The objective of the present survey was to map the potency of locations for developing of minapolitan area in Aceh province. The survey was conducted on November-December 2011 and it was focused on the four districts i.e. Aceh Jaya, Aceh Besar, Bireuen and Aceh Timur. The data were categorized into two types, i.e. secondary data which was compiled from annual reports, research report and other references. The primary data were collected throught direct and indirect interviewed the key persons in fisheries sector by using the questionnaire. Primary data were also obtained by direct observation in the fields. The results showed that every site has the advantages and disadvantages. However, generally all of the locations have potency to be developed as minapolitan region. Minapolitan models that can be developed are the combination between of capture fisheries, aquaculture, processing and marine tourism. The purpose of this study was to examine the Acriflavine doses and immersion time on the sex ratio and survival rate of Bagrid catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus. The completely randomized design of factorial was applied in this research (4x2) with 3 replications. The tested doses were 0 mg/L, 2.5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, and 7.5 mg/L and immersion times were 6 hours and 12 hours.  The Anova test showed that Acriflavine doses and immersion times were not influence significantly on survival rate and sex ratio of Hemibagrus nemurus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman terhadap keberhasilan pembentukan kelamin jantan dan sintasan benih ikan baung yang terbaik. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (4x2) dengan tiga kali ulangan. Variabel bebas yang diukur adalah kombinasi antara dosis akriflavin (0 mg/L, 2,5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, dan 7,5 mg/L) pada lama perendaman (6 jam dan 12 jam. Hasil uji Anova menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap sintasan dan rasio kelamin ikan baung. The study was conducted onApril to October 2013 in marine protected areas of Weh Island. The samplings were done at10 siteswhere 6 sitesare situatedinside of conservation areas, while 4 sites are situated outside of conservation areas. The purpose ofthis study was to evaluate coral covers andreef fish composition. Point intersept transect(PIT), underwater visual census (UVC) and fish catches were used to examine coral covers, abudance and biomass of reef fish. The results showed that average of coral covers, abudance and biomass of target fishes inside conservation were 54%, 1,662 ind/ha and 408.78 kh/ha, respectively, while than outside conservation was 33.05%, 1,058 ind/ha and 307.77 kg/ha, respectively. Total of reef fish species and the catch were increased from previous years, for example there are 60 species in 2010 and it was increased to 83 species in 2013. In addition the fishermen catches were increased slightly from 3.03 kg/trip in 2008 to 3.6 kg/trip in 2013. It is concluded that the coral condition and reef fish composition in the conservation are much better compared to outside of conservation areas.Keywords : Marine protect area; reef fish; Weh Island Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada April sampai Oktober 2013 di Kawasan Konservasi Perairan Pesisir Timur Pulau Weh yang terdiri dari 10 stasiun dimana 6 stasiun berada didalam kawasan konservasi dan 4 stasiun diluar kawasan konservasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai persentase tutupan karang dan komposisi ikan karang. Sampling menggunakan transek titik dan underwater visual sensus (UVC) dan hasil tangkapan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kondisi tutupan karang, kelimpahan dan biomassa ikan target dikawasan konservasi yaitu 54%, 1.662 ind/ha dan 408,78 kg/ha, secara berurutan, sedangkan diluar kawasan konservasi adalah 33,05%, 1.058 ind/ha dan 307,77 kg/ha biomassa ikan target.Jumlah jenis ikan karang di kawasan konservasi meningkat, yaitu 60 jenis tahun 2010 menjadi 83 jenis pada tahun 2013 dan rata-rata hasil tangkapan tahun 2008 yaitu 3,03 kg/trip dan tahun 2013 yaitu 3,6 kg/trip. Veteran Malang 65145 Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource 2015-08-10 Description An account of the resource Abstract. The objetives of the present research were to determine relationship of phytoplankton abundance and community structure with environmental factors.The research was conducted in twelve stations along East Surabaya’s Coastal Waters. The samplings were represented early dry season (May-July 2013). Regression Correlation Analisis and Principle Component Analysis were involved to determine the relationship between community structure of phytoplankton and nutrient availability as well as other environmental parameters. The results showed that the concentration of Nitrate (NO3-N) was ranged from 1.80mg/L to 7.31 mg/L while Phosphate (PO4-P) was 0.20 – 4.75 mg/L. The phytoplankton abundance was varied between 3300 cell/L to 47000 cell/L. The highest phytoplankton abundance was found in the estuary and deacreased toward the sea areas. The dDiversity and evennes indices were low category, while dominance index was found to be relatively high, where Skeletonema sp. was predominant. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterkaitan antara kelimpahann dan struktur komunitas fitoplankton dengan faktor lingkungan di perairan pesisir. Penelitian dilakukan pada 12 stasiun berbeda di Perairan Timur Surabaya. Sampling plankton dan kualitas air mewakili awal musim kemarau (Mei – Juli 2013). Analisis regresi korelasi dan analisis komponen utama dilakukan untuk melihat keterkaitan struktur komunitas dan ketersedian zat hara dan parameter lingkungan lainnya di lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan zat hara yang relatif tinggi: Nitrat (NO3-N) antara 1,80 – 7,31 mg/L dan Fosfat (PO4-P) antara 0,20 – 4,75 mg/L. Distribusi fitoplankton bervariasi antara 3,3 – 4,7.103sel/L. Kelimpahan plankton paling tinggi didapat pada stasiun muara sungai dengan indikasi penurunan ke arah laut. Primary production in freshwater can be observed with the existing of aquatic plants includes micro and macrophyte. The study of aquatic plant is necessary due to the plant has important in aquatic environments, such as providing habitat, spawning ground, feeding ground, and nursery ground for aquatic biota. This study was conducted in June 2012, and the purposes were to identify species of aquatic plants and their percent cover in Lake Laut Tawar, Takengon. Sampling were conducted using quadrate transects of 0.5 x 0.5 m2, and the every transect was divided into 25 sampling points. A total of 10 species of aquatic plants were found and there were divided into four groups based on their morpho-ecology i.e. emergent, free floating, free submerged and rooted with floating leaves. Of these, emergent group was the most predominant (six species), followed by free floating (two species), free submerged (one species), and rooted with floating leave (one species). Hydrilla verticillata (free submerged group) and Eichhornia crassipes (free floating group) had the highest percent covers and density. Increasing of aquaculture production is playing an important contribution to increase of environmental and pathological problems in several aquaculture production centers. Therefore, prevention and control of diseases are now become a top priority for the sustainability of this industry. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the distribution of fish pathogen in some mariculture production centers in Riau Islands Province. The study was conducted from Febrari 2011 to December 2013. The study showed that Nodavirus and Iridovirus as a viral disease-causing agents were commonly found in marine fish farm. While Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp. and Edwardsiella spp. were general pathogenic microorganism in marine and freshwater fish farms. Furthermore, there were also found various parasites such as Diplectanum sp., Gyrodactilus sp., Caligus sp., Trichodina sp., Rhexanella sp., Hirudinae sp., Benedenia sp.  and Cylodonela sp. in various marine and freshwater fish production centers in the Riau Islands Province. Peningkatan laju produksi perikanan budidaya secara umum berperan penting dalam peningkatan masalah lingkungan dan patogen di beberapa unit produksi budidaya. Oleh karena itu, pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit saat ini menjadi prioritas untuk menjamin keberlanjutan industri ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan monitoring dan menilai distribusi patogen pada beberapa sentra produksi perikanan laut di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Monitoing dilakukan mulai Februari 2011 sampai Desember 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nodavirus dan Iridovirus merupakan agen penyebab penyakit virus yang umum ditemukan di budidaya ikan laut. Sementara Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp. dan Edwardsiella spp. merupakan mikroorganisme patogen yang umum ditemukan di sentra budidaya ikan laut dan ikan air tawar. The objective of this research was to determine the characteristics and mineral content of coastal sand from  Lhokmee, Beureunut, and Leungah Aceh Besar District. The sand analysis was conducted at Material Laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah Kuala University from March to April, 2014. Samples were collected using purpossive sampling method. The observed physical characteristics of this research were sand color, shape and particle size. The mineral content was analysed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Joint Committee for Powder Diffraction Standard (JCPDS) program. The result showed that Lhok Mee coastal sand was physically characterized as white, sub-angular rounded shape and 0.21 mm of size, while Beureunut coastal sand was light brown, rounded-well rounded shape and 0.19 mm of size, then Leungah coastal sand was black, angular-well rounded shape and 0.13 mm of size. Based on  mineral content showed that Lhok Mee, Beureunut, and Leungah coastal sand were dominated by SiO3, SO3 and Fe3O4, respectively. All identified minerals at all stations were classified as volcanic minerals of lithogenous sediment. The objective of the present study was to evaluate diversity of phytoplankton as bioindicator water quality viewed from abundance, diversity index, evenness index, and saphrobic coefficient in Kuala Gigieng, Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province. Sampling was conducted on December 2011 to January 2012. This study applied purposive sampling method. The research obtained 4 families consisted of Crysopyceae (42 genera), Chlorophyceae (8 genera), Cyanophyceae (14 genera) and Euglenophyceae (4 genera). The highest abundance of phytoplankton was 1,362.89 ind/l at high tide on station 3 and the lowest was at low tide on station 1 (809,835 ind/l). The diversity index (H’) was ranged from 3.14 to 4.75, the evenness index (E) was ranged from 0.49 to 0.74, and saprobic coefficient was ranged from 0.331to 0.887. Based on saprobic coefficient, pollution level and water quality was categorized light to moderate level. Furthermore, phase of saprobic were     β-mesosaprobik, β-meso/Oligosaprobik dan β/α-mesosaprobik.Key words : phytoplankton, abundance, diversity index, saprobic coefficient. On March 2012, the Coastal area of Kabupaten Sukabumi, West Java, was affected by tidal flooding. This tidal flooding occured because of the supermoon phenomenon that combine with heavy rains. The potential of tidal flood disaster in Kabupaten Sukabumi coastal area requires an immediate action in order to manage the disaster. The first step to mitigate the disaster is by mapping the area that potentially affected by tidal flood. The objective of this research is to modelling the tidal flood area in coastal of Kabupaten Sukabumi. The result of this research shows that the area that potentially affected by tidal flood without supermoon phenomenon is covering 29% of the coastal area of Kabupaten Sukabumi and it is increasing to 37% when supermoon phenomenon occured. The nutrition contains on eel flash aremainly amino acids, fatty acids, cholesterol, and mineral. The chemical content of foods are change during frying process. The aim of this research was to studythe rendemen, proximate composition (moisture, ashes, protein, and fat content), and analyzing the influence of deep fryingon amino acids, fatty acids, cholesterol, and mineralof eel. The research  measures were eel morfometric which includes length, diameter, circumference, total weight, yield, proximat,  amino acids, fatty acids, cholesterol, and mineral analysis on fresh eel and  after frying in 180 oC temperature for 5 minutes.Rendemen of fried eel reducedabout 26%. The increasing of  proximate levels were found on ashes by 2.56% and  fat by 14.47% while water, protein, and carbohydrate were decreased about 55.43%, 2.84%, and 14.19% respectively. All of the eel amino acids were decrease after deep frying. The highest non essensial amino acid on fresh and fried eel were glutamic acids by 12,89 g/100g and 9,06 g/100g respectively, and essensial amino acid were lisin by 7,13 g/100g and 4,91 g/100g respectively. Limit amino acid on fresh and fried eel were histidine by 1,54 g/100g and 1,18 g/100g respectively.Deep frying could increase palmitic acid by 17.37%, oleic acid by 24.31%,and EPA by 1.42%. Cholesterol content average of fresh eel was 30.15 mg /100 grams and fried eel was 170.44 mg /100 grams. Calcium, natrium, kalium, magnesium, iron, and zinc are decrease and the copper wereincrease.Keywords : composition; eel; heating; nutrition; processingAbstrak. Kandungan gizi dalam daging belut sawah diantaranya adalah asam amino, asam lemak, kolesterol, dan mineral. Proses penggorengan dapat mempengaruhi kandungan kimia suatu bahan pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari rendemen, komposisi proksimat (air, abu, protein, dan lemak) serta menganalisis pengaruh penggorengan terhadap kandungan asam amino, asam lemak, kolesterol, dan mineral belut sawah. Penelitian mencakup pengukuran morfometrik belut sawah segar yang meliputi panjang, diameter, lingkar badan, dan berat total, pengukuran rendemen, analisis proksimat, analisis asam amino, asam lemak, kolesterol, dan analisis mineral pada belut sawah segar dan setelah penggorengan dengan suhu 180 oC selama 5 menit.Rendemen belut goreng mengalami susut sebesar 26%. Perubahan kadar proksimat adalah peningkatan kadar abu sebesar 2,56% dan peningkatan kadar lemak sebesar 14,47%. Penurunan terjadi pada kadar air yaitu sebesar 55,43%, protein sebesar 2,84%, dan karbohidrat sebesar 14,19%. Keseluruhan kandungan asam amino belut mengalami penurunan setelah penggorengan. Asam amino non esensial tertinggi pada belut sawah segar dan goreng adalah asam glutamat yaitu 12,89 g/100g dan 9,06 g/100g, sedangkan asam amino esensial yang tertinggi adalah lisin yaitu 7,13 g/100g dan 4,91 g/100g. Asam amino pembatas pada belut sawah segar dan goreng adalah histidin yaitu 1,54 g/100g dan 1,18 g/100g. Proses penggorengan dapat meningkatkan kandungan asam palmitat sebesar 17,37%, asam oleat sebesar 24,31%, dan EPA sebesar 1,42%.
