A meteorological prespective to analyze the Thunderstorm forecasting in Jakarta has been done. The principal indices to be adapted in a fishpond were also arranged in the study. Storms in Jakarta, so-called as Ordinary Cell Thunderstorms, are frequently arose in the afternoon, particularly during transition period on March-May and September-November in which many of them are triggered by different in surface heating. The latter emerged to an atmospheric instability and force the air parcel to rise through the atmosphere. RAOB was employed to the forecasting of Thunderstorm. A number of such indices as K and Showalter indices as well as CAPE are produced and applied to forecast the conditional instability of the troposphere. The result showed that the extension of inversion layer in ~500–300 hPa implied the shrink of humidity and might strength the convective instability. In addition, the higher amount of CAPE proved the maximum velocity of updraft which lead to a strong convection and vertical wind shear during Thunderstorm in Jakarta. On the other hand, based on the storm indices, three principal indices adapted in a fishpond were also arranged i.e. normal, moderate and risk condition.Keywords. The objective of this research was to found the optimum concentration of honey for sex reversal of male tilapia.   The  non factorial completely randomize design was used for this research, the factor that has been examined were honey concentrations at level of  0%, 0.05 %, 0.1%, 0.15 % and 0.2 % for 24 hours submersion. The data were subjected to Anova test and followed by BNT test. The results showed that the differences of honey concentrations was significantly influence the   percentage of male tilapia (P<0.05), but did not affect significantly on the survival rates. (P>0.05). In general, the percentage of male tilapia was increased with increasing the honey concentrations, where the higher percentage of male was found at 0.2 % (81.43%), and it was different significantly with other concentrations. It is concluded that 0.2% of honey is  suitable for male tilapia sex reversal.Keywords: Honey; Sex reversal; Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus); Male; SubmersionAbstrak.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui konsentrasi madu yang efektif menghasilkan ikan nila (O. niloticus)  kelamin jantan yang paling tinggi. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial digunakan dalam penelitian ini, faktor yang diuji adalah perbedaan konsentrasi madu, yaitu 0 %(kontrol), 0,05 %, 0,1 %, 0,15 % dan 0,2% ppt selama 24 jam perendaman. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan konsentrasi madu berpengaruh nyata terhiadap persentase nila jantan yang dihasilkan (P<0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelulushidupan baik selama perendaman maupun pemeliharaan (P>0,05). Secara umum terlihat persentase kelamin jantan meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan konsentrasi madu dalam larutan perendam. Uji lanjut menggunakan BNJ memperlihatkan bahwa persentase nila jantan tertinggi dijumpai pada  konsentrasi 0,2% (81,43%±0,23), nilai ini berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya. Probiotics bacteria are beneficial microbes to improve microbial balance in the digestive tract. The objective of the research was to isolate and characterize of potential probiotic bacteria in mackerel fish (Rastrelliger sp.). The research was done from April to August 2012 at Laboratory of Microbiology Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. Isolation and characterization used dilution and scratches quadrant methods. The result showed that there were five potential isolates of probiotic bacteria varied morphological colony and cell. Adapun metode perhitungan daya dukung kawasan wisata bahari di Pulau Liukang Loe dilakukan secara matematis dengan rumus DDK= K x Lp/Lt x Wt/Wp.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan interpretasi citra satelit, diperoleh bahwa ada tiga aktivitas wisata bahari di Pulau Liukang Loe yakni wisata pantai kategori rekreasi, snorkling dan diving. Wisata pantai/rekreasi kategori sesuai dengan total panjang area yang dimanfaatkan sebesar 1411 m dapat menampung wisatawan sebesar 56 orang/hari, wisata snorkling sebesar 24,65 ha mampu menampung wisatawan sebesar 986 orang/hari dan wisata selam (diving) sebesar 14,73 ha mampu menampung wisatawan sebesar 589 orang/hari. The objective of the present study was to identify and evaluate reef fish community structure at Makian Island. Sampling was conducted in two stations at coordinate position of 00º.22’15.75”N -127 º.25’12.00”E to 00 º.22’7.90”N - 127º. 25’17.40”E with two different depths i.e. 5 meters and 10 meters. Coral reef data were collected using line intercept transect method, while the reef fish data were taken using a census visual method. A total of 138 species of coral reef fishes were recorded during the survey belong to 47 genera and 21 families. The fish diversity on station 1 for both depths (5 meters and 10 meters) were a medium level, while on station 2 at 5 meters water depth was also a medium category, but a higher diversity was detected at 10 meters depth. The percentage coral covers on station 1 at 5 meters depth was a medium level, at 10 meters depth was classified as high covered, while on station 2 at 5 meters and 10 meters depth were classified very high percent covers.Key word. Nusa Penida is one of the marine protected area in Bali Province. The location has a potency higher as tourist destination. Hence, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the potency and benafit of the this marine protected area as a marine ecotourism. The study was conducted in September 2012 to February 2013. The descriptive quantitative method was used in the study, the data collection was covered the percent cover of corals communities, corals mortality index, marine ecotourism sustainable index, carrying capacity of marine ecotourism. The results of this research showed that the percent cover of corals communities at Nusa Penida was categorized  from good to very good  ranged between 52.00% to 97.00% with corals mortality index ranged between 0.00 to 0.01 at a depth of 3 meters and between 0.00 to 0.025 at 10 meters depth. The marine protected area of Nusa Penida is suitable for  diving activity snorkeling,and beach ecotourism with carrying capacity for diving was 153 people/day, snorkling 212 people/day, and beach ecotourism 122 people/day. The marine protected area of Nusa Penida gave impact on increasing of human well being of society in Nusa Penida with increasing the revenue  10%-30%. and also gave profits the Klungkung Regency. Nusa Penida adalah salah satu kawasan area konservasi laut di Bali yang berpotensi tinggi menjadi salah satu tujuan wisatawan. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana manfaat kawasan ini sebagai kawasan wisata bahari. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2012 sampai Februari 2013. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis perhitungan persen tutupan komunitas karang, indeks mortalitas, indeks kesesuaian ekowisata bahari, daya dukung kawasan ekowisata bahari, evaluasi tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persen tutupan karang di Nusa Penida dikategorikan dari baik sampai sangat baik yaitu berkisar antara 52,00%-97,00% dengan indeks mortalitas berkisar antara 0,00 – 0,01 pada kedalaman 3 meter dan  0,00-0,025 pada kedalaman 10 meter. Oleh karena itu kawasan konservasi Nusa Penida sesuai untuk aktivitas wisata selam, snorkling, dan wisata pantai dengan daya dukung kawasan untuk selam 153 orang/hari, snorkling 212 orang/hari dan ekowisata pantai sebanyak 122 orang/hari. Lombok Strait is one part of Indonesia Through Flow (ITF), important for national and international maritime economic. The strait is passed by ITF, i.e., a displacement water from the Pacific Ocean into the Indian Ocean caused by a difference in the sea water level. ITF flows across the Makassar Strait to south direction and passes through the smaller straits along Bali to Flores. ITF pattern is influenced by its local area condition which creates unique characteristics in each place. ITF passes through the Lombok Strait in part directly related to the Indian Ocean, as well as a very diverse state bathymetry of shallow ocean to ocean trenches. Various oceanographic phenomena affect ITF in the Lombok Strait: tides and waves are formed due to the interaction between the ocean currents from the Indian Ocean to the Lombok Strait, met with ITF flowing from the Lombok Strait into the Indian Ocean. As tides, currents are influenced by the tides that have harmonic components, but there are differences in the frequency and phase are formed. Harmonic component is one of indicators in determining the characteristics of a body of water. The purpose of this study is to obtain the derived harmonic components by analysing currents data in the Lombok Strait acquired from The International Nusantara Stratification and Transport (INSTANT) Expedition Mooring Deployment 1 conducted in 2004 to 2005. Selat Lombok merupakan salah satu alur lintas kepulauan Indonesia (ALKI) yang penting bagi perekonomian maritim nasional dan internasional, sekaligus sebagai alur dari arus lintas Indonesia (Arlindo). Arlindo merupakan peristiwa perpindahan masa air dari Samudera Pasifik menuju Samudera Hindia, yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan ketinggian air laut. Jalur Arlindo melintasi Selat Makasar menuju selatan, kemudian terbagi melewati selat-selat yang lebih kecil diperairan Bali hingga Nusa Tenggara Timur. Pola Arlindo dipengaruhi keadaan perairan setempat yang dilewatinya, sehingga Arlindo memiliki karakteristik yang unik pada masing-masing tempat. Pada Selat Lombok yang berhubungan langsung dengan Samudera Hindia,  fenomena oseanografi mempengaruhi ARLINDO di Selat Lombok diantaranya adalah pasang surut dan internal wave yang terbentuk karena interaksi antara arus laut dalam yang berasal dari Samudera Hindia menuju Selat Lombok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi ekonomi kawasan mangrove serta potensi luas kawasan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sempadan pantai. Adapun metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu nilai ekonomi mangrove di bagian barat Teluk Pangpang dengan menggunakan metode effect on production (EOP) dan kesesuaian kawasan sempadan pantai. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, diperoleh utilitas konsumen dari kawasan mangrove adalah sebesar Rp.33.187.626,12. Dengan jumlah nelayan mangrove sekitar 350 orang dan luas daerah penangkapan sekitar +489 Ha, maka nilai ekonomi sumberdaya kawasan mangrove dilihat dari fungsi pemanfaatan langsung adalah sebesar Rp.32.189.744,06 per hektar per tahun. Study was carried out from April to August 2013 at Tangerang coastal waters, Banten with purposive sampling method and similarity Bray Curtis analysis using minitab.v15.1.2-Equinox softwere. A total of 5458 individuals macrozoobenthos were recorded during the study, its were belonging to 74 species The abundances of macrozoobenthos at Tanjung Pasir location was 634 ind/m2 dominated by Tellina palatum and Tellina timorensis, Kronjo location was 595 ind/m2 dominated by Codakia puncata and lower macrozoobenthos Cituis location was 177 ind/m2 dominated by Clitellio arenarius and Codakia puncata. The spatial distributin based on similarity Bray-Curtis analysis showed that the Kronjo, Cituis, and Tanjung Pasir locations generate four, three, and five groups, respectively. Nuculana bicuspidata dan Ophryotrocha puerilis was a cosmopolite macrozoobenthos were found at all locations. The objective of this research was to study the influence of salinity and buoyancy on hatchability of milkfish eggs (Chanos-chanos). The completely random design was used this study. Two factors i.e. salinity and buoyancy were tested where the salinity with three levels oncentration; 16, 23 and 30 ppt, while the buoyancy with three egg buoyancy categories i.e. floating, drifting and sinking with three replicates respectively. The result showed that the hatchability of floating eggs in tested salinities were 76,7% ; 78,75% ; 91,7%, for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. Then drifting eggs were 65,3%; 67,0%; 77,0% and sinking eggs were 54,0% ; 55,3% ; 65,0% for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. In generally, the hatchability was increased with increasing of salinity. In addition, the hatchability of the floating eggs was higher than the sinking eggs. Keyword: Salinity, buoyancy, hatchability, milkfish.
