<text>This cross sectional study aimed to determine oral health-related quality of life in pregnant women. A total of 100 pregnant women seen at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia participated in this study. The short version of the Malaysian Oral Health Impact Profile (S-OHIP(M)) questionnaire with five-point ordinal scale that ranges from ‘never’ to ‘very often’ was used to assess the frequency of oral impacts during the previous 12 months. The majority of the respondents were Malay (96.0%), with a mean age of 29.9 years (SD 5.78). The highest education level attained by most respondents was post-secondary qualification or Diploma (39.0%). Some had formal tertiary education (27.0%). The majority of them were income earners (74.0%) and contributed to the household income. Half of the respondents were in their third trimester of pregnancy while the remaining half was either in the first or second trimester. The severity of impact experienced by the women, which is the mean S-OHIP(M) score was high at 10.43 (95% CI = 8.96, 11.90). The prevalence of impact, which is the percentage of respondents reporting ‘fairly often’ or ‘very often’ to one or more impacts, was 36.0%. Common impacts experienced by the respondents include feeling uncomfortable because food got stuck in between teeth or dentures (22.0%), feeling that oral health problems had caused bad breath (13.0%), and feeling shy because of problems with teeth, mouth or dentures (9.0%). The results also demonstrated that neither the severity nor the prevalence of impact was influenced by the women’s socio-demographic background. This study concluded that pregnant women suffered from high impact of oral diseases that could affect their quality of life</text>

<text>Nowadays, the development of wireless communication systems will be refer to user cooperative communication system in which a source information can transmit data to a destination through a relay. This can reduce the effect of fading on wireless communication channel which is a major problem in wireless communication system that can degrade the system performance. In this paper, we investigate the performance of multi-relay cooperative communication using decode and forward protocol in terms of channel capacity, bit error rate (BER) and throughput.  The use of decode and forward protocol in multi-relay cooperative communication offers cooperation among users to generate virtual multiple antennas to increase the channel capacity and also can give better system performance. Furthermore, the simulation model of the system and computer simulation is developed to evaluate the performance of multi-relay cooperative communication. The simulation result shows that the channel capacity increases as the value of signal to noise ratio (SNR) increases. Also, the channel capacity increases as the number of relays increases. Moreover, the performance of multi-relay cooperative communication performs better than a single-relay cooperative communication by using decode and forward protocol in terms of BER. Furthermore, multi-relay cooperative communication provides a good throughput of the system compared to a single-relay. Therefore,  the multi-relay cooperative communication is useful to mitigate the effects of channel fading, increase the channel capacity, improve the system performance and provide a good throughput by exploiting decode and forward protocol.</text>

<text>The vitellogenin (Vtg) is a precursor for the synthesis of egg yolk protein. Feeding with zinc-supplemented diet is hypothesized to increase the circulating Vtg thereby enhancing reproductive development. A total of 80 ducks, aged 16 weeks old, were randomly assigned to treatment groups; namely: group A with 40 ducks fed with 30 ppm zinc-supplemented diet (zinc positive) and group B with 40 ducks fed with no added zinc (zinc negative). Thecirculating Vtg at sexual maturity (155.11±10.83 days old) were determined from the blood sera. The sera were assayed for Vtg in duplicate using 96–well microplate and read the optical density at 415nm. The zinc concentrationof the samples was calculated using the nonlinear regression =OD = a x [Zn2+] / (b + [Zn2+]. Results show that the circulating Vtg in the blood sera of ducks at sexual maturity were 0.69±0.07 Gg Zn dL-1. The feeding of zinc-treateddiet had no significant influenced on the concentration of circulating Vtg. There was also insignificant difference in the reproductive morphology of ducks fed with or without added zinc. The Vtg concentration had no correlation withreproductive parameters but found to be positively correlated with liver weight (H=0.21) and negatively correlated with body weight (H = -0.24).</text>

<text>Aura is an electromagnetic field located outside living things which has a number of vibrational energy waves in it. For human being, this vibrating energy waves are related to energy level of the mind, the individual’s emotion and physical. The measurement of this energy can be made indirectly usingbiomedical devices like biosensor instead of direct snapping by optical camera. The aura pattern of the individual involved can be monitored by video capturing of the output produced by the device. Since the subject’s feelings affect aura readings, his emotion will be put to a level as low as possible through a simplemeditation. The data however, will be captured even before meditation to see the changes in the aura pattern and to find if there is any convergence to a stable or a final stage aura. This is what we define as the pure or characteristic aura of the individual. The stable or pure aura might be a little different fromsession to session but within the statistically accepted range. A sample of 10 students regardless of gender had been taken their aura color and analyzed at solar plexus chakra. The personal details of them had also been taken. Some repeated and stable aura images had been observed. It is found that almost everyone has a stable aura regardless of how unstable his aura normally. In general, good students tend to have a more stable aura compared to those with lower academic performance</text>

<text>This paper presents the development of smart energy monitoring and control system for Renewable Energy Hybrid Power Generation System (REHPGS) using SCADA. REHPGS model consists of photovoltaic, wind and gen-set system. SCADA is used to monitor and control the operation of Hybrid Power System (HPS) in real time. This paper planned a concept of smart grid by VisconDua Remote Terminal Unit (RTU)-IO Module. The RTU is responsible to collect information from power HPS plant. SCADA Expert controller is introduced to automatically control renewable energy sources. The monitoring and control system of REHPGS operated in real time and can perform under various operating conditions. The HPS plant will be fully automated, which mean the power plant would rely on the SCADA system on all its operations. Results show that the proposed system has the capability to monitor and optimize the output power generation of REHPGS</text>

<text>A correlation between weedy species composition and 4 different planting practices in Peninsular Malaysia was being investigated from September 2011 – January 2012. Through this study, the noxious and competitive weed of rice were identified and counted, which should be helpful in developing a more sustainable weed control and management. This study was conducted at 24 different rice field covering four types of planting practices in Seberang Perai and MUDA area, namely wet seeding, water seeding, manual transplanting and mechanical transplanting method, using 0.5 x 0.5 m size quadrat with 20 samples for each field during rice at tillering to heading stage. A total of 27 weed species belonging to 14 families composing of 10 broadleaved, 8 grasses, 7 sedges and 2 submerged weed group were recorded. The dominance weeds species in four planting practices at both areas is Oryza sativa complex (weedy rice). Different dominance weed group observed in both areas due to different planting practices, such as in water seeding practice, broadleaved such Limnochoria flava and Monocharia vaginalis showed the highest I.V. for both areas, for wet seeding practice Echinochloa crus-galli and Leptochloa chinensis under grasses group have the highest I.V. and for manual and mechanical transplanting practice both have the same weed group which is Leptochloa chinensis. </text>

<text>After decades of global warming many are still in the dark as what needs to bedone to overcome this world threat that affects single citizen of the planet earth. The word ‘sustainability’ has been used very loosely, some not knowing the exact meaning of it only with intentions to gain research grant for the academics, profit making by keeping by the general business environment, thus leading to dumping the market with green-washing products. Those who seriously know the true meaning are not many and many times frustrated with the doings of the many which do not. This presentation hopefully providesome useful insights as to what sustainability means and for the necessary green initiatives that need to be taken to reduce further aggravation of the borderless geographical environment. Future growth in all countries are converging into a common trend and therefore efforts need to be in tandem and synchronized for a more effective win against this pervasive war of the world. Most tangible efforts are normally easily observed in the socio economic trend that affects the built environment of individual countries. The commoncues of the world are that it is getting hot, flat and crowded and to overcome this force is no easy task for any nation since the rhythm and tempo of growth of each nation differs. But one thing is common, that the rate of urbanization is rapid throughout the world. It was reported that by about 2030 the land-use for urbanization will be about 75% all over the world and so a relook at the socio economic policies must be geared towards how urbanization do not worsen the already bad situation from global warming.</text>

<text>Tofu is a very favorite food in Asian countries such Indonesia, and is gaining popularity among west countries as well, due to the associated health benefits and its acceptable price. Tofu which is produced by grinding of soy bean produces high of amount wastewater, and is considered as one of the most polluting food-industrial effluent due to its high values of organic pollutants. This paper analyzed  some pollutants parameter discharged from tofu industries in Banda Aceh. The parameter of BOD, COD, MLSS, PO4-P NH3-N, Turbidity and pH were analyzed based on the standard method for the examination of water and wastewater, approved by the EPA. The COD and BOD of wastewater from tofu processing facilities in Banda Aceh is ranging from 5000-8500 and 3500-4500 mg/L, respectively. Site investigation showed that in Banda aceh city, the tofu waste has been disposed into the environment without any treatment, causing bad odours and pollution of the surface, ground water and river</text>

<text>This study aimed to extract the active antioxidant compounds from curry leaves (Murayya koeniigi) and salam leaves (Eugenia polyantha) using three types of solvent; water, ethanol (50%) and hexane, and determine the total polyphenols contents, activity of free radicals scavenging using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) and ferric reducing power of the extract of those materials. The result showed that curry leaves extracted using water contain a higher amount of polyphenols than other solvent extracts, while for the salam leaves, ethanol (50%) extracts give a higher polyphenol content than others. Total polyphenols extracts had a positive correlation with antioxidant activity in both DPPH radical scavenging and ferric reducing power. Extracts that contain a high amount of polyphenols also exhibit high antioxidant activity. The result indicated that the polarity level of the solvent will determine extraction result and its antioxidant activity</text>
