Aceh then measured in length and divided into three sections: duodenum, jejunum and ileum, of which histologicslides were made. The number of Ascaridia galli founded in the lumen and ingesta were counted. Parameter picture of histopathologycal changes were analized descriptively based on desquamation, hiperplasia, and villi fussion occure. Duodenum, jejunum and ileum infected by A. galli showed istopathological changes of villi the cover of desquamation, hyperplasia and fusion. Demage level of the small intestine chicken was largely determined by the number of infecting by A. galli. It was concluded that the more number of A galli infected to chickens, the higher level of damage would be occured in the small intestine of chicken</text>

<text>The simulation of Bay of Bengal (included Andaman Sea) has been done. This investigation used equation of motion (Navier-Stokes equation).  The equation of motion was solved by means of Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). The analysis is done for the year of 2007. The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) data for year of 2007 is used to force the Bay of Bengal.  The sea surface temperature (SST) and sea surface salinity (SSS) have been obtained and analyzed. The highest SST occurs in April 2007, while the lowest SST occurs in October 2007. The pattern of SST depends on the wind vector. From January untill June 2007, the SSS pattern is a west-east pattern. The SSS value is lower in the east and higher in the west. From July untill December, the higher value of SSS is generally in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. Generally, the value of SSS is higher in July and August, while in December and January the value of SSS is lower. Some results have been compared and consistent with the study of Vinayachandran dan Kurian (2008) and Vinayachandran and Yamagata (1998).</text>

<text>Study on CO2 fixation for the growth of oil-produced green microalgae by cultivating the algae in illuminated glass containers was conducted. Green algae were isolated from some water pond samples around Banda Aceh. The samples contain mixed biomasses. The types of microalgae, as the results of the isolation was identified, and then cultivated in the CO2 bubbled containers. The algae growth and oil yield were observed under different mediums (modified Detmer and modified CHU-13) and illumination (2 x 8 watts and 4 x 8 watts). Tanjong Selamat samples were used throughout this research based on initial screening stage. The two medium used led to different growths of the algae; the Detmer medium giving higher growth rate. Faster growth rates were found for cultivation using modified Detmer medium and 4 x 8 watts illumination. The oil yield was determined by solvent extraction method. Oil yield using the CHU-13 medium was 88.5%, much higher than the yield of Detmer medium sample 55.4%. It shows the potential use of local green microalgae to produce alternative bio-oil.</text>

<text>The article reported the preparation and modification of hydrophobicpolyethersulfone (PES) by blending the solution with hydrophilic additives Tetronic 304, Tetronic 704, Tetronic 1307, and Tetronic 908. Polymeric porous membranes are generally prepared by the phase separation of polymer solution. In this work, we prepared hollow fibre membrane by non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS). Effect of molecular weight of surfactant added on the performance and characteristic of fabricated membrane were investigated. The control PES membrane has the highest contact angle, indicating thelowest hydrophilic. With addition of surfactant Tetronic in the polymer blend hollow fibre membrane, the water contact angle decreased indicates that the membrane surface is more hydrophilic. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images for all of the membrane showed the structure of fibre with finger-like macro voids through the cross-section. The sponge-type of structure in the centre path of original membrane was disappearing with addition of Tetronic. Ultrafiltration experiment results showed that water permeability washighest with addition of Tetronic with lowest molecular weight. According to thecharacteristics of resulting membrane such as hydrophilicity, ultrafiltration performance, and pores structure, surfactant Tetronic was a good additive to produce hydrophilic membrane for drinking water application</text>

The study also examines the link between altitude grow with the content of asiaticoside of Centella asiatica. Domestication research include: exploration and collection. This activity is carried out to collect Centella asiatica from different geographic locations with different altitudes. Later examination asiaticoside levels in the leaves of Centella asiatica by HPLC method and phytochemical test. Analysis of soil at all growing places were also conducted. The highest content of asiaticoside in accessions of Centella asiatica tested is as follows accession Deli Serdang (2.38%), Kabanjahe (1.43%), Medan (1.38%), Berastagi (1.38%), Samosir with shade (0.28%) and accession Samosir (0.24%). Altitude does not affect the content of asiaticoside Centella asiatica because in this study obtained the highest asiaticoside content found on lowland accessions namely (± 4 m asl), namely accession Pantai Labu  Deli Serdang (2.38%).</text>

<text>The mud crab (Scylla) is a commercially important crustacean, as there is a large demand in many Southeast Asian countries. Currently, one of the main bottlenecks to the expansion of Scylla aquaculture is the inconsistent and low production of hatchery juveniles. One major challenge to overcome at the hatchery level is disease issues caused by bacteria. The use of probiotics to outcompete pathogenic bacteria is being tested in the industry as a better disease prevention method in Scylla aquaculture compared to antibiotics, and is getting more recognition in aquaculture to reduce bacterial issues. The current review discusses mudcrab farming activities in Malaysia and the scope for using probiotics in Scylla aquaculture, as this is a potential way to increase survival rates in a long term sustainable way.</text>

<text>A small infectious micro-organism that able to replicate only inside the living cells is named as viruses, which are also the most abundant life form on the earth. These subcellular organisms can be classified into four groups ; animal, plant, archaea and bacteria viruses. Among them, bacteria viruses or also known as bacteriophages have the highest numbers with the  total estimation of 1031 .  The fact is that, until today only ~ 6,000 types of phages have been discovered since 1959 (ICTV report, 2011). Therefore, there are lots of new phages waiting to be discovered. Partial genomic studies have been conducted on a potential new bacteriophage isolated from goat faeces. Thus, to fulfil the objective of this study genomic characterization was carried out to discover more genomic details in order to reveal the true identity of the newly isolated phage . As first part of the analysis, phage genome was extracted to identify the phage's genome type and to estimate the genome size. Along with that, the extracted genome was used to proceed with the genome profiling and also for  partial genome sequencing analysis. Based on the genomic analysis, the results showed the isolated phage carries DNA as it genetic material with the size of genome around 30-40kbp. Besides that, this phage produced different genomic profile in comparison with other known phages such as Lambda, T4 and T7 phages when digest with the same restriction enzymes. Besides that, based on partial genome sequencing and results run against NCBI database, this newly isolated phage might be related with another newly isolated phage known as Sodalis phage SO-1. As far as the genomic data collected, an assumption can be made that this isolated phage could be a new addition to the list of viruses in International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) database.</text>

<text>Portfolio selection problem was first formulated in a paper written by Markowitz, where investment diversification can be translated into computing. Mean-variance model he introduced has been used and developed because of it’s limitations in the larger constraints found in the real world, as well as it’scomputational complexity which found when it used in large-scale portfolio. Quadratic programming model complexity given by Markowitz has been overcome with the development of the algorithm research. Theyintroduce a linear risk function which solve the portfolio selection problem with real constraints, i.e. minimum transaction lots. With the Mixed Integer Linear models, proposed a new heuristic algorithm that starts from the solution of the relaxation problems which allow finding close-to-optimal solutions. This algorithm is built on Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) which formulated using nearest integer search method.</text>
