The objective of the present study was to evaluate length-weight relationship and condition factor of snakehead (Channa striata) reared in different swamp pond in Sekayu and Mariana swamps of Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The study was conducted from May to November 2013. The result shows that there were no significant difference in the slope (b) between length-weight relationship of fish reared in Sekayu  and Mariana swamp ponds, the fish was displayed a negative allometric growth pattern. Fish reared in Mariana swamp had condition factor 0.884 slightly higher than that in Sekayu swamp 0.839, it can be indicated that swamp environment in Mariana slightly better to support snakehead life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi ikan gabus (Channa striata) telah dipelihara di rawa lebak Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin dan Mariana Kabupaten Banyuasin Provinsi Sumatera Selatan pada Mei hingga November 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan panjang berat tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nyata antara rawa Sekayu dan Mariana dengan nilai b di bawah nilai 3 yang berarti  pertumbuhan ikan gabus tersebut allometrik negatif. The aims of the present study was to evaluate community structure and biomass of phytoplankton based on the depth stratification in the waters of Lake Laut Tawar. Sampling was conducted during March and April 2010. The results showed that 43 species of phytoplankton belonging to five classes were found in Lake Laut tawar. The most common class was Chlorophyceae with 20 genera, followed by Bacillariophyceae (diatoms) by 9 genera, Cyanophyceae (10 genera), Dinophyceae (2 genera), and Euglenophyceae (2 genera). The highest species composition was found at II with 15 m depth (24 genera), while the highest abundance of phytoplankton was occured at station with 10 depth (155600 cells/l), while the lowest abundance was obtained at 15 depth (12745 cells/l). Overall the phytoplankton population in Lake Laut Tawar was dominated by Bacillarophyceae. In addition, the diversity index of phytoplankton was in moderate level (2.34), while the evenness index was ranged from 0.43 to 0.87, indicate the distribution of the individuals of each species was varied, however there was no predominant species detected.Keywords. The objective of the present study was to assess fisheries sustainability of flying fish in Takalar, South Sulawesi using RAPFISH analysis which is composed of four dimensions (ecological, economic, social, and technological).The results of sustainability analysis show that sustainability index in Takalar is 30.93, indicates that the status of flying fish commodities was less sustainable. Monte Carlo analysis results revealed that fisheries sustainability index is strongly stable. Leverage analysis results showed that there were 10 sensitive attributes of 15 existing attributes. Ten sensitive attributes should be of concern to policy makers and become policy priorities in the management of flying fish in Takalar.Hence, arrangement and the implementation of policies on sustainable flying fish fishery in Takalar is cricually needed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai status keberlanjutan sumberdaya ikan terbangdi Selat Makassar.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis RAPFISH dengan menggunakan 4 dimensi yaitu ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, dan teknologi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang di Kabupaten Takalardikategorikankurang berkelanjutan karena nilai indeks yang dihasilkan hanya sebesar 30.93. Hasil analisis sensitivitas menunjukkan bahwa dari total 15 atribut yang digunakan, teridentifikasi 10 atribut sensitif yang mempengaruhi nilai indeks keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang yaitu: jangkauan daerah penangkapan, ukuran ikan yang tertangkap, ikan yang tertangkap sebelum dewasa, pasar utama telur, harga jual, sumber modal kerja, pemanfaatan traditional ecological knowledge, sistem ponggawa-sawi, pola kerja, dan perubahan alat tangkap bale-bale. Morotai Waters, located in North of Maluku, has panoramic coastal waters and marine natural beautiful view, and rich of fishery resources, so it is potentially to be developed as a location for recreation area, mariculture, and fisheries industries. For those reasons, the development need a lot of base data, one of the data base is heavy metals. Heavy metals comes from various human activities, both on land and at sea and geological process. Heavy metals in low levels needed by aquatic organisms for the growth and development of its life, but high levels are toxic. Measurement of levels of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Ni, and Cr in the sediment in the waters of Morotai was conducted in June 2005. Sediment samples is taken using gravity cores at 13 research stations. The levels of heavy metals were measured using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the contamination and pollution of heavy metals pollution level in Morotai Island waters using CF, I_geo, and PLI. The results of this study show that, based on the value of contamination factors (CF), geoaccumulation indices (I_geo) and pollution load indices (PLI), sediment in this water is include to uncontamination and unpolluted category and is still safe for marine life (CF<0, I_geo<0 and PLI <1).Keywords:  Morotai; sediment; heavy metal; pollutions Abstrak. Logam berat dalam kadar yang rendah diperlukan oleh organisme perairan untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan hidupnya, namun dalam kadar yang tinggi bersifat racun. Pengukuran kadar logam berat Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Ni, dan Cr dalam sedimen di perairan Morotai telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni 2005. The objective of the present study was to evaluate mouth character and tooth structure variations of Bagridae. The sampling was conducted on February to July 2012 at Serayu River Banyumas, the sampling was done four times with two week intervals using casting nets and gill nets. A total of three species Bagridae, namely Mystus gulio, Mystus nigriceps and Hemibagrus nemurus were recorded during the study. The objectives of this research were to measure the concentration of total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) compound, concentration of individual PAH compound, and to identify sources of PAH compound in seawater. PAH compound concentration was measured by Gas Chromatography (Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector) and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compound were identified by diagnostic ratio analysis. The results show that the concentration of PAH compound in the middle of Jakarta Bay was higher compared to the west and the east. In the west and middle of Jakarta Bay, it is found that 11 PAH types, and 10 types in the east. Individual PAH compound dominated by high moleculer weight of PAH Benzo(a)Anthracene, Chrysene, Benzo(b)Fluoranthene, Benzo(a)Pyrene, dan Indeno(123-cd) Pyrene. The results of PAH compound ratio individual analysis showed that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compound at Jakarta Bay seawater came from oil spill and incomplete combustion mixture of organic material such as wood, grass, fuel oil, and fuel industry combustion activity. The results showed that Pb was rangedfrom 3.704 pp to 21.892 ppm, Cd was 0.784-1,385 ppm, Cu was 3,451-12,193 ppm, and 24.838 ppm, to 69.973 ppm and 37.289 ppm to 72.329 ppm for Zn and Ni, respectively. It is concluded that the content of the theseheavy metals were lower compared to threshold value stated by The Stated Ministry Office for Life Environment 2004 and Ontario sediment Guideline 2008. In general the heavy metals content in Station 4 was higherthanthe other stations. This iscaused by the differences insediment texture in each station, whilestation 4 is situated  in estuary and it has a black clayssediment texture. In addition, the content of Ni  washigher than the others examined heavy metals.Based on I-geo values that thesediment in this waters is categorized asunpolluted  by Pb, Cu, Zn, and Ni (I-geo<0), and moderate polluted category by Cd (1<I-geo<2). Tujuan  penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat dalam sedimen serta memprediksi kualitas sedimen berdasarkan pendekatan analisis indeks (Indeks geoakumulasi dan  Indeks Beban Pencemaran).Hasilnya menunjukkan, kandungan Pb berkisar  3,704-21,892 ppm, Cd  0,784-1,385 ppm, Cu  3,451-12,193 ppm, Zn  24,838-69,973 ppm, dan Ni  37,289-72,329 ppm. Kandungan ke lima logam tersebut masih lebih rendah dari nilai ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh Kantor Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup 2010 dan baku mutu sedimen Ontario (Ontario Sediment Guideline) 2008. Kandungan logam berat dalam sedimen di Stasiun 4 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Stasiun lainnya. Hal ini disebabkan oleh perbedaan tekstur sedimen di masing-masing stasiun. Stasiun 4 berada di muara sungai dan mempunyai sedimen dengan tekstur  berupa lumpur berwarna hitam.Kandungan logam Ni lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang lain, hal ini menunjukkan adanya masukan sedimen dari Teluk Kendari dan Teluk Lasolo yang terbawa oleh arus, disamping yang berasal dari darat yang masuk melalui aliran sungai. The aims of this study is to evaluate the effect of the mercury nitrate (Hg(NO3)2) on the histological  of the liver structure of Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer Bloch) fingerling which reared in the sea water. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh logam berat merkuri nitrat (Hg(NO3)2) pada struktur histologis hati benih ikan kakap putih (Lates calcarifer Bloch) yang dipelihara di air laut. Analisis struktur jaringan hati dilakukan melalui teknik histologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hg(NO3)2 memberikan efek negatif pada hati benih ikan. Pada jaringan hati, (Hg(NO3)2) menyebabkan kerusakan atrophy, necrosis, lapisan antar sel hati berpisah, perlemakan hati, pembengkakan sel yang tidak beraturan, degenerasi pada vacuola, terbentuknya ruang antar sel, hepatitis, sirrhosis dan terdapatnya akumulasi logam berat Hg(NO3)2 dalam jaringan hati.Kata kunci: Jaringan hati, benih kakap putih, Senyawa logam berat. Skipjack fishing activity in Prigi waters east java at fishing groud of WPP 573 mostly used purse seine and troll line.The aims of the study was to evaluate the fluctuation cacth per unit effort and catch sesaons of  skipjack in Prigi waters as  primary comodity big pelagic yield.. Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) and IMP were calculated from primary data using vessel trips at port office and secondary data from statistic atPPN Prigi years 2000 – 2011to due analysis with using regretion and microsoft excel. Result showed  value of CPUE higher at 2002 year is 27,9 ton/year and lower at 2001 year is 0,5 ton/year with season pattern that occured higher catch that occured at Juni – Juli and September – Nopember, the peak season at September while famine season that occured at Januari – Mei, Agustus and December.Key words : Pattern Season; Effort; Cakalang; Prigi Waters Abstrak. Kegiatan penangkapan ikan Cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis) di Perairan Prigi Jawa Timur, daerah penangkapan WPP 573,sebagian besar menggunakan alat tangkap pukat cincin dan pancing tonda.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan hasil tangkapan per upaya penangkapan dan pola musim yang terjadi di Perairan Prigi khususnya pada perikanan cakalang yang menjadi komoditi utama hasil pelagis besar. Nilai Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE)dan Indeks Musim Penangkapan didapatkan dari data primer dari data trip kapal di syahbandar dan data sekunder berupa data statistik Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Prigi dari tahun 2000 – 2011 yang dilakukan analisis dengan menggunakan regresi sederhana dan menggunakan microsoft excel. Kebun Raya Cibodas merupakan kawasan konservasi ex situ yang terletak di Cagar Biosfer Cibodas Jawa Barat. Sebagai bagian dari Cagar Biosfer Cibodas, Kebun Raya Cibodas berfungsi sebagai konservasi, penelitian, pariwisata dan pendidikan. Penelitian inventarisasi tumbuhan air bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi jenis tumbuhan air yang tumbuh di kawasan Kebun Raya Cibodas. Penelitian inventarisasi tumbuhan air dilakukan dengan metode eksplorasi pada 6 lokasi di Kebun Raya Cibodas dan pengumpulan specimen tumbuhan air untuk identifikasi.
