<text>        The study was aimed at determining responses of several sweet corn varieties to organic and inorganic fertilizers on tsunami affected land and knowing interactions between both factors on growth and yield of sweet corn. The experiment was conducted in Village of Lampuuk, Lhoknga, District of Aceh Besar, from January 7 to March 19, 2008. This research was conducted using a randomized complete block design (RCBD), 3 x 3 with 3 replications. There were two factors studied, namely fertilizations, consisting of 3 levels: 100% organic fertilizer, 50% organic fertilizer + 50% inorganic fertilizers and 100% inorganic fertilizers. The second factor was varieties, consisting of 3 levels: Sweet Boy, Hawaiian Sweet Corn Hybrid F1 and Super Bee. The results showed that fertilization significantly affected ear weight with and without cornhusk, but did not affect diameter of ear and seed rows per ear. The highest result was found at a treatment of 50% organic fertilizer + 50% inorganic fertilizers, but was not significantly different from 100% organic fertilizer. Varieties showed no significant effects on all variables observed.  There were significant interactions between fertilizations and varieties on plant height at age 42 and 63 day after planting (DAP), leaf length at age 21, 42, and 63 DAP, and root fresh weight at age 21 DAP.  The best plant growth was found at a combination of Sweet Boy   and 50% organic fertilizer + 50% inorganic fertilizer.</text>

<text>The research was aimed at studying effects of potassium on the development of Aphis glycines populations and soybean yield. The experiment was conducted in Village Rayeuk Naleung, Sub district Tanah Luas, District North Aceh from July to September 2013. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replicates. The treatment was without fertilizer, potassium fertilizer at a dose of 25 kg/ha K2O, 50 kg K2O/ha and 75 kg K2O/ha. The variables observed were populations of A. glycines and components of yield soybean. The results showed that potassium at doses of 75 kg K2O/ha can reduce populations of A. glycines and soybean yield increase as compared to potassium fertilization at a dose of 25 kg/ha K2O  and 50 kg K2O/ha.  </text>

The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD), consisting of two factors, i.e. the growing media composition and foliar fertilizer concentration. The first factor consisted of the composition of the soil and manure by volume ratio (3:1, 3:2, and 3:3) and the second factor consisted of foliar fertilizer concentrations (0, 2, 4 mL/L of water ). The results showed that the growing media composition soil+manure (3:3) was the best in increasing crop height, leaves number, leaf length, leaf width and yield at 35 day after planting, while the best concentration for those parameters was 4 mL/L of water. Based on the interaction, the best leaf number of lettuce was found at growing media composition soil+manure (3:3) with the concentration of foliar fertilizer 4 mL/L of water.</text>

<text>The ojectives of this research were to study effect of media composition and  foliar fertilizer of NOVELGRO concentration on growth Jatropha curcas.  Experimental design used was a factorial 3x4 with three replications. Factors investigated were growth media composition with a ratio of 1:1:1 (soil, compost, sand), (soil, compost, and rice husk), (soil, compost, saw dust), and Novelgro concentration of 0, 1, 2 and 3 cc/L of water.  Results showed that there was a significant effect of growth media composition on plant growth and leaf number  at  35, 45 and 55 day after planting (DAP), stem diameter at 45 and 55 DAP, fresh weight, dry weight and dry weight of root, but the media composition did not show significant  effect on plant growth and leaf number at 25 DAP and stem diameter at 25, 35 DAP. The best growth was found at media composition of soil, compost and sand with a ratio of 1:1:1.  Fertilizer concentration significantly affected stem diameter at 25 DAP but did not show a significant affect on plant growth and leaf number at 25, 35, 45, and 55 DAP, stem diameter at 35, 45, and 55 DAP, fresh weight, dry weight and dry weight of root. Plant growth was best at a fertilizer concentration of 2cc/L of water. There was no significant interaction between growth media composition and fertilizer concentration on all variables observed. </text>

<text>This study was aimed at determining effects of combinations of doses N, P and K and fertilizer placement on growth and yield of sweet corn and also finding out interactions between the two treatments. The research was conducted at the Seed Garden of Agriculture Faculty, Unsyiah, using a factorial randomized complete block design. Factor studied were combinations of fertilizer doses of N, P and K (Urea, TSP and KCl), consisting of three levels: P1 = 400 + 250 + 200 kg/ha, P2 = 450 + 300 + 250 kg/ha, and P3 = 500 + 350 + 300 kg/ha, and fertilization manners, consisting of two levels: circle and sideband. The results showed that the combination of doses of fertilizer N, P and K exerted a highly significant effect on ear weight, cob weight and cob weight/ha and exerted a significant effect on plant height of 30 and 45 days after planting and  cob length, but did not affect cob diameter.  The best growth and yield was obtained in a combination of N, P and K 500 + 350 + 300 kg/ha. Fertilizer placement did not significantly affect plant growth and yield of sweet corn. There was no significant interaction between fertilizer dose combinations of N, P and K and fertilizer placement on growth and yield of sweet corn.</text>

The aim of the research was to evaluate seed viability and vigor of seed due to variety and ripening temperature. A factorial completely randomized design was used in this research. The rice varieties used were  cisantang, kalimas, ciherang, widar and IR 64. The temperatures of ripening stage were : 27-32 oC  and 30-38 oC. Observed variables were  growth potency, germination rate, growth speed, growth uniformity, germination time for 50 % seed, dry weight of normal seedling.  Result showed that variety and ripening stage temperature did not have significant effect on viability and vigor of rice seed.   </text>

Variables observed were shoot numbers, shoot height, and leaf numbers at 8 weeks after culturing. The results showed that there was interaction between IAA and BAP on leaf numbers of plantlet at 8 weeks after culturing, where the presence of IAA in the medium caused BAP to exert negative effect on lef formation. On shoot numbers and shoot height, the concentration of IAA and BAP did not exert any effect.  </text>

The result showed that provision of Trichoderma (T. harzianum and T. virens) conidia suspension using seed submersion technique did not affect seed germination of cacao, tomato, and soybean, but significantly affected cacao root extension. Provision of Trichoderma through seed submersion on sand box germination gave a positive response to tomato plant, tolerance to cacao plant, and a negative response to soybean plant.  The causing factors of difference responses varied including concentration, application techniques, and kinds of seed.</text>

The experimental design used was an unformatted design. The research showed that relative growth rate and protein were the main variables to improve soybean seed quality.  </text>
