<text>Due to increasing demand of petroleum and limited source of fossil fuel, it isneeded to explore and find source of a renewable energy. The biomass from agricultural residues, forest and farm waste has been known as a great source of energy and can be converted into biogas, bioethanol, biodiesel, etc. Reed which is abundant in Indonesia is one of potential sources of lignocellulose biomass that can be utilized as (Imperata cylindrica) a source of renewable energy such as bioethanol. The aim of this study was to optimize yield of glucose from reed using cellulose enzyme. Factors used in this research werepH and substrate particle size. Reed particle sizes were 80 and 100 mesh and pH of the solution were 4.2, 4.8 and 5.5. The results showedthat dried reedwith100 meshes in particle size which hydrolysed in enzyme solution with pH 5.5 at 37oC for 72 hours, producedthe highest yield of glucose in the amount of 80.2 mg/ml (8.02 %). When the incubation time was extended, glucose yield increased to 121.8 mg/ml (12.1%) at 96 hours and then decreased as the incubation time was extended further</text>

<text>Communal forests in Indonesia, especially in the form of agroforestry commonly undeveloped and almost in traditional management. In Koto Malintang, West Sumatra agroforestry practice known as ‘parak’ has existed since decades ago. This study aims to determine the importance of tree tenure security in the ‘parak’ management for its sustainability in Koto Malintang, West Sumatra. The research uses descriptive method to identify the tree tenure security. To assess and describe patterns of tree control on communal land which refers to the Rapid appraisal of social forestry for land and tree tenure. Kedua menilai status jaminan hak-hak masyarakat pada penguasaan tanah dan penguasaan pohon dengan pendekatan terhadap hak-hak yang terdapat pada tanah dan pohon. The findings indicate lack of tree tenure security, especially for the purpose of selling the trees. Communal rights limit the freedom of timber use in an uncontrolled manner. But the communal rights maintain the system sustainability that is practiced as local institutional rules. For the income purposes, farmers tend to avoid planting timber-producing trees and prioritizing to quickly produce an annual crop. This is due to the limited of tenure security encourages reluctance of trees planting. Planting more trees is caused by timber interests. Planting trees is caused by the communal interest to the trees benefit for environmental sustainability.</text>

<text>Banda Aceh recently received Adiupaya Puritama award, an award given by the Housing Ministry for cities that have successfully manage its housing and settlement. While there is no doubt that Banda Aceh has made a good achievement in terms of providing housing for its residents, there is always a room for an evaluation of the previous and upcoming policy to improve and to develop a more effective housing policy. Similar to many cities in Indonesia, Banda Aceh experience massive urbanization although in a much smaller scale compare to Jakarta or Surabaya. This has been affected housing stocks in Banda Aceh, in particular the need for more affordable housing for low income residents, which were mostly provided during the tsunami reconstruction program. On the other hand, there is an intense plan to develop a vertical housing (Rusun) to fulfil the need for affordable housing for the public as the land price is increasing. This paper attempts to look at both available affordable housing stocks and upcoming plan of affordable housing for low income residents to support local authorities and other key players in delivering higher quality of affordable housing in Banda Aceh</text>

<text>The theory of biological rectification originated from the study of physiological processes of the human body. Biological processes are defined by certain structures; biological rectification is achieved by biological structures too. These rectifying biological structures are the biological rectifying valves, a definition adopted from physics. An extension of this notion leads to a generalization of the rectification phenomena in biological systems. The practical value of this theoretical concept is widely presumed. Here we show that the loss of rectification may result in dysfunction or even destruction of the biological system, the rectification implies the simplification of biological processes, reduce the utilization of energy in biological systhems and in general can help in understanding the processes in the human body and biology better. We hope that experts of different scientific fields will probably confirm or disprove this hypothesis. </text>

<text>Plagiarism is a very despicable act in the academic world that requires an active effort from Universities to prevent and to identify it at an early stage in order to maintain the reputation of the university. One easy way to quickly identify plagiarism is by the university proactively conducting a deep examination of papers written by members of their academic community before it is published. Nowadays, there are several anti-plagiarism software that can assist to quickly conduct these plagiarism examinations. However, because of these many choices of antiplagiarism software, even freely available software, sometime it is hard to choose the most suitable software to use. This paper report on the result from a study that compare several freely available anti-plagiarism software with the hope it can help universities on deciding which one to use. This study chose the top six highest ranked software that were produced from several search engine with the keyword "free anti plagiarism software", whichare: Plagiarisma.Net, Viper, The Plagiarism Checker, Dupli Checker, Plag Tracker and Small Seo Tools Plagiarism Checker. The study employed several important parameters in comparing these anti-plagiarism software, which are: accuracy, validation time, the diversity of format text, number of characters/words, ease of use, report, and security. Results from the study indicate that there is no one anti-plagiarism software that can meet all user needs, thus there is no one superior software for all categories but there are software that are superior for certain categories.</text>

<text>The objective of this study was to know the effect of biochar residue, compost and urea fertilization on growth and yield of maize.  The research was conducted at University Farm Ie Seum Research Station, Aceh Besar district, Aceh Province, Indonesia.  The experimental arranged in a randomized complate block non factorial design with four replications.  There were eight treatment combinations: P1 (without biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P2 (without biochar residue + without compost + urea), P3 (without biochar residue + compost + without urea), P4 (without biochar residue + compost + urea), P5 (biochar residue + without compost + without urea), P6 (biochar residue + without compost + urea), P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea), P8 (biochar residue + compost + urea).  Based on the plant growth, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on plant height age of 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, leaf number aged 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, stem diameter ages 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. At the P7 treatment (biochar residue + compost + without urea) gave the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested.  Based on plant yield, biochar residue, compost, and urea fertilizer treatment did not significantly affect on cornhusk ear length, cornhusk cob diameter, cornhusk cob weight, cob length without cornhusk, cob diameter without cornhusk, cob weight without cornhusk, and yield.  At P5 treatment (biochar residue + without compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and P7 (biochar residue + compost + without urea) cornhusk cobs and without cornhusk provide the best value but does not differ significantly with all treatments tested. </text>

<text>This paper presents the results obtained from the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to modelling the crosswind and steam addition effect on a turbulent non-premixed flame. A pre-processor software GAMBIT was employed to set up the configuration, discretisation, and boundary conditions of the flame being investigated.  The commercial software Fluent 6.3 was used to perform the calculations of flow and mixing fields as well as combustion. Standard k-ε and eddy dissipation models were selected as solvers for the representation of the turbulence and combustion, respectively.  The results of all calculations are presented in the forms of contour profiles.  During the investigation, the treatment was performed by setting a  velocity of fuel at 20 m/s with varied cross-wind velocity at  3.77 m/s, 7.5 m/s and 10 m/s,  and steam/fuel ratio at 0.14, 0.25 and 2.35.  The results of the investigation showed that the standard k-ε turbulence model in conjunction with Eddy Dissipation Model representing the combustion was capable of producing reliable phenomena of the flow field and reactive scalars field in the turbulent non-premixed flame being investigated. Other results of the investigation showed that increasing the velocity of the crosswind, when the fuel velocity was kept constant, significantly affected the flow field, temperature and species concentrations in the flare flame. On the other hand, when the velocity of the fuel was varied at the constant crosswind velocity, the increasing velocity of the fuel gave positive impact as it enabled to counteract the effect of crosswind on the flare flame. The velocity of the crosswind very influence of combustion efficiency, from result of the investigation showed that increasing the velocity of the crosswind significantly affected the combustion efficiency, other result of the inverstigation showed that steam addition will very influencing combustion, excelsior the steam/fuel ratio results the combustion efficiency decrease</text>

<text>The present research aimed to study the characteristics of frozen-thawed semen in beef bulls ex-import in Ungaran, Indonesia. 5 heads Simmental and 5 heads Limousin of 5.5 years old were used in this research. The research was done in Ungaran Artificial Insemination Center, Central Java, Indonesia and Laboratory of Reproduction and Obstetry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Frozen semen was obtained from this AI center. Results of the research indicated that the average individual motility of Simmental and Limousin is 39.00±5.48% and 36.00±2.24%. The average percentage of live spermatozoa is 54.00±10.75% for Simmental and 48.20±9.78% for Limousin while  the average proportion of abnormal spermatozoa is 9.60±3.36% and 6.80±4.15% for both Simmental and Limousin, respectively. On average, Simmental frozen-thawed semen have the higher mean proportion of sperm motility, live sperm, and abnormal sperm than that of Limousin frozen-thawed semen</text>
